Good to hear brother and yes I think your new channel will be of great help to all of us that are feeling somewhat not ourselves anymore.. Looking forward to your new content on your new camera. Good on you.
I hope so buddy, I think there are lots of things that go unsaid or discussed particularly for younger guys, so I look forward to being open with my struggles and solutions in the hopes that it helps people in a similar situation.
Good man Paul, sorry to hear you haven't been the best, just know your a legend in my book, you live and breath it, your the real deal. I'd love to be like you when I grow up. Great to see you back.
Hi Paul, glad to see you back and hear that you are managing to turn things around. This pandemic and life in general is having a huge impact on many of us. I've struggled on and off most of my adult life and more so recently again. I have started to invest time in RUclips recently. As much as I love being outside I often struggle with lack of motivation due to depression etc so it has given me a good push and it has paid off mentally. Looking forward to new videos, cheers Sam
Lots of ideas from me. I am living in Belgium at the moment and would really be interested in knowing more about chaga. Particularly how to identify. I haven’t seen any here on silver birch that I know of but may have seen some on beech. Also, would be great to get more guidance on hand drill, particularly the different materials that can be used. I am currently using elder spindle and a slightly decomposed ivy wood. The ivy wood is great for bow drill. I have got some smoke and a light brown dust but no ember so far (some fairly spectacular blisters though). Also, how do you cook and favourite foraging in the woods.
Paul, I truly enjoy watching what you do. The primitive aspect of taking little to nothing into the wilderness and being able to survive and even thrive is appealing to me. I absolutely respect your decision to step away for awhile and focus on yourself and encourage you to keep doing that whenever you feel it's needed. I look forward to seeing what you do next even if it isn't primitive bushcraft related. Glad to see and hear you.
Great to see you back my friend. I only found your channel a month or so ago but glad to see you back. Been in a similar situation for a while and it's definitely hard to pick things back up and get yourself interested again. All the best 👍
Hi Paul, your videos were already excellent and it shows that your expertise shines through. Well done mate on getting through your dark place. By the way, did you ever use the hobo reel? Keep going buddy.
Hey Paul great to see you back buddy, sorry to hear you've had a rough time of late but we have all been here for you and always will be. Keep up the great work my friend and I will look forward to your next video. Atvb Stuart
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with but don't put pressure on yourself to keep regular releases if you're ever not feeling up to it, I know what it's like to loose your filming mojo. Maybe we could do a collaboration when we next meet up 🙂
Sweet mate glad to see you back! I’ve struggle since I Finnished the cleveland way in 2020 my last video was about 1/2years ago aswell and planning on coming back just not been in the right mindset for filming or editing! Mental health hasn’t been great what with the isuuse with my legs and feet. Hopefully be fixed this year as had a op in jan and still recovering.
Ah thanks man, I did see your feet pictures looked pretty rough man but I hope you are on the mend? Must be tough given how much you love being out, let's see about getting together to film this year at some point man it's looooong overdue!
@@paulsmithprimitivebushcraft yeh mate it’s so tough! I see the surgeon and physio tomorrow to see the next plan/ stage of recovery, hoping I can start to try to walk again as been none weight baring for 6/7 weeks now. But I know I can’t put full weight on it yet as I tried to do it abit yesterday. So who knows. Yes mate for sure it’s definitely way over due mate!
Ah sorry to hear about your mental challenges, my son isn't well at the moment so l'm empathising with you fully. Think you'll like using a proper camera setup, l use a Panasonic Lumix and mic and love it, the only downside for me is that it's very easy to look at the fold out screen rather than the lens 😄 Maybe as an idea consider some #shorts videos which are a challenge to squeeze info in in less than a minute. ATB.
Thank you Austin, I appreciate it and sending hugs through the ether your way to you both, it's not easy. Just uploading a video in 1080p at 60fps was like a dream come true haha I think it really helps make the videos watchable, always enjoy seeing what you are up to, I see a colab in our future haha! Much love man 💙🤜🏻
Gald to hear from you again my friend , I have changed the name i go under here, I am David Lee (Greek David) and I have been having similar problems and not out of the woods yet, for want of a better phrase. I promise not to be stranger a you rightly said three years back. Don't be in too much hurry to catch up, just pace yourself and take your time and settle into a routine with your videos. Dave
We all take our own direction and that naturally leads to shifting away from people now and again, but the fact that we circle back and get in touch now and again to me is the marker of a real friendship, one that transcends time, look forward to catching up with you soon keep on keeping on. 💙🤜🏻
