as far as I know this wad always a common practice for some "antique" shops with furniture. They beat the pieces up to make it look old, so they fake it. Why not doing it with a thumb ring :D but of course we all know, what you send out will come back to you :)
Awesome advertisment to buyers how to avoid fake items. 👍 Another rule should be: carve some birdy or smthng in latin script and tell it is Roman archer"s thumbring. Excellent exemple on how does it work, buddy..👍 Vinegar and burrying in the ground is another question. Most attractive fakes are black bronze thumbrings with cubes or deep carvings visibly done by machine 😁🤘 Thumbs up for video. Hope ppl will understand your point and sarcasm about fake "Roman", "Byzantine", "Phoenician" or "Persian" thimb rings who circulate on ebay and similar ones.
Thank you buddy! Vinegar takes time , it is not cost effective. Oxidizer works in seconds ,like shown on video. Of course there are more than one way about it.
Good video to understand how to avoid buying fake thumbring. I just hope it won't encourage people faking thumbrings. Damage is done to research if so well faked that we believe it is true ancient and people are copying it assuming it is real...
My idea was to raise awareness about how easy it is to fake them. I guess, my point is ;don't buy antique thumbrings. There's a lot of fake thumbrings on market, almost all of them. By buying them ,we're spurting bad guys in their business.

It is industry on its own.
However, there's always someone who feels lucky 😉
Very interesting! Looking forward to a part 2 of this. :)
