Ow! Owowowowow!! My skin just crawled right off my bones with that pose with his hands coming out of his tummy! Arrrghhh... I reeeeallly need to get DS going again.... One of these days.. Cool stuff, Jay!
WOW! Thank You! I bought a mini-program to run inside DAZ to transfer poses and it's a total mess. If this does what you say (AND I can figure it out!), I will be elated! Also, I sub'd to your channel and wish you all the best! You're also a pretty funny guy, too, and I appreciate that! ;) EDIT: It WORKS!! Very simply, too! I'm typically reluctant to manually install anything related to DAZ, as I invariably put stuff in the wrong place, but this time it worked beautifully. My only gripe (and it's not with the developer) is that poses are often gender-specific, in that male poses will usually not work with female figures, and vice versa. In any case, loads of love to Mr. Guru and *AgentUnawares!*
Very cool, thanks a lot. I used a script in the past that would fix the angles, but I lost it when I re-installed DAZ Studio and forgot to back it up and I fixed the poses manually since then which is a pain in the... head ;-), Cheers!
Yes that's possible! I don't know if there's a handy script available like the one from Agent Unawares, but it's just a matter of adjusting the arm/leg bends with these values: www.versluis.com/2021/02/g3t-to-g8a/
Any chance you could do a tutorial for "Horizontal Lines On Character" when rendering in DAZ studio? It might be something to do with SSS at certain zoom levels.
@@WPguru Thats ok, I've not seen this before either. I found a work around. That is to reset all the render settings to default and just merge in the character as subset.
@ The WP Guru, Thanks for your tutorial, I've managed to install the pose converter and got it working for Genesis 8 male and female but Genesis 3 does not work. Is that correct ?
It’s only one way, so you can’t put a G8 pose onto Genesis 3 with this. There is another converter out there that does it though, but I haven’t got a link at hand.
@@WPguru Thanks so much for your reply. I was aware of your exciting tutorial for conversion gen 8 to 8.1 and I actually already converted a couple of my 8 figures. before watching this tutorial. I'm just hoping a dev will be able to create a program to make the process even more simpler.. :D ✌🏻
This is amazing, just started trying DAZ Studio and came across your tutorial. Unfortunately I can't figure out in which folder these two new folders go. I have tried the folder that you mentioned in a comment below but this doesn`t work as well :( Would really appreciate any kind of tips. Cheers!
The clothing just follows the figure, it seems to auto adjust itself nicely. The pose converter essentially adds the correction from T to A pose by lowering the arms and adjusting the legs.
How do you find these things? I''m totally drunk, I just watched 3 minutes of this video, downloaded the stuff and it works wonderfully! Thanks!!! You are my Guru!!! Greetings from Argentina!!!!
Does it matter in what folder of Daz 3D library you install it? Because there are two path in my computer. One is where all the presets go, and other is where the content go.
It doesn't matter, as long as Install Manager and DAZ Studio both know about the folder, the installed content will work. By default they give you two, the main one is in Public Documents, the other one is in your private Documents folder. They do that so you can save your own scenes into one, while using the other for store content. You can use this as a starting point or create your own libraries if you wish.
Thanks for sharing the video. Unless I’m missing something, the script works great as long as the character stays in DAZ, but since it’s applying morphs, an exported FBX still has the “messed-up” arm problem. Does anyone know the root of bone problem and know any way to resolve it. Unfortunately, there’s a bunch of animation products for Genesis 2 and 3, but not much for Genesis 8. On another issue, the sliders don’t appear in my Posing menu, instead they are in the Parameters menu…
Hi Bruce, the Genesis 3 and 8 characters have different default rotations in the shoulder and thigh bends. You can dial them in manually, which is what this product does (it's not a morph as far as I know, just controls the joints). Here are the values for manual adjustments: www.versluis.com/2021/02/g3t-to-g8a/ The dials are only available in the Parameters menu, it's the correct behaviour as it's not a morph.
@@WPguru Thanks for the reply! I'll have to figure what's happening. When I import the FXB file into Cinema 4D everything is fine except the arms. Visually the bones look like they are in the correct position, but the mesh is all twisted which implies the orientation is no longer aligned with the weight map. That's what made me think the script was using a morph.
Dear guru :) How do I find the directory? I tried installing it but it doesn't show up like yours. Which folder is it called and what subfolder should it go under? I see things like runtime - scripts - etc.
Copy the contents into that folder you have (the one containing runtime, data, etc). That folder is your DAZ Studio Library. Everything that's in the ZIP file needs to go in that folder. The easiest way I know how to do it is to right-click the ZIP file, then choose where to extract it to (choose your DAZ Studio Libray folder). It's like installing content from Renderosity. Good luck!
@@WPguru Thank you so much for all your videos Guru! Daz is still tough to use, and I have watched many of your videos for a while now which has given me a better understanding. I have not bought content off renderosity yet :)

I've been doing this the hard way. Hasn't stopped me from using G3 poses though. lol Thanks for the Vid. Definitely going to DL that!
Me too LOL, I even made notes on how to do this: www.versluis.com/2021/02/g3t-to-g8a/

this is an awesome add on! Thanks
Thank you!
really just shocking that DAZ never got around to building a proper pose/animation retarget feature into their flagship app
how would that make them more money ?
Can I do the other way around? Like, Gen 8 to Gen 3?

Can you show the detailed sequence of daz g3m pose input?
For the male version, the installation is the same. The slider will show up just like it does on the female figure.

@@WPguru Perfect, that's it! Thanks so much for your support.
This slider seems to have disappeared in more recent versions of DAZ Studio. At least, I don't have it.
That slider is not there by default, you must install Agent Unaware's converter morph for it to show up (link is in the description).
