It’s not something abnormal that a sa victim actually ends up in a relationship with their attacker. It’s a way to cope with the trauma. When the trauma is so overwhelming the victim thinks “well if i am in a relationship with them, what just happened is actually ok and not traumatizing”
Thank you. So many people invalidate those who stay and the shock and denial that comes with such traumatizing events.
Very true. Long term, this cycle of abuse continues as a way to make them feel trapped and isolated. The attacker does something to hurt the victim, apologizes or love bombs them in a honeymoon phase, lets it cool off, and it repeats. Kris Wu is basically a serial abuser who used his status as a celebrity to hurt these girls.
Women and people who make it out of these situations can be resilient, but still very hurt. I’m glad DMZ was able to find the strength to fight for herself and the other victims.

I don't care about Kris Wu. But DMZ is an incredible and brave woman. It takes so much courage to stand up to your abuser, and she did this not just for her sake, but for the sake of Kris's other victims. And she did this online, and we all know how ruthless the internet can be. She is amazing. And so smart of her to take that contract to a lawyer!

Not just DMZ, but all the victims were very brave to come out with their experience with Kris, whether publicly or by privately reaching out to DMZ. Angelababy also deserves credit for looking out for Jin Mai. After all, she's been a model in the industry since she was very young herself, and has probably experienced a lot of creepy actions and words from inappropriate men. The fact that she immediately noticed the red flags from Kris and protected Jin Mai every time while under the pressure of having to do that all on camera and having to also make it all sound "light" so as not to offend Kris or his fans, she did an amazing and wonderful thing stepping up for Jin Mai! I wonder how she felt after the allegations about Kris and his conviction. Kudos to all these brave women ❤❤

Idk if you’ve seen her past videos, but she was also a victim or SA and still struggled with anxiety and panic attacks, & Mr. Mango butt is always there to take care of her in those moments.
Well Kris is victim too. The victim was dating Kris in the beginning, but one day, Kris wu broke up with her due to busy work, and the victim got mad and started taking revenge. In other word, if Kris continue to date her, then she would be fine giving away her virginity.

Kris Wu’s case severely upset me. I used to love Exo (bts was my main tho), but like i was a huge huge huge stan of just him. His music also got me through my dark times when i used to be SA and r@p3d so, when all this came to light.. i was so mad and heartbroken. like wtf. the guy who’s got me through the worst times of my life, just to find out he put other people in that same trauma

What got you through was hope. The hope of finding something to hold unto during your darkest days. Regardless of his corruption, it’s great that his music was able to provided that for you. People’s corruption and their ability to paint a beautiful picture are two separate things. It’s okay to hold on to this beautiful imagery as it help you cope, just don’t put your faith and trust on people because humans are flawed and they will fail you. Stay strong because you are stronger than you think.

wow Stephanie I would love to hear you talk about Kpop group " Omega X" their agency were horribly abusive and were forcing them to perform sick with COVID and left them stranded in the US after news broke that they were being mistreated. They recently sued and were able to get out of their contracts. They are remaining together as a group and are currently looking for a new company. I would love to help spread their voices even farther. The boys held a press conference after they returned home after having to pay for their own flights with their personal funds. They still have legal proceedings left in regard to getting compensation but they have been freed to continue their actives without being tied to their former company
I was able to see / meet them during their US tour and they were some of the most lovely people I’ve ever met.😭💞they definitely don’t deserve all they’ve been through 💔

I’ve been an exo-l since their debut and being one, after all those years, tested every inch of my loyalty to the group and also my principles. I respected every decision the former members had made knowing the mistreatment they experienced in that agency. However, this case really shows how we don’t know anyone just based on we see on the internet. I’m glad he got what he deserves.
Kris decision was pure greed for me, even back then. He can choose Lay route back then, especially because he is a leader of his team, along with suho. But he continue to disregard the thing that what makes him known in the first place. Sometimes u need a little bit humility to really be respected as a person. I work in prison in Australia, those soft small toothbrushes are called safety toothbrushes, it's common in mental health hospital too to prevent harm but in prison it's to prevent toothbrushes being sharpened into shivs (prison knives) which is a common weapon to do stabbings with.

Exactly, Kris took advantage of the young woman. The love is crazy and the nerve of ghosting those he slept with which is so mean. I feel so bad for the girl DMZ. But she’s very tough in demanding a public apology for him then fighting for herself and the other victims. Even she did not get the amount of money demanded but she did ruined him and he deserved it.
I just remembered a scene back when EXO's popularity exploded. They did a reality show called EXO's Showtime, something like that in 2013. I remember Baekhyun poking fun at Kris about him crying for his mom and wanting to go home. A lot of fans called out Baekhyunnie for being insensitive and being an ahole. I kind of felt bad for Kris at the time since he was a foreigner but looking at this case and how his mom acted towards him just blows my mind. And he left before their first concert without warning making everyone reorganize the entire event. On top of the ridiculous hate EXO was getting from antis, his leaving hurt EXO. And he's hurting them again by still being mentioned in articles as an ex member when that was a long time ago and they have nothing to do with his scandal.
This topic is something that pissed me off so much. I was such a Kris wu fan, but ever since this happened, I'm so disappointed! These celebrities really had everything going for them. I'm so glad that I can finally get a deep dive about this. Seems like not a lot of people are covering this. So thanks.
i used to be such a huge fan of kris wu, i supported and admired him so much, when Antares came out, I listened to that album nonstop and even wished he’d release a new album again soon. After hearing the news about him I was distraught.

i never looked into this case so thank you for covering it it’s just so crazy because he’s been doing this for a while. he’s been predatory and so careless for such a long time and got away with it. i’m glad dmz did what she did and i hope the victims are healing from this and eventually feel like justice has been served. and the thing with jinmai is so crazy like it was seen as comedic but he truly had gross intentions and the fact that he did all that so openly on camera too i can’t even grasp that.

When the allegations first came out, I didn't know what to say or believe because people make up fake stories all the time. But as soon as more stuff came out, I was done. Deleted all of his solo music, and I'm glad he got the punishment he deserves

This was indeed shocking even though I was never that into kris Wu... it's crazy how he could have saved himself so many times by reflecting and saying sorry, but people don't learn until it is too late.

I first noticed him in his cameo in 'Valerian', one of my fave underrated sci-fi movies (director's planning wrt the universe created and creatures is amazing). His acting was very 'rookie' and just a few scenes, so no impact/damage done.

Kris was my bias when he was in EXO, because he really stood out from all the others to me. I stopped listening to them when he left, and was following his solo career instead (streaming his music, watching his films and shows, etc.). I was genuinely shocked and disgusted by the accusation, and didn’t know what to think until more information came to light. Once it became clear that the accusations were true, I was so heartbroken and disappointed. I’m glad the victims have seen justice now, and that the case was taken so seriously. This case shows we truly don’t know anything about our favorite idols, I’m glad this situation was covered by you Stephanie. The only thing about this ordeal I think is unfair is how some people keep trying to drag the remaining members of EXO into it, even though he left the group almost a decade ago.
