You can catch this live by the Beat band, playing the 80s King Crimson stuff live with Adrian Belew and Tony Levin from this version of Crimson along with Steve Vai and Daney Carey. FYI - Crimson blocks most of their stuff.
1980s King Crimson were doing so many fun things with guitar sounds. Adrian Belew is a master in that department. "The Sheltering Sky" is a great example. Mind you, 1970s King Crimson is the really /really/ good shit.
King Crimson rule. Check out their debut album and their mid-70s trio era to see how different their sound can be. Robert Fripp has been the only constant member during the band's existence.
Hi…just found your channel with Rift. Listened to Punch you in the eye last nite, subscribed. Wake up this morning and there’s King Crimsom! Plus you won me when you told your subscriber to keep their donation money. Your intelligent insight mixed with passion for the music. Oh man you don’t know. Somehow you just became my favorite reactor. Top of the heap just like that. I’m going to be here for your Phish journey, first saw them in ‘89…yes I’m that old. Plus I’ve wanted to deep dive Gizzard so I’m going to go back and watch all those. Bravo my man. I won’t go into it but the timing of finding your channel has come at a point when my whole personal life has changed…thank you.
When King Crimson re-formed in '81 and released Discipline it was incredible. Seeing them live on the Discipline tour literally changed my guitar playing forever. I bought a Roland JC-120 that same week - even though I had recently spent a couple of grand on a Mesa Boogie (which was awesome too). All the guitar players that filled King Crimson audiences, must have done the same because the JC-120 became integral to the 80s sound. The Jazz Chorus 120 was the perfect pedal platform live.
The guitarist/singer is Adrian Belew. Besides King Crimson, he has recorded or toured with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, and Talking Heads, just to name a few.
King Crimson are one of the greatest bands of all time. Adrian Belew is quite possibly the greatest guitarist ever, nobody has even done it like him. Zappa and Bowie were fighting over his services. Adrian and Tony Levin (bassist here) are currently out on tour with BEAT, along with Steve Vai filling in for Robert Fripp and Danny Carey filling in for Bill Bruford on drums, covering the 3 albums from this era of KC. Mindblowing then and now, and definitely worthy of a very deep dive.
You should watch this whole show. Also, Adrian Belew (singing and guitar) and Tony Levin (bass) are currently on tour with Beat, playing the music from this era of King Crimson with Steve Vai playing Robert Fripp’s (the other guitarist) and Danny Carey on drums. They are incredible, and they do play this song.
You're in for a wild ride...so many eras, so much amazing music. My suggestions: Red (the drummer and Fripp, the only constant in the band, are in common with this track- but in my opinion, if you were to look up "heavy" in a rock dictionary, this track would be listed as the definition of a truly heavy power trio). And then Frame By Frame, where you'll hear the 80s incarnation you've just heard, shine their brightest. And yes, Adrian Belew is a demigod, as is Fripp. They're very different guitarists, but together they are unbelievable.
You will find a veritable trove of brilliant music if you do a deep dive into King Crimson -- various band iterations over fifty years, numerous styles, every musician is greatness in their own right. I just saw the latest iteration in concert a few days ago. Absolutely mind blowing. The other guy on guitar sitting in the shadows is one of the greatest and most unique guitarists in the progrock (and beyond) world. Just FYI.
React to everything related to rosé plz ...I loved how honest u r ..it's so hard to find honest reactors these days There are some recommendations to u : Gone On the ground Hard to love Without u If it's u Can u read my mind Living la vida pyshinco trailer Until I find u Let it be
I will be reacting to more Rosé, but because I have internet trolls that fraudulently report my videos to get them taken down when I react to her. My video reaction to Slow Dancing in a Burning Room is currently removed from RUclips and I'm having to dispute the false claim. As long as I have a Rosé video that's in a dispute, I won't react to more of her music for fear of losing my channel. When the dispute clears, I'll react again. Until then, I have to be careful.
@walterooski OK thank u +make a new account and start reacting to her there and put it here in ur bio plzz....can u react to space by Audrey nona for now
"Frame by Frame" would blow your mind.
