This is one of the world's great runs. Unfortunately, it is rarely groomed. Be sure the conditions are good, because once you're on it, you're on it for the duration.
One Of My Favorite At Whistler….Just Did It In March This Year….For Some reason had a lot of Moguls this time, maybe because they got some snow that week.
Whistler-Blackcomb gets so many skiers on the weekend that the groomed runs become icy by the afternoon (when this was filmed). Doesn't matter if it's been a powder day. I've experienced powder days at Stevens Pass where the groomers became ice by the afternoon, and it's the same problem. This video too, it snowed some the night before, but still. Unless it snows after the runs are groomed, the ice can't be avoided.
Considering I don't live in Seattle anymore, it's a little more difficult to get there now. As for Hidden Valley, maybe I can get my family to film it if they come up on a weekend.
Even if you were to carve, it would be impossible for anyone to make it down this run without stopping and without tired legs. Remember, this run is almost four miles long, with 5,000' of vertical. Unless you stop frequently, this is going to be a strenuous run for anyone, no matter your athletic abilities, and whether you carve or not.

Once below the Highway 86 trail, yes. I have seen what it's like ungroomed, I was expecting it to be rougher than it was in this recording.

Cool video....If you are willing to go this fast then learn to carve turns and your legs wont get tired!
