I guess he was expecting rubber stoppers on either side like a huffy. This dude dosnt know a fn thing about bikes. He went from a blaster to a quadrillion. The part you referred to as the oil pump is actually the power valve viewing window. You can see when it opens and at what rpm. You can fine tune it on the other side of the jug by turning a "screw" in or out.
Y’all need to stop engine breaking on them 2 strokes, making me cringe. Pull that clutch in when u get off the throttle and give it some flicks.....YOU ARE STARVING THE CYLINDER OF FUEL....hurting your motor and shortening the life of your top end
The only oil they hold is gear oil on the clutch side to keep the clutch lubed, and the other gears(depending on bike).. the cylinder/piston is not lubricated by oil sitting under the crank. This is why you mix fuel with 2 stroke oil, so when the fuel is burning in your top end the oil mixed in the fuel will lubricate the cylinder. That’s why they run best when you ride in high rpms, because the carb is open, letting plenty of “lubricating fuel” into the cylinder. So when you’re cruising at high speeds and let off the throttle, so the carb slide is at idle position, your piston is still moving up n down at a fast rate with minimal “lubricating fuel” getting into it.. this is why it’s important when you get off the throttle to pull your clutch in and give it some flicks. pulling the clutch in will obviously slow your piston down to idling rate, and the throttle flicks will keep it lubricated with mixed fuel.... as you can see this dude is constantly riding his 2smokers around on the throttle, off the throttle, on, off, and so forth, without pulling the clutch in ever. This is why his bikes always die.. and he never lets them warm up. A 2stroke runs totally different when cold
Bladeroo always use premium gas and synthetic 2 stroke oil, always let it warm up properly before you start ripping it. And research the correct gear oil for you clutch side case it defers for different brand bikes.
@@blade8823 I'm 38 years old and have ridden for 30-31 years maybe, and most of that time 2 strokes. Mostly 250R's, a couple banshees, a shitty blaster, CR250, and a few others along with some 4 strokes as well. But, what I was getting to, its so funny to see younger people look at 2 strokes like some big mystery. I remember when the first 400EX came out, I had bought a brand-new 98 warrior the year before it. That was the best 4 stroke really you could get at the time, then the 300EX, but I remember being pissed that I didn't wait the few months for the 400EX. Cause that pretty much ended up being the bike that started the whole 4 stroke craze. It was the first 4 banger that wasn't a dog. Then they kept getting better from there. And then they stopped making 2 strokes for the most part and here we are now. People don't even know how to start, ride, and maintain them. I just got out of the Army and started ridding more again and everything is so different. BUT, I still have my favorite bike, my '89 TRX259R, and I'd still put it up against ANYTHING today. Symptoms of a internal crack in the head, or head gasket causing a coolant leak into the oil. One test for this possible problem, remove the radiator cap and look into the radiator while kicking the kick starter. Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug first, though to keep it from starting. You should not see any bubbles or very little coolant movement while doing this. You can also test by removing the spark plug and pushing down on the kick starter and you should not see coolant squirting out the spark plug hole. Also the internal spark plug electrode should not be wet with coolant. Hope this helps.

Ok guys. Ive owned a few. Seen this one forsale down by me. The heads on 87 have 6 bolts. Looks like the water pump seal went out. Make sure your top gasket is indexed correctly! Plus its geared high you can hear it. I recommend the M10 studs in jug since you lose one stud for that year 88s and up have 7. Gear it lower for the high gear box on 87. Plus get a chain guard. Still nice machine. Got any questions ask me.
