That is a top notch sheath, and I have a real appreciation for your craftsmanship. Thanks for the video!
I did my first knife sheath at 59. It was a kit. However it was rather rewarding. You are very skilled. I didn't know there was so much work that goes into leather work. I have a better understanding and respect for the art of leather crafts. Beautiful work. Stand proud your very impressive.
I own one of these sheaths. It is absolutely wonderful - the craftsmanship is fantastic!! Well worth the money
Looking at the thumbnail i was thinking this was purchased and you were reviewing it. Great job on the sheath and maybe one day i hope to be that good.
Simply...beautiful! What a masterpiece, well done.
I must admit that when you first started I had my doubts but the finished sheath honors the legacy of the Ka-bar. As an old grumpy U.S. Marine you have my respect sir!
WOW! That is what one would call superb work.
THAT THERE MY FRIEND ! IS SOME AMAZING WORK'S MANSHIP !!! YOU HAVE AN ART FOR WORKING WITH LEATHER !!! I REALLY ENJOYED THE VIDEO ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!
Thanks my friend

A pleasure to watch a craftsman.
Nice work matey, you've inspired me!, ive been looking for a good leather sheath for my large tanto for the last 3 years, ive given up....im gonna make one!. I think il order extra leather, as my wallet's seen better days, its 25yrs old so its done well!. Keep up the good work. All the best.
Wouahhhhh Congratulations my friend ! It's Really wonderful.
i have an Elk Ridge and i want a sheath just like that, sadly i dont have the tools or the leather, great video, and great endcome, i loved it!
Beautiful craftsmanship. Thank you for making this video.
Great job, nice attention to detail; you are a true craftsman !!!
I am in the process of buying leather working tools to give this hobby a go.Thank god for you tube,so i can learn from experienced individuals like yourself.Very nice work btw..Cheers from Australia.
I was where you are about 6 year ago being 75 now i was in the my late 60s with tones of mid and low range knives that I like a lot but all came with crap sheaths . so I search and search and believe it or not ended up in England . the guy o learned how to stitch from is Armitage Leather he you can learn so much about stitching it will make your head hurt not only how to stitch in very great detail but why and where certain stitches are used ,for me it was the saddle stitch ,his video saddle stitching in detail is just great but there are many . if your thinking of sheaths, Ibcustomknives and Ibcustomleather ,also Ian Atkinson, there all just great this should help you out any way it can't heart seems all the leather smiths here in the states are not sharing much .Happy Trails
Thanks for the reply Mike, your help and suggestions are truly appreciated.I am wondering if you are related to Daniel.Only kidding mate.I am retired from the work force these days due to severe back problems so am looking for light stuff that i may be able to do.I have always worked with my hands and am wanting to make knives, but every good knife needs a quality sheath. One thing has lead to another.I now have most of the tools apart for a few snaps and waxed thread and am so close to doing my first project in leather that i can smell it.Money is an issue so i have been researching natural dyes and making my own leather treatments instead of paying through the nose for these store brought chemicals.Rome was not built in a day and it all takes time.I have a video up of my 689Lb Peter Wright anvil if interested, that i took with my phone years ago,so it is all something that has taken years to get to this stage.Photography is another hobby that had taken precedent over smithing and leatherwork. So many things to do and so little time. The older i get the more i have come to realise,we are not on this earth a long time...All the best mate.
RICHY MARK NORMAN Will it sounds like we could be brother on opposite sides of the earth yes i am a Boone and damn proud of it grand father was born in South Carolina Daniel Dove Boone was his name he built rail road cars like his father before him if he was a trapper in winter and hunter if he was not working zero government assistance back then you earned what you got or starved not like today's nanny state been an out doors man all my life . But Made a living as a tool and Die maker for 55 years .I also had back problems 3 spinal fusions back in 2003 had a great surgeon lucked out there. It took a full year to recover you only get one shot at healing correctly, so I did what he said and have never been better zero problems now . You mention thread I went through a real learning curve there and us nothing but Ritza Tiger Thread there is no better thread in the world ,where you really see the Thread wear problems is when doing huge knife sheathes like for 22 inch long display knives the thread actually frays on you even the waxed thread but with the tiger it will never wear here it's like the gold standard of thread . Any way if there is anything I can do let me know . Good luck once you,ve done a few make the normal mistakes it's all nothing but fun . Also be real care full what you us to dye with most natural days can really do strange things to steel over time some times you can problems then other times it takes time before a problem comes to the surface sort of speak . As to cost I have to drive 5 hours to Nevada or Arizona to be exact to buy oil dye . Here in California the leftist ass holes government has banned oil dyes and I will not us anything else i have tried them all spent a bloody fortune and there all shit and lit me tell you there is nothing more depressing than having spent all that time just hours of work to have it screed up with some so called echo friendly dye .Happy Trails Rich.
Good luck
Outstanding craftsmanship excellent video!
Music is fine, work is excellent, vey nice job!
I was looking at a knife recently. It said hand stitched sheath was sold separately for an additional 45 bucks or you could get a nylon one included in the price of the blade. I I thought that's a little spendy, as much as the blade... now you've taken away my excuse for complaining LOL beautiful craftsmanship and thanks ever so much for the tutorial.
Good work! Very nice piece! Just subscribed. Wish I knew where to get started.
This was fascinating and a beautiful piece of work. If I could make two small suggestions as a knife maker, a survival nut and a combat vet? A stud or stud and nutcap system to secure the ferro rod? And a longer pocket for the stone but tiny things like tinder tabs and fishing rig etc could be stored under the stone? Liked and subscribed.
Masterful!! I love it!

Ivan, that is a masterful piece of art. Thanks for sharing.
Truly excellent sheath. I’ve just recently began watching videos about working with leather. I like the idea of making something useful, that I need, with my own hands. And, I gotta say, it looks rather relaxing and Zen-like.

SUBLIME JOB ! BRO'
Beautiful work!!! I have a question...I have my Fathers world war 2 Ka- Bar, and he inscribed all the islands he fought on, the back of the leather scabbard in the pacific theater...but they are very faded, is there something that might bring out the inscribing, without ruining the scabbard? Maybe mink oil..I really want to be able to read them.. thanks, if you know of any!
complimenti! te la compererei :D
That was beautiful, very artistic but does it come for the Bir Brother Kabar!?
¡¡¡ Excelente trabajo...pero tengo una duda, para que es esa pieza larga negra que va metida en ese espacio igual largo... ese pedazo de metal redondo.?????saludos desde México.
