No, he took a half second to do a visual sweep, assessed the situation, and made a conscious decision to get that gun. His reflexes are perfect. But that is something that came from deep within. You either have the guts or you don't, and that comes from a deep love for your fellow humans.

His military training is obvious, he wasn't afraid of that gun, he did it instinctively.
Combat mentally prepared for any life threatening situation, it's just simple instinct of any combat hands soldier. He saw the opening when kid was swinging the gun and he took it, forget about civilian doing it EVER, but as Combat soldier it was in his blood and instinct. Total self confidence that's all. Agro was 2 teen black kids each 130LBS and the dude like 230 and combat.

I was so impressed by how quickly he acted and How brave he was that I showed the video to like five people that day
I like what he said humbling himself not only strained but mentally prepared l, I was assaulted recently but i was not prepare mentally didn't eat almost all day and i went for a hike, i didn't even defend myself i only tried to escape form the danger zone since the guy was bigger then me but i said God pleas help me and somehow i released myself from this guy even when he hammered my ribs like 4 times felt like if my ribs was broken, i was terrified, took pictures of his truck but blurted license plate.

This is a great example of the difference between someone brave and a coward. The moment things start turning he runs away so fast he falls over, not standing by his friend even though they outnumber the man they're fighting. Hopefully they learned their lesson and never try anything like this again.

The Marines did not teach us to disarm people holding weapons like that, but what they do teach is to just be decisive and act, as opposed to think about it. We always carry ourselves at threat level yellow, which is basically a general situational awareness, where you are not buried in your phone, and you are not paranoid, but rather, just aware of your surroundings, and who is in your vicinity. I gotta tell you, as a Marine, I am impressed. He was all over it. He did not hesitate for a second.

Was thinking the same. Our Marine Corps training didn't teach us anything like the specific moves he did. Training to act decisive, instinctive, as well as training to rush an ambush all likely played a role in helping this man.

And one more element, martial training. Awareness and reflexes won't help if one hasn't been actually trained in how to handle a threatening situation, like a gun or other weapon in one's face. This man was not only well-trained, but also experienced, I would say. It seemed nothing new to him.

He acted without thinking about the consequences because of his mental preparation, as he said. I am left handed, but I was still surprised he did not reach with his right hand until I saw it was filled at the time. Use of force is more about mindset than training. YOU could have that mindset naturally, but Marines learn to act without thinking just to do a right face while marching. SEE THE THREAT = TAKE THE ACTION.

I like what he said about, that the military training help a little bit, but the majority came from being alerted and thinking well, because that’s to let us all know that we most be always prepared.
Agreed I’ve been in some real life issues with some marines and believe it or not they were frozen in shock. Can’t teach a man to stay and fight.

Yes, the best thing we can do to is to not force a dangerous vaccine on our young ones that will only put them more at risk according to studies. We can also make sure we're not turning ourselves into petri dishes for new variants by avoiding the shots ourselves. At least if we're under 70 and in good health. Let's also make sure that we leave our kids with a country where they're free to roam about without showing their papers to authority.

well you should consider yourself lucky, you should never want to be there when it happens TO witness it.
Yes he is a hero. But he is also lucky. He is lucky these robbers only had one gun and that the second robber didn't attack him. This could of easily turned into a bad situation.
America should focus on getting guns out of the hands of criminals rather than the idea that everything is all good as long as you join the military. You have to remember that even ex military can become criminals too.

@@fynkozari9271 in some areas, no there's little to no need, but in other areas if you don't have one then you are the only person who doesn't. The state i live in just passed a law saying anyone over 21 years old can carry, unless they have a restraining order or something similar. Knowing some of the people that can legally carry, it's best if i do.

Though he later said he had no choice as he knew they were violent robbers and he would be dead if he didnt intervene.