All of y'alls videos are good I love all of y'alls bikes I love all of y'alls quads I especially love the Honda cr 500 bike that things a monster bike out of all the other bikes that one is my favorite I love all of the videos y'all post
Omg most informative video ever he showed me brakes a hole that looks like a hole but isn't a hole then showed me where you can put oil and how much then showed me a sticker and finally he got out his tire thread measurement tool/his hand and on the front tire well it has tread ohh he likes the clutch....lol
I was coming here to make the same comment. lol the blaster wasn't a great engine. It had small ports and poor cooling. The lt250r is a much better machine
That black thing you measured with your hand in the beginning of the video is the cylinder the head is the non painted part on top. You have cracked cylinder ears on the back two cylinder mounts most likely. Causes a coolant leak and more importantly a lean condition that can melt down your top end. These bikes need a lot of modifications to be reliable and reinforcing the cylinder ears is one of the many. Welcome to Suzuki lt500 ownership!
the head nuts are new and usually flanged on cylinder heads i worked on, doesnt make sense to have unflanged nuts on it when mating two flat surfaces together.so im guessing its been apart recently, never seen one running before but was hoping for a far crisper sound from it and more response. hope its not a cracked cylinder or one thats been messed with. lots of trick parts on it. what is the engine from ? is it used in any other bikes?
Why is this comment section so toxic this guy is a good guy that is trying to show us stuff that is really cool he might need a little shifting practice but he can work on that just enjoy the video
You'll never get that coolant leak to stop. Been dealing with it for years and years. No one can figure it out. Wait till the head gaskets start blowing due to the undersized head bolts used on the cylinder. Threads are stretching. There's a fix using the 88 head but it requires machine work. Good luck man.
2 vintage, you're getting coolant into the cylinder from the head gasket or base gasket, as another viewer posted the studs are small and can't take high pressure from the sustained high rpms. if ya have coolant in your oil that means you have a sealing failure your in your bottom end cases between the crank and trans.hope this helps.
@@chadfolmar5900 Agreed.... One way to see if shes ready to rip is to put your hand on the cylinder to see if its warm once started and idling (For you 2 stroke newbs)
Too the people complaining about how he’s not getting into the power band. You’ve clearly never ridin a quadzilla, it’s a 500cc single cylinder it makes all of it power under 7000 rpm. The power band is pretty much instant. He was alway in it, these quads have pretty unnoticeable power bands and run a lot like a 4 stroke and have crazy torque. Yes I know this one was pretty clapped but the same thing applies.
Guys get this comment to the top it’s the intake manifold boot my banshee sounded almost the same and when I replaced the boot it ran like a brand new banshee
I used to race these in the late 80s in the open class atv motox. Amazing machine. One of the best ever made. People were getting killed on the 250r three wheeler so what was the answer ? Let’s add another wheel and double the engine displacement 😂 You have to love the 80s the total opposite of politically correct. Now or days there would be protest saying it’s not safe for my little Johnny. I still have an 87 mint condition. Check out Dr. Q he’s the guy you want to learn from about these machines. Throw a dirt bike throttle on that thing and get the rpms much higher and you will see what that there quad does. Enjoy
I had a similar problem with my old rm125 the radiator would be dry after every ride it always went into the bottom end and made the gear oil look like pink Pepto. Just go with all new gaskets base, head, and especially your water pump seal.
You should definitely get the proper nuts for the cylinder and make sure there torqued right. The coolant probably came from the radiator and sprayed all over the engine. Make sure its not overheating.
Nice, fast quad!! I love it!! You guys definitely need to keep it, but the sound it made at the end sounded pretty dang bad, I had a coolant leak on my dirt bike (2 stroke) and didn’t know it was leaking and it made that noise. Wound up i blew the top end but i hope that isn’t your case:(
This is a rebuild gone wrong, if coolant is in the oil the water pump seal is bad. My cousin had one of these things and I loved spanking him with my banshee😂😂😂. NO REFUNDS DUDE. Time for you to spend another$1000 to get it fixed right.😬😬🤯
$4000 for this bike,my God I remember all these bikes when they were new,you youngsters today are really nuts to pay that kind of money for a two stroke,I don't care what condition they are in,hey end of the day it's your money buddy,I hope you enjoy it,nice bike none the less!
😂The man-child in me is screaming "how can you work on them, take for a ride, and not keep them?" Watching this now that you have a chunk of land to ride vs on the street
A quadzilla with a head leak, ya don't say, the model with (5) 10mil cylinder head caps are apparently notorious for leaks and they fixed it by going to 12mm nuts I think.. maybe even a sixth stud, I can't remember, but beautiful bike, hope you get it running right, something on the cylinder seems to not be meshing right from what I could see in the video, the powervalve wasn't opening either and/or it was falling on it's face at that point and you just thought it was the Rev limiter.. Just My Opinion, I've only ridden one once that was a very tied looking quad and when the powervalve opened in third on the road it stood up smoothly, I could tell any lower gear would have been a violent onset of power, it was lovely..
