I just love how “world-building” these soundtracks are. It’s almost like the entire teyvat at some point heard a single short tune and each region adapted that tune into something using their own instruments and it gets better and better every single time.
Yeah it's awesome how the Photon of Fluctuation leitmotif morphs according to the region, it helps give the sense that all of Teyvat is one connected world
This even gets better when you realize the parts that dont have the Leitmotif are the parts that are the most disconected from Teyvat (Chasm, Enkayomiya)
Theme 3 is the legendary Fibonacci time signature nerds are obsessing about right now. Signature changes every measure: 1/8, 1/8, 2/8, 3/8, 5/8, 8/8, 13/8, 21/8 then loops back.
The climax building from 2:20 to 3:03 might be my favourite thing ever. The French horn counterpoint behind the repetitive motifs sounds so majestic and epic.
I hated this repetitive melody so much when i was fighting chicken mushroom boss at first. But then i think to myself "idiota , listen to the whole thing, they definitely hidden something good later". And they didnt disappoint me
as a muslim i absolutely adore this soundtrack, i had to listen to it in isolation and it's so good my family thought i was getting into our traditional music lol

I didn't know he would AOE the whole map ( yes, not a part, but the whole map) when his HP is low and I had to hover on the wind glider for the rest of the fight.
Ive heard it once, since I usually am too lazy to kill mobs in an area ive already been in, I just walk past all of em and they just constantly chase me until the next set of mobs spawn beside me and the battle theme just continues.
honestly it's a curse being a genshin battle bgm, on one hand the bgm are the best in the game, but on the other hand, the actual battle either ended too fast or you're too focused on the mob to enjoy the bgm :')
Or the music too epic for the mob that you are fighting against. 1 single hillichurl aggro and throwing rocks at me while this music blaring in the background is kinda funny.
Use underleveled character for challenge and longer battle, or use low level artifact while exploring, I love doing it coz you also tend to missed seeing enemy skill and animation if you kill them too fast
Best way to enjoy the exploration is to shelve your abyss teams and play the game with underleveled or bad characters so you can enjoy combat in the overworld. For sumeru I shelved ayaka and Mona and pulled out lv 70 DPS fischl and collei. Worth
Music is flowing and flowing and then SIKE, that traansition after 2:20 just happens and that epic melody sends chills down your spine... I swear Hoyomix are so good at this.

ruin drakes is the best I can think of rn flying and grounded ones tank a good amount, there's two elemental lawacurls up in a arena looking thing in the bottom left, lastly from memory there are a few ruin graders here and there.

@The Lonely Proto it's in ruins now, but it IS a zone. The city is nothing but rubble. There are parts of it, like the forgotten kingdom in The Chasm. The Hidden palace in Dragonspine. Etc.
Genshin OST is really good at making some unusual(uncommonly heard) music grow on you. Not to offend anyone, the fourth battle theme was a bit weird for me(because of not getting used to this type of music}, but after hearing and hearing it again, i've gotten addicted to it and I've been searching for these type of music since. Something about it feels really different. It's commendable that Genshin has shown alot of different cultural music and it's awesome.
Oh that's interesting, cuz the fourth theme (you're talking about 12:17, right?) is actually among my favorites! Or to be more accurate: I love all the themes equally, except for the third. I feel it doesn't have the same energy or drama as the other tracks, but that's just my personal taste! 7:03 I feel an immediate sense of grandiosity together with some goosebumps when I was going through some Sumeru domains and hearing track 2's modulation to another key. Track 2 is clearly one of my favs.
Despite everything, Yu-Peng Chen and the HOYO-MiX team came out on top every single time. The use of the Sitar has to be my most favorite part in the songs that use them.
they quite literally did not have to go this fucking hard with the music of Sumeru specifically . I don't really play gacha games or anything like genshin usually but this game is keeping me hooked rn simply because running around sumeru triggering fights but not killing anything has become my favourite pastime.
Theme 2 is hands down my favorite of the battle themes. I could be watching my team getting killed when you get around to the 5:25 and 6:40 marks, I just get hyped in that build up.
9:50 theme is the first one I heard in Sumeru; when walking through the entry in the Chasm, I got targeted by some random enemy from above but couldn’t find it. This is the theme that started playing and kept going because the enemy wasn’t there. Turns out it was one of the wild Sumpter Beasts on the other side, lol. Not sure how I entered its targeting range but this theme was a treat! It’s one of my favorites following the first boss theme.
Simply amazing, speechless, immaculate, spectacular, show stopping. I'll never ever stop expressing the love I have for genshin battle music, especially Sumeru ones. As a South Indian player, hearing the traditional instruments and styles from my country in my fav game is just soo special

