I’m currently lemon lawing my plaid. Similar issues but I had way more exterior problems. Been in the shop for 70 days and no one started working on it yet. Glad to get rid of it. Definitely not going back to Tesla again.

The sped up driving segments mess with my eyes and really are not needed.
I would keep an eye on the drivers door rubbing thru the paint, my neighbor had the same problem and the car has been back twice for door hinge adjustment issues.
I'm not impressed with E cars at all but if you like them thats all that matters.

Is imo I would have not left the dealer with that car in the condition they delivered it to you in the first place. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! Even though it’s fast I personally think Tesla sucks! Thank God that dealer was good. This is why I haven’t purchased one yet. Happy motoring Bro. If that’s what we can call it now. lol

I was a detailer at Clearwater Mitsubishi, back in the early 90s. Every new vehicle and any serviced vehicle that chose the service, was washed and Teflon waxed, tires and wheels washed and confitioned. Interiors were vacuumed and the vinyl or leather were conditioned. Glass cleaned inside and out, and Teflon waxed on the exterior.
Streaks were unacceptable on any surface.
Granted, base vehicles received less attention to detail than the improved or custom, but the standard was 'remnant and streak-free' or we'd go on report.
My opinion on your Tesla experience:
Flaws = Disgruntled employees bent on retribution for Twitter. 2022 is NOT the height of American craftsmanship and work ethic.
Mediocre Service = Low Standards, No Supervision and/or EOE and no decent people applying for the job. Disgruntled millennials who hate capitalism, and begrudge you a purchase they will never work hard enough to earn for themselves.
People who enjoy the work they do, and take pride in the fruits of their labors tend to produce output that speaks well of them, and nurtures a good reputation.
Picketing socialists, on the other hand, only take pride in redressing illegitimate grievances by disrupting the whole of society and demanding we all stop ignoring their [incessant] plight and jump onto their bandwagon, bound for '⚒️Utopian🌈Springs⚒️'.

Hello Jared, big fan of your channel Guns and Gadgets and now Freedom Garage. Congrats on your purchase of your Tesla. As a former car hauler in the bay area of California, I was fortunate enough to haul Teslas out of the Fremont California facility. Part of the hauling process was to inspect the vehicle before it ever made it on my truck and I must say I found a lot of irregularities as far as quality control, and as yourself, I also thought of buyers paying out all this money and this is the kind of quality they're paying for? It just didn't seem right. Unfortunately it starts from the plant and it seems as though there's no final quality control inspection as the vehicle rolls out the door. I can point it out as part of my inspection, why can't they? Don't get me wrong, I think they're great vehicles just not impressed with their quality control.

When you purchase a new vehicle at any price it should be as nice as it can be when it's delivered. Service people should be happy to fix any problems because they get reimbursed from Tesla. When I sold new Honda Motorcycles, we would go over them with a fine tooth comb to make sure they looked great. The only customer I hated was the rare one that would berate the employees if some little thing was under warranty and needed repair. No call for that. Thanks

Test drive one sometime. The instant torque is so addictive... You can feel gas cars in front of you working thru the gears as you linearly accelerate behind them... Nothing like being able to go 155+ MPH in first gear nearly completely silently...and while the cars are a bit heavy, that battery being below the centerline of the wheels really makes it feel very planted in corners...and driving down steep mountain roads you won't be braking, not braking, braking, not braking... Just modulate accelerator and watch your battery charge up. Regenerative braking is awesome not only from an energy point of view but safety. If your brakes failed you could safely keep the car under control with just the drag from the regen.

Nice car! Looks like they did decent work. You're right to expect things to be done properly, ESPECIALLY on a new car purchase. Unfortunately, QC has gone down over the years significantly. I used to work in a shop, and part of the job was receiving products, checking everything out and only signing off on things that weren't damaged. What sucked was, much of the metal/material was wrapped in cardboard, and it would often be filled with metal shaving that would scratch the hell out of everything, but you couldn't see it until you take it out of the package. Too many people out there now that just don't care about other people's things.

I remember going to the dealer with my brother to pick up his brand new 98 Camaro SLP. It had a sign in the window that said DO NOT TOUCH, WASH, or DETAIL! It was covered in dust! My brother had it done with a special paint job like a metallic black & he didn't trust the dudes at the dealer to wash it correctly or use the proper rags to avoid spider webs in the paint. Yeah, my brother is SUPER anal about that car. Takes him hours to wash & detail it. He won 1st place 3 years in a row at the chevy car show with that beast. Oh yeah 6 speed manual trans TON OF FUN!! But he still won't let me smoke the tires. He let me drive it one time on my birthday and he gave me the look of death because I chirped the tires shifting into 3rd LOL!!

