Hot tip if you're dumb like me and don't watch the whole video first and you restart your computer after disabling the device, and the device no longer shows up in the manager to re-enable after the restart, simply unplug the el gato from the computer and plug it back in. It should pop right up in the device manager. Other than that hiccup, this worked on my brand new HD60 S when it didn't detect the signal from my Switch running through a splitter. Nice and short video, no nonsense, told me how to do it and it worked. The real MVP!
guys be sure to set "duplicate these displays" or "extend" in your display settings. Having it in only "display screen 1 " or "display screen 2 " only can cause the no signal issue.

I know this may be super late but where would we find display settings?
@@mreskrow2968 press the windows key on your keyboard and type "display settings" press enter then on the window that popped up, scroll down and search for "additional display settings" and click on it. It should be under "Related Settings" in big bold letters. Once you're in "additional display settings", scroll down and search for "Multiple Displays". Once at multiple displays, there should a drop down menu with the options to extend or duplicate the display(s) and show only screen 1 or 2. Choose the option relevant to your case. :)

What's funny is I had the same thing happen to me nothing helped. I had to go and turn off the hdcp on the ps4 before I connected it to the elgato then it finally worked.

Yes thank you. I found out that when it asks to re-start the computer you can hit no. Then just enable the software and it works.

FYI! The Red USB ports on the back of your PC are also USB 3.0... I had been using the Blue USB 3.0 port on the front of my case the 2 days trouble shooting this... Called Elgato Support and reluctantly tried the USB ports on the back... AND IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude! While getting my hookup set I had some troubles trying to figure out why the Elgato was blinking. Then I was looking up how to fix the issue and your video came up first! I turned off the HDCP on the PS4 and it had worked from there! Even in a HDMI Splitter! Thanks so much for helping me understand how to fix this issue!!

In Case you continue to have the same issues on PS4. i found that if i Turn of HDCP it starts to work. System > Enable HDCP > uncheck the box

Seen many videos that say this is the fix but I still can't record my PC, it's saying No Signal. I've tried literally everything.
You don't know if the issue was the in HDMI port of the Elgato BEFORE you check the PC. you find this by passthrough to the HDMI out and see if there is any signal coming from the source. If that is the case then it is PC related NOT BEFORE.
Hi so I just got my elgato for Christmas 2 days ago and I have been working on trying to get my elgato to to work for over 24 hours until I saw ur video ur video actually helped me thx so much
First time round I updated the driver through device manager, there was an update for me, yet this failed to fix the no signal. Second time round I disabled, reset and enabled this also did not work. Third time round uninstalled instead of disabled, reset and booted up OBS... it worked.

im on device manager and did the "sound, video and game controllers" setting and my HD 60 wasn't showing up, but its plugged in and both HDMI's are in and I'm able to play the game just fine, it's just not reading the capture card
Edit: I figured it out. The usb cable that goes into the tower was old and it wasn't reading properly, I ordered a new one now it's showing up

This guy is the goat. I have been fighting with my elgato HD60 Pro a lot lately with trying to play a console that's not necessarily supported (though it's not unsupported either) and this fixed my issue super quick.

HDCP in the ps4 system settings is usually the problem, disable that and bam, elgato will work.

(Elgato hd60 S, win 7 64bit) had it all set up and working with switch,ps4 and ps3 (with splitter on ps3) however, when i unplugged it from the splitter and tried to use only the elgato with the ps4 or switch it wouldn't detect the signal. Took me hours to figure out that it only works with the splitter now. I don't know why, because it was working without it at first and now it doesn't want to work without. So, if you tried everything like me, and do not want to upgrade from win 7, try a hdmi splitter.
Thank you so much ! No other fix would work, but this one. The only issue I had when I disabled and restarted was that my PC didnt want to start up anymore. Took me a few tries before I could get into safe mode and re-enable the capture card there. After doing this, I was able to start my PC up again. Just an FYI for anyone else who will get this issue. If everybody tested everything and still nothing,if you use splitters and all that just conect your console/pc to the capture,that was the problem for me,the thing is that i use switcher with 2 splitters one for ps3 hdcp shit and the other one to send signal to my uncle that he's like 10 metters fro me,i only put te console and it was working,maybe the switcher is about to die.

Guy if this does not work, go to google and type el gato drivers download your version and unplug everything and restart your pc, connect everything back and it should detect it.
Oh nevermind! I fixed it! Yaas! If it didn't work the first time, go back to Game Capture HD in Device Manager, right click, click on Update Driver, click Search Automatically For Updated Driver Software & BOOM! It should be updated and you can get the PS4 signal!

If its your first time using it and the game capture wasn't where he showed there is a tab that said "other devices" above it for me with an exclamation point and I was able to update the driver there and use it.

my hd60s just keeps disconnecting itself this elgato shit sucks...incase you were curious on why...I installed a new usb 3.0 drivers and it all worked. So then I installed a new usb 3.0 bus also I had more and could swap devices all the time.

Doesn't seem to work. The driver is now hidden with their newest update (View- Hidden) And can't be disabled- only uninstalled or updated.

Bruh, this just saved me a world of frustration with elgato and their shitty software, thumbs up. They definitely need to fix their shit.
for whatever reason when I go to my “sound, video and game controllers” the “Elgato Game Capture” doesn’t pop up and only the “Elgato Sound Capture” is popping up. It seems I don’t have the game capture software installed but I can access the application and see that it says “no signal”. All of my connections are in fine condition and there’s no damage to the device. I can’t seem to figure it out.

Though not was that I didn't have it helped me. In device manager I saw that the hd60s didn't have the drivers download. So I downloaded it and it worked

Disconnect the device and try using a different usb port to allow the pc to detect the elgato again....

This still didn't work, can you help me? I tried all the steps in this video i restarted and enabled then disabled the driver. I have messed with the cables change settings on my xbox. I also have restarted my xbox tons. I just can't get it to work.

If you tried changing new connectors and tried different computer ports and installing drivers and it still didn't work than the only way to know is to connect the elgato to a different computer. You might have a defective elgato if it doesn't work on the new computer.
The only other computer i have is to old and it has troubles running the el gate software and there is no way for me to check. I did get it working about a year ago. I remember having the same problem but somehow fixing it but i think i have tried everything that i tried before, so i don't think it's my el gate. But thank you for the help :)