I love these so much, I listen to them while I shower. I even have a lamp(yes probably not safe to have lamps in humid environments, don't do that pls) and I turn it on green and dance while I brush and condition my hair.
The second theme's 7:03 to 8:12 is such a grand and magnificent piece of music. I usually complete domains under 2 mins so I don't get to hear this part of it, but once I was afk for some time and when I returned my ears were blessed with this. Thank you Yu-peng Chen for this artful soundtrack. Edit: Also realized it contains part of the ost from the archon quest with Nilou and Dunyazard so now it's both grand and emotional GOD I LOVE THIS GAME
I've never heard the first, but I have heard the others and they fucking SLAY! Absolutely epic. I spent more time everywhere else but for the life of me can never recall their battle themes. But Sumeru? I am vibing out to it during play. So damn good.
I really wish the first track was part of the overworld battle themes, but I think it's only in the domains or at least I never heard it in-game, that one is my favourite of them all, I love the rhythm and the melodies, and boy I can't seem to get enough with 2:30 and it's buildup from 2:20.
i loved 100% ALL nations, and this was my favorite nation to explore! Sumeru is overall my favorite nation! unfortunately that's when I was in my phase of being so tired of the stories so I hardly know anything about the stories. but the music, environment and exploration was such a blast, and a lot of it is thanks to the music and my love for nature
Sad the first music only plays when you fight the Jadeplume, I wish it was a classic Battle Theme. I think it should've take the place of the third song instead, which I think is the less "battle theme" of all and fits more for a boss.
Man the second track is gorgeous, honestly i think that there are better themes, like the Inazuma or liyue one, but its still spectacular, i'm now waiting for a new sumeru weekly boss's theme, hope it'll be beatiful

I love these so much, I listen to them while I shower. I even have a lamp(yes probably not safe to have lamps in humid environments, don't do that pls) and I turn it on green and dance while I brush and condition my hair.

The second theme's 7:03 to 8:12 is such a grand and magnificent piece of music. I usually complete domains under 2 mins so I don't get to hear this part of it, but once I was afk for some time and when I returned my ears were blessed with this. Thank you Yu-peng Chen for this artful soundtrack.
Edit: Also realized it contains part of the ost from the archon quest with Nilou and Dunyazard so now it's both grand and emotional GOD I LOVE THIS GAME

I've never heard the first, but I have heard the others and they fucking SLAY! Absolutely epic. I spent more time everywhere else but for the life of me can never recall their battle themes.
But Sumeru? I am vibing out to it during play. So damn good.

I really wish the first track was part of the overworld battle themes, but I think it's only in the domains or at least I never heard it in-game, that one is my favourite of them all, I love the rhythm and the melodies, and boy I can't seem to get enough with 2:30 and it's buildup from 2:20.

i loved 100% ALL nations, and this was my favorite nation to explore! Sumeru is overall my favorite nation! unfortunately that's when I was in my phase of being so tired of the stories so I hardly know anything about the stories. but the music, environment and exploration was such a blast, and a lot of it is thanks to the music and my love for nature

Sad the first music only plays when you fight the Jadeplume, I wish it was a classic Battle Theme. I think it should've take the place of the third song instead, which I think is the less "battle theme" of all and fits more for a boss.

Man the second track is gorgeous, honestly i think that there are better themes, like the Inazuma or liyue one, but its still spectacular, i'm now waiting for a new sumeru weekly boss's theme, hope it'll be beatiful
