  • These lights are seriously small - but what's the tradeoff?

    I run both off a smallrig v-mount battery with pd power delivery. They work very well using this method.

    I've got both, and I'm still kind of afraid of the 100 watt light because of it's open grill design and all the heat warnings that came with. The extensive heat warnings made it seem like it was an unsafe product that they shouldn't have released but decided just to cover in warning stickers instead.
    I like the little 60 watt lights. Super compact. Quiet. I got the bundles for the them, so that got me the bones adapter and the little soft box cheaper.
    The little micro soft box really is not very efficient. I have tried using it as a hair light in some setups with some success. But I don't find it super useful.
    One feature I have found annoying is that I have some v-mount batteries that can output PD power, but you have to turn the PD power function on while it boots that function, and the 100 watt light also has to boot up its function, and both of them time out and won't talk to each other. Very frustrating.

      can I ask what PD V-mount batteries you're using? I have smallrig V-mount batteries and wanna use them with the 60W one. Also, why isn't the tiny softbox unuseful? Thanks

    It should be noted, the battery for the Molus light is $120 on it's own. With accessories, these lights start to get pricey quickly.

      Yeah, you really get a better deal buying the bundle that comes with the Bowens adapter and the battery. I did not get the bundle for the 100 watt light and regret it.

    Would love to mod those lights with a fan capable of cooling them down better. Hit us up if you'd like to work something out together.

    Is the G60 powerful enough to do say product photography instead of flash?

    I own one of each, the 60w and the 100w. The 60 is cute, but at that point you should probably just get the 100w. They're not really designed to be all day studio lights. But they are fantastic travel lights. I use them for corporate shoots, and throwing 100w of extra light in some office B-roll to compensate for bad office lighting is super helpful.

      How does the 60W light emission compare to a Godox 60W? Not even close?

    • @brandonwilson3507
      @brandonwilson3507 Год назад

      @@ÁzsiábaSzakadtam I'm not certain as I don't own a Godox60W. I own a Nanlite 60W daylight balanced, which are 2.5X times the size and they output more light for sure but are harder to pack for a plane trip. It's trade offs for sure, I wouldn't suggest these as anyone's studio or even starter lights but as supplemental lights that are easy to travel with they are great.