Back in the day, in the 80s, I worked in a Chevrolet dealership. I worked in a body shop, rubbing cars out. I ended up in a new car department cleaning new cars, and sometimes prepping them. I personally think that is unacceptable, with the drivers door hitting the fender. I can’t believe someone would be that stupid and not even see that, let alone hear the noise. I realize that we’re all humans and we do make mistakes. But that is pure neglect and should’ve never happened. I don’t care how much money you spend for a car. It’s a good idea that you’re taking it to your friend who can check the paint. I’ve had a lot of experience in paint, I’ve never done any painting per se, but I have the experience of rubbing out cars and-know not to break the blend. I’ve seen so many cars that had paint work done and I can see exactly where it was painted….most people can’t spot it!… I love your new channel, keep up the good work! Thanks😎

Keep an eye on your front camera over time. Mine hazed up pretty bad, had them pull the camera and clean the glass in front of the front camera modules. 2017 Model S owner, have had a few issues here and there but it's still the most fun car I've had... My biggest problem with it is how low it rides... Coming from a 2008 4Runner V8 That 4-5" ground clearance can be painful. I've smacked the battery pack on speed bumps a few times, and pulling out of steep sloped entry/exits for parking garages can be nerve racking, esp if you have 5 people in the car. Am pondering a Model X for the next car. Also let me know how your screen holds up. The portrait mode displays had issues with the screen yellowing all around the borders (But they can UV light it for a day or so to clear it up)... Oh and expect your daytime running light 'eyebrows' to fail, be sure to check those before your comprehensive warranty is up, they'll eventually fail anyway but good to get it fixed one last time on Tesla..

Say what?? On a side note, I had a guy driving about 25 MPH on a 50MPH road with ALL of his lights off... Car slowed down suddenly (Was on Autopilot) and I was like what the heck,....then saw the car. Have also had the car assume control (When I wasn't even in autopilot/cruise) and steer out of the way of a car that suddenly drifted into my lane. Had this happen 2-3 times. It's a weird feeling as the steering wheel goes slack sorta like you hit a patch of ice.

This was your hard earned money, spending 100K + on a car, so "YES", you have every right to expect a pristine product upon purchase, and when there are issues like what you have experienced, there should never be any hesitation on the sellers part to go above and beyond any hurdles required for its' resolution..... Please know that I really enjoy your gun/2A content and I really appareciate what you are doing for the community. I would consider myself slightly to the right of Atilla The Hun...
Now, with all of that being said....
You really need to be more clear and provide more detail on home charging... For example: you didn't even mention that the 4 MPH home charging was a 110V outlet. (I get 5 MPH through my GFCI in the garage btw...), you didn't mention that you can get 28 MPH charging at home through a basic 50 A outlet [without buying *anything* else from Tesla]...
Also, you could have broken down the cost of home charging... Here in S FL we pay $.12/KWh so a full fill up is less than $13......
I don't mean to sound like a dick, but you are reaching *a lot* of people [on the right] that would never otherwise even consider a Tesla because... "EV BAD! NO SOUL! VROOM VROOM GOOD!" and on such a controversial topic as EVs, you really need to provide more info more clearly.
Please read this in the manner in which it written... Trying to help others learn about the benefits of an EV! It is the future!
This is coming from a gun toting, freedom loving Gear Head that has had over 10 cars that I personally built and all had between 1000 RWHP and 1700 RWHP..... I get it.
I'm glad your Plaid is fixed! I also had the gray goop upon deliverybof my Plaid... Like you, I had a couple of small issues that they fixed over a week. I too had a M3 loaner...
Elon has admitted that there are still some panel gap/quality issues as well as service issues that he is aware of and actively working to fix. The man is trying to save civilization but still acknowledges his shortcomings and is committed to trying to address them...
For those of you that are reading this and might want to learn more about Tesla, I recommend following Rob Mauer (Tesla Daily) and Steven Mark Ryan (Steven is a douche of gargantuan proportions, but he is very very smart and cuts through the media BS & FUD on the daily) here on RUclips.

Gosh that is annoying with an over $100K car and then add the hour drive, I don't think I'd be very happy.
It'd be nice if Tesla hired an outside group to check QC before the cars leave the factory. Seem like great products but with some pitfalls - repairs and parts, panel gaps, paint
As CA just outlawed ice cars from being sold new come 2025, maybe Tesla's service network will grow to a more reasonable size. But, with being the highest value company IN THE ENTIRE WORLD, they need to up that fir and finish.

The fact that it’s proven electric vehicles at this time and day have a larger carbon footprint than gas. I’ll pass. As well as the fact I drive cross country a few times a year. I’d literally have to add days to my trip just with charging time. 👎🏼

Ray with The XRing channel bought a Model Plaid Tesla recently. He used to be a driving instructor for Mercedes Benz. Listen to him talk about driving his Tesla vs the best cars Mercedes ever built. He could not say enough about the acceleration and handling of the Tesla. If love to see him put his Tesla through a road test at the Mercedes facility in NC. He not only is a great shooter, but a fantastic driver!!!
