I hate the one saying it but 120 USD for what is a D1 ESP32 with a 5V power supply and a PCB with some GH connectors is absolutely insane. That is easily 8 if not 10x the cost, and I know this because I have designed many PCB boards myself.
Just to be clear, Electrolytes do support animation on the front headlights, just not while going forward. I know that’s what you meant, but just wanted to clarify. :)
for us DIY VESCies, lighting can make my builds 2-3x more difficult and easily 2-3x the amount of time in the build. Gonna be trying out VESC Express with avaspark rgb mini for my next build, hope it goes well. Ive had luck w eric uglands controllers and buck converters too! Happy Floating🤙
Heavily depends on the kind of controller you use, the ubox and the thor controller all have dedicated ports for accessories and lights (5v and 12v) so if you have one of those controllers you can effectively just plug in to those ports and you have lighting. With controllers like the focer, you do need to have a separate lighting controller, which adds to the complexity.
Did you have any issues with connecting to VESC tools, FLoaty, or Float control? Apparently someone on FB and myself had issues where the Floatprints was drawing more power and we couldn't connect. There's a workaround but not sure why I'm going back into the controller box to splice some wires.
Nothing like that. I did have issues with staying connected to the Wifi for the RGB controller, but the BT connection to the GT-V VESC controller has been solid. For the wifi connection, I know our phones will disconnect if it doesn't see an internet connection tho.
The RGB zoom-in is awesome!
Hell yeah. RGB the world, man.
Another great review Mr. Ginter ✊ Keep these reviews rolling bro!
Sweet trick with the macro lens. Always sharing the knowledge, and l love the new colorful look!
I rarely use that macro lens, but when I do...it sure does come in handy!!
Always good times with Ginter! Thank you good sir!
Great video, I’m interested in doing this to my board

Yea, I only briefly looked at those other options. Once I build out the XR-V, I'll have to see what else is available for that board.
