Scantrol Active Heave Compensation is a precise, efficient and safe control system for all winches and cranes, used for subsea installations.
Scantrol AHC is an Active Heave Compensation control system for winches, cranes, LARS, wellhead intervention in subsea operations. The system controls the winch to eliminate vessel motion that would otherwise be transferred to the load.
Scantrol AHC includes an MRU (motion reference unit) measuring vessel heave, pitch, and roll motion. The system adapts to varying load and operating conditions to maintain safe and efficient compensation without overloading the winches.
Scantrol AHC gives the winch operator precise control over the load, even when operating in rough sea conditions. This results in increased operational time and minimized weather-related downtime.

This screenshot gives you a continuous overview of both the vessel motion and a
    percentage compensation of the load.
Related to an increasing interest for active heave compensation systems and
its advantages. Scantrol has been focusing on developing an efficient and
accurate control system for use independently of weather conditions.
This video shows one of our projects in the deep waters outside Angola where the
Vessel Russell type was operated by Oceaneering to do subsea installations
and maintenance work. This is one example of the areas where active heave
    compensation makes an important difference.
First, the winch lowers down, the tools for the operation on the seabed.
Then the ROV picks it up and fastens it to the equipment which is being replaced.
This requires precise control of both the winch and the ROV operators.
To make this operation possible independently weather conditions. A new active heave control system was installed on the vessel. This results in advantages such as increased
    operational time and safety.
This new ACE winch with Scantrol active heave compensation was installed on Russel Tide.
Scantrol active heave compensation is controlling the winch to eliminate less motion being transferred to the load.
Even in moderate swells, the vessel motion can be four to six meters making work on the seabed challenging.
With Scantrol active heave compensation the winch operator has precise control
over the load. Also when operating in rough sea conditions.
This is the result for working on 2350 meters depth without using active heave compensation.
In this case, the vessel motion is about four meters as we can see the motion is transferred to the load. in comparison, there is roughly no vessel movement affecting the load when the active heave compensation is switched on.
    The system includes an MRU,
Measuring the vessel heave pitch and roll motion.
This flexible system can be delivered in different configurations to both electric and hydraulic winches.
The winch operator has precise control and can heave lower precision to the load without an
    influence from the vessel motion.
Scantrol active heave compensation adds value for your winch
    safe and efficient
    precise control
    increased operational time
