A song that just holds up even to this day. The unique drum sounds is still one of a kind I feel as I've heard nothing like it before. What I love about this song is it's message. He's asking for forgiveness, telling her that he's only "human" and that he cheated while she was gone. In that moment, she surprisingly confesses to him that she also cheated and was "human". The tables have now turned, and she asks the same of him.
Why did watching this with you make me emotional? I think because it was such a big part of my life, and Human League as a whole. I remember at homecoming, one of the floats was blasting this and i was so impressed it wasn’t just pop or rock. Thanks for sharing.
I didn’t know this was JJ/TL! The whole intro sounds like a Janet tune! 🤯 Learn something every day. 🤣 I still prefer my early 80s Human League, but this is great.
There's only one word to describe this song and that is 'soothing'. It's something you'd like to hear one cool nights while you're all alone at home chilling by the fireplace. And to think that this was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis is bonkers. I mean my limited music knowledge would associate them with R&B and hip hop. But this song has got that unique sound to it. Not to mention it doesn't sound like it was released in the 80s. It sounds very modern and contemporary.
In my top 10 bands of all time. Phil's voice is great here though I do prefer to listen to their other tracks than this one. Overplayed maybe. Have we done Heaven 17 yet? The 2 band members that split away from the original Human League lineup. "Let me go" would be a good start.
Human League had little if anything to do with the writing of this or indeed the whole crash ablum, the tracks they did have a hand in(especially Oakey)are the best ones,on what is,for me,one of their worst albums, after Romantic? and Credo, the sound is so mid atlantic,im surprised james cameron hasnt done a documentary on it.
Beautiful song ... can't really miss with Phil Oakey's vocal - still gives me chills ... love that 80's fashion! Thanks guys ...👍
I'd forgotten how good this sounds. It must be 30+ year's since I last heard it.

New Jack sound
Nice song but way over the top American production, for me they were at there best early eighties Dare album more raw synth sound.

I never liked this song. It's too americanised and is extremely far from what they became famous for in Europe.
this was the first British band to make it big with a British genre called Electronica.
