A game changer for bettering communication between the owner and dog. With a correctly positioned and used prong collar, I enjoy taking my GSD with me on walks in areas that were a battle before (squirrels!). We can quickly shut down aggressive behavior so that now she understands what is acceptable and what is not. It is such a pleasure for both of us! People who say it is inhuman have never used it - are just judging it on the looks of the collar, not on its clarity of communication it provides. It works on big and small dogs so if you have a "yapper" losing its mind on your walk, please look into how these can help your dog become happier and calmer.
I just purchased one from a vendor here in the USA. Thank you for continuing to update and reiterate your content in training dogs. My 13 week GSD after only having her 4 weeks, is already better behaved and trained than most adult dogs.
Just switched our 8 month old to the Prong 2 days ago and what a world of a difference. I tried the slip leash first and it worked for a week or 2 but he slowly got used to it so decided to upgrade to prong. Thanks for this video glad made the right decision.
I got a prong to help me with my reactive GSD and oh boy it made all the difference when I used it. Now we can walk around other dogs and he no longer freaks out and can earn plenty praise. I feel better when he wears the prong collar because I feel it would do less damage than if he wore any other collar if he were to lunge out or do something stupid. He could totally go without it but I want him safe so I will carry on having him wear it. He really doesn't mind as he knows wearing it means having fun with me. Keep up the amazing and informative videos.

I tried the gentle leader and smashed my face on the ground the fractured my eye socket Yes I have a gentle giant BUT he’s young and strong this prong collar has helped tremendously
I'm right there with you I've a 2½Yr old intact male leonberger he's 160lbs super lean to point get asked if I feed him 🤦♀️ he's fine as long as a dog doesn't react to him 1st unfortunately we can barely be out less than 5 min without meeting 1 of them ( his response is to try run away while dragging me with him) or if he sees a cat that runs then I may as well not be there for all good I am. Got told to get a dogmatic head collar he broke it on 1st walk. I got a different type that lead attaches behind head and was thicker less than weeks he learnt to get away to pull backwards and it slips over his ears and off as his neck is so thick. A force free trainer told me to use a front clip harness got a very well made 1 he broke the front clip. He's now picked up a ton of bad habits as I go places can be off lead and can see dogs in advance and go different way so now even without seeing something he pulls and his shoulder hits my hip as he's so tall. Fingers crossed now with a balanced trainer and prong we can get back to being able to walk daily and not when someone is free to drive me places to walk him even better can do it with my shepherd on same walks like I walked my 1st leonberger and sheepdog I had
Thank you... I took your advice and purchased a h&s prong collar for my 88lbs dog Ozzy...this was after I trained him with the basics of obedience and loose leash walking for a year-and-a-half. The prong collar was a step up to what I call power steering because he likes to pull and show his ass even though he knows his training, so I had to move up to the prong collar just for reinforcements sake. I appreciate this video it helped me know that I did take your advice properly and I was doing things properly with the prong collar and I learned a couple new things.
Thanks man. I run into a lot of people who have prong-collars who are not educated on how to use them. This is a concise video I can link to them to hopefully empower owners.
I also recommend leaving the p collar on the dog (under supervision) for 5-7 days before actually putting the leash on it. The dog gets used to the prong on its neck and when you do need to add a correction he doesn't know the correction is coming from the collar. Sometimes the dog knows the discomfort is coming from the collar so when you go to put it on him he starts to weave his neck around or runs away trying to avoid it.
I've never had a dog be afraid of their HS prong!!.. I'm currently training a young female, Bouvier who jumps for joy and comes running the minute she hears the jingle she even does zoomies!!..If you're using it correctly.. the dog isnt afraid of YOU or which ever collar you use.

In the Netherlands we are not allowed to use this kind of prong collars. This’s just how it is. Is there a alternative collar what I can use in your opinion?
When adding/removing links, do there have to be the same amount of links on either side of the connecting plate in the middle? Does that affect pressure distribution?
I have used mine with an uneven number of links. Other than hurting my OCD, it wasn't an issue. I offset the collar to keep the center buckle (tab, if you haven't upgraded to a buckle) directly on his throat, like the collar is designed. Not sure if it matters, but it made me feel better. This means my leash hooked up a little off center, but it operated just fine.

Could you make a video on fixing desensitization to the prong for leash pulling in a very physically/emotionally strong dog? I have increased the motivation and started to use the e collar at his working level for negative reinforcement to improve this behavior but it is so far inconsistent.
Mine is desensitized to a good bit of pulling, whether he is doing it or I am. I started using correction "pops" when he started to load the collar, and he has stopped pulling. Just don't let them load the collar. When he starts to load it, offer a correction that is just hard enough to make him back off. I've found that me running the collar, rather than the dog, works better with the large, strong willed breeds. I'm no trainer, but I've managed to make my Caucasian Shepherd into a well behaved love-bug, so I feel like I'm doing something right. Again, I'm no professional, so don't take my word for it. There may be a better way, especially with a less intense breed. That's just what has worked for me.
Haz explained it early in the video. Its all about a dog becoming "desensitized" to correction. If you use a training collar on a dog like that rotty, you will have to have serious corrections because the dog will power through it. We use prong collars to fix that, but like Haz also said if you dont use the p collar correctly its only a matter of time before he gets desensitized to that too. The corrections need to be firm enough to over power the dogs behavior.

doesn't work or takes way too long. Use a prong properly and you can fix behavior quicker and it's better for the health of you and the dog. These things have literally saved dogs' lives.
A trainer killed my dog misusing this
How? Did the trainer hang the dog from a tree with it? If you know how a prong collar works, thats about the only way that can happen.
If what you said actually happened, it would probably have made the news. I looked it up, and there are no reports of a prong collar killing a dog.
Prove it
Then You had a trainer who hated animals
Ok? How?