I’ll bet it was spitting an sputtering because it was on reserve and your gas was getting low but I’m not sure...definitely gotta fix the coolant leak though
kingsman 1230 lol they are all slow! They changed nothing to make them faster from the 80s all the way until 06 when they stopped making them! Same bike with small changes! plastic in 03 along with hydraulic brakes

That looks so fun to ride ❤❤❤💓❤. Love ur vids

That's why you should check it yourself always
1:15 *it runs on Red Bull*
Omg most informative video ever he showed me brakes a hole that looks like a hole but isn't a hole then showed me where you can put oil and how much then showed me a sticker and finally he got out his tire thread measurement tool/his hand and on the front tire well it has tread ohh he likes the clutch....lol
Blasters aren't even compared to Lt250rs. Blasters are like yz80s minus the power valve and double the weight lol
I was coming here to make the same comment. lol the blaster wasn't a great engine. It had small ports and poor cooling. The lt250r is a much better machine
Thanks made the same comment
True blasters are slow for being a 200cc 2 stroke they have no power and gearing sucks
That ltr is a 500
I use to have a yellow 500 and my buddy had a 250r and we would rip...made me sell my banshee
She’s mint bro good buy not gonna lie... just a wee bit jealous lol good videos keep it up
that hose has a pin hole in it.when under pressure the hose is spraying it over the engine
seller done it when he wasn't looking cos he got haggled down too much.
Welcome to Suzuki lt500 ownership!
the head nuts are new and usually flanged on cylinder heads i worked on, doesnt make sense to have unflanged nuts on it when mating two flat surfaces together.so im guessing its been apart recently, never seen one running before but was hoping for a far crisper sound from it and more response. hope its not a cracked cylinder or one thats been messed with. lots of trick parts on it.
what is the engine from ? is it used in any other bikes?
antony sidney I agree.
Good luck man.
it sounds like he got more problems than the coolant leak when she wanted to quit lol. needs rebuilt
Oh yes I love the 2-stroke smell this is great!
I’ll give you 500 for it now
Steven Hill Damn that’s being nice
@@ERESMAMABICHO lol
Get you a hood screen in.. you won't have to worry about the radiator as much.. badass bike bro!!
2 vintage, you're getting coolant into the cylinder from the head gasket or base gasket, as another viewer posted the studs are small and can't take high pressure from the sustained high rpms. if ya have coolant in your oil that means you have a sealing failure your in your bottom end cases between the crank and trans.hope this helps.
the clubhouse could be the water pump seal in the clutch side
@@freetoride003 that is another possibility.
some boy kicking that up, without boots on
LET YOUR STUFF WARM UPPPPP
It was warm
Typical Craigslist deal, sellers be bullshitting just be upfront... karma takes care of it.
I kept rolling my eyes the whole video.
Then why watch the video moron 🙄
How you ride my Honda trx 250r would beat that
#19quad racer a 70cc would
Guys get this comment to the top it’s the intake manifold boot my banshee sounded almost the same and when I replaced the boot it ran like a brand new banshee
Always good when people know what they're talking about. #BikeLifeSavage 🤘
You mean the reed boot, right?
Yeah...after carb before intake. Vacuum leak. Huge difference and the bike will run lean and hot.
Bxn Me yep
I used to race these in the late 80s in the open class atv motox. Amazing machine. One of the best ever made. People were getting killed on the 250r three wheeler so what was the answer ?
Let’s add another wheel and double the engine displacement 😂
You have to love the 80s the total opposite of politically correct.
Enjoy
Thumbs up on that one, well said!
I just seen a quadzilla with a rebuilt motor for 1700
Quad bikes are mini off-road cars with no roof
Seems like it was boggy at top end?
Nolan Smagula they do that when they run out of gear
Nice bike you will get many years out of it they do break from time to time nature of the 2 stroke beast!!
