The Haix are also great for a wide foot box, but I genuinely think most people underestimate how much more efficient the freedom of movement that these offer helps on a long days graft!
hello and merry Christmas. I got the Scafell a few weeks ago, which I think is a very good shoe for the price, although next time I will order a size larger. Now I'm still looking for a light shoe for spring and summer. Based on your experience, can you recommend the Kayo for the summer? Greetings from the Westerwald/Germany
Yes mate definitely - super light, super flexible, I love em! …the rubber is thinner than most so might not last as long - a year on mine are starting to wear through - but personally I’d rather have good boots that wear out than bad boots that never wear in! :)
Great review. I have a question about sizing you may be able to help me with. I wear a size US 10 wide in the Haix protector ultra. In EU size I usually wear EU 44. On the Kayo website they say the EU 44 is a US 11. Not sure what I should go with. Do you have any input on sizing The Kayo compared to Haix? Thanks.
Hey mate, hope this isn’t too late to help! Haix are notoriously wide - and size up… The arbortecs are only a bit smaller (length, not width) - so I’d probably say the 44/11’s would be what you want 👌
my entire tread was wiped out within 7 months of everyday use on the kayos they are a comfy boot for sure, but i would only buy these to climb. If youre a groundsman do not waste your money the lifespan is quite disappointing
Thank you! Do they run on the large or small side? I wear US 10 1/2 which Arbortec doesn't make. For some reason they skip 10 1/2 so it's 10 or 11 for me. My new Meindl Airstreams EU44 are a tiny bit tight on width but ideal in length.
I’d say they’re true to size - I’m a uk 8.5 normally, so went for a 9 & they’re a touch too big - but same issue as you of no half sizes… Saying that, they’re really easy to tighten up to fit with the laces, so I’d go a half size above and tighten them up 👍
@@NotYourAverageTreeManso no problems on long working with spikes? The sole looks so flexible that I believe there is some pain after some hours in your foods.
Fantastic Review! Thanks so much for sharing. Some great information in there. Especially about the wide foot box💪

@@NotYourAverageTreeMan interesting, would love to give them a go.

I really value the flexibility - but yes, the tread is very thin - mine are going through after 8 months on the daily... bit of ground and climbing

Hey mate how are they in the hot days? Im currently in Haix protector prime and they're way too hot in the summer
Hey man they’re no worse than what I had before - but not exactly cool lol
How are they on spikes?
Nvm you just answered that 🤣
😂😂 …they’re not the best - there are boots with better seating/bigger drop off from the heel - but they do the job perfectly fine! :)
