- HDLC stands for "high-level data link control" and is widely used in metering communication infrastructures. working with DLMS COSEM energy meters requires knowledge of the DLMS standard and its communication protocols. In this video we will cover the basic structure of a HDLC packet and how to translate it. We will translate a packet segment by segment and also via a third party application Gurux DLMS Director.
You can download this tool from their website along with their API so you can write applications yourself to communicate with energy meters and devices.
The Link for Downloading Gurux DLMS Director Aplication is in the comments section.
Excellant Video. Thank you. Waiting for your next video
Thanks a lot

Great video, thanks! One of the best videos on this topic right now. Is there a way we could contact you?
Thanks a lot. yeah sure you can email me on mrmeter87@gmail.com
Nice work, thanks! You have manged to compress a lot of useful information in such a short video. If I understand correctly, before a meter can be queried using DLMS requests, the underlying HDLC connection must be explicitly established through some combination of discovery and negotiation..? It would be nice if you could cover that topic in some detail.
Thanks a lot. Yes HDLC is a connection-oriented communication in which a connection must be established before data is transmitted.
I will surely make a video covering the connection and negotiation part of HDLC communication in detail.
Thanks for watching the video. 🙏🙏
