I did a taxi ride in 2013 for my 50th birthday and I sat in the radar operators seat. There was no window to look out of, it was the best seat. Without any distraction I closed my eyes and tried to imagine just what those young men, those heroes went through on each Op, when the throttles were pushed forward and the Merlins roared louder. I tried to imagine but I just could not come anywhere close. I spent the rest of the ride with tears flooding down my cheeks, as they do now. I tried to imagine but I could not. It is not about the ride, it is the remembering. These men were the true heroes, remember them and wear your poppy with PRIDE. Lest We Forget.