Definitely not worth $4000 but nice quad
Its badass but I would never buy a used 2 stroke without some sort of hour meter for that much.
@@upshiftclutchups665 yeah it is sweet. Would maybe be worth 4k if it was titled
@Mike _HawkHurts thats crazy.
@Mike _HawkHurts yeah. I've been wanting a banshee. Im specific and i want an 06. But people want a fortune for them.
@Mike _HawkHurts yeah ive heard they are real quick. Would be nice to have
I had a similar problem with my old rm125 the radiator would be dry after every ride it always went into the bottom end and made the gear oil look like pink Pepto.
Wound up i blew the top end but i hope that isn’t your case:(
Sweet ride dude. Put some paddle tyres on it for winter.
I've tried that oh mine, didn't work nearly as good as your think it would
It looks cool, prolly gonna be sitting dead in the garage soon but hey it looks cool
This is a rebuild gone wrong, if coolant is in the oil the water pump seal is bad. My cousin had one of these things and I loved spanking him with my banshee😂😂😂. NO REFUNDS DUDE. Time for you to spend another$1000 to get it fixed right.😬😬🤯
So so cool and amazing. What a rush.
4 grand no title lmao
When you cracked it!!!!, You gotta spruce this up and keep it!!!!, I love this machine😍😍😍😍
Right, park this up and get the CR250 back together.
$4000 for this bike,my God I remember all these bikes when they were new,you youngsters today are really nuts to pay that kind of money for a two stroke,I don't care what condition they are in,hey end of the day it's your money buddy,I hope you enjoy it,nice bike none the less!
To be fair it’s a 2 stroke Quad. No more 2 stroke quads, I haven’t seen a 500 quadzilla for sale and every Banshee I see goes for like $3500+
You can't find these anymore. They're rare. Of course they were cheaper back in the day when they were making them.
I had one, in straight lines Its fun But corners like a school bus
😂The man-child in me is screaming "how can you work on them, take for a ride, and not keep them?" Watching this now that you have a chunk of land to ride vs on the street
First, Leak down test it. Use a spray bottle with water and a little dish soap, spray engine to look for leaks.
You should own a leak tester if you own a 2 stroke
^^^... learn it live it love it, can I get an amen
YZs in 80s/90s had Mono X suspension design. Honda = pro link. Suzuki = full floater. Kawasaki = uni- trak. All trademark names to this day!
The intro is the longest part most of us know what parts of the atvs are
LT500 looks great
I want that quad 😍😍😍👌👌👌👌👌👌😂😂😂
“ITP. Idk what that means.” 😂😂😂
You blew a head gasket do not start that bike without fixing it, very bad ordeal
anthony root riding like that if there’s coolant in the oil that baby’s going to lock up soon!
I've owned 2 lt500r's, there notorious for blowing jug gaskets. Get used to it. Also loves going through crank bearings, lol
EYYYYYYYOOOOOO
I rode a few zillas and that 1 is clapped no power
I got a kick out of how big the head was when he was holding the jug.. bad ass horse though!
That from u not knowing how to ride rookies
Your shifting it like a 4 stroke, all the power in that thing is when the Rs are screamin!
Not a 500
Shifts 2 seconds between each gear😂😂 “let’s see how long of a burnout I can do” and does the same distance and all the others
I’ll bet it was spitting an sputtering because it was on reserve and your gas was getting low but I’m not sure...definitely gotta fix the coolant leak though
Ur blaster is one of that old ones thats why it did not have a lot of power i got a 2006 one and it is fast as hell
kingsman 1230 lol they are all slow! They changed nothing to make them faster from the 80s all the way until 06 when they stopped making them! Same bike with small changes! plastic in 03 along with hydraulic brakes
@@07scoobywrx Then mine is probbaly big bored or something (if i spelled it wrong dont judge me im not english)
@@07scoobywrx didn't the 06 blaster come with that special electric intake rubber power valve bolted to the exhaust bypass linkage?lol
@@07scoobywrx lol. Same engine throughout the years. Only change js plastics like you said. Same thing with honda 400ex
@Aaron Rembert lol yup. Never really changed anything but that
Thanks for the great news.
