Indeed, Dame Sissel is one of many who make me feel great pride in being Norwegian. And to paraphrase another song, there is no doubt in my mind that she is the "Prettiest Girl in Oslo!"

One of the violinists bears a striking resemblance to Angelika Bachmann (Salut Salon)
Sissel's rendition is hauntingly timeless and as beautifull as herself.
Sissel og Greig ... en norsk gud og en norsk engel .... dyptfølt takk fra England

It is wonderful to see her wearing her National Honour of 2006 on her left breast. One of Norway's great citizens.

She's certainly a great ambassadress for Norway. I have never had so much interest for this country before becoming a "sisselfan" myself. I even discover (maybe it's only a coincidence) that, according to Google Translation, the name Bergby is pronounced in that country the same way my family name is prounounced in eastern Canada. I even wonder now if my DNA will show me someday a link between my Anglo-Norman ancestors and Norway! Anyway, we are all related and it's fun to discover more about people abroad when someone like Sissel attracts you attention on her own culture.

Actually, the Normans are the Norwegian connection as they were Northmen who came from Norway and settled in Normandy, hence the name "Normandy".

+Christine Beasley Finally, I learned through DNA testing that I am 35% Scandinavian; moreover, the results came with a map covering mostly the south of Norway. This can't come from my father's side. It's related to a mystery on my mother's side. The funny thing is that I discovered my deep admiration for Sissel and, because of her, my love for scandinavian songs before even knowing that it corresponded to a part of my biological heritage. Fascinating!
