@RetroToyEscapades I think the original John Carpenter Halloween had prof Loomis say it like that too so theyre in good company, which reminds me, Oíche Shamhna Shona duit 🎃
I think the price is perfectly reasonable for the quality. I collect MAFEX figures and it's the same deal with those. It all comes down to who is making it, what the quality is and how much they usually charge. Mondo isn't cheap and it would only be controversial if they charged the same price as their 1/6 scale which is $200 a figure (or sometimes more). Getting both figures at 1/12 scale, which I prefer, for $200 is a bargain.
I pre-ordered the deluxe timed edition but one thing that bothers me is that Slimer albeit it comes with a stand is too low? He was always mostly at head level with the ghostbusters as I recall?!🤔👻🚫☃
Just a thought...... This is $101; so the entire set of all 4 Ghostbusters will set you back around $400++. In comparison, the Haslab Set (different aesthetics) will set you back around $400 too.........
I've invested in quite a few figuarts and a few mafex figures but sometimes even those are priced as low as thirty bucks but my point is just because other companies sometimes charge $100 plus for a single figure doesn't mean every figure needs to be and "well they're doing it" is no excuse to charge so much!... And hasblow charging $400 for an ecto and a few figures isn't helping either, technically this is hasblow's fault for abandoning the 6 inch plasma series line before getting to gb2, the real and extreme Ghostbusters and now we're stuck with overpriced hasblabs and independent companies!
Some thoughts on the cost of these.... Mondo despite it's popularity, is still a relitively small niche company compared to someone like Hasbro. The Real Ghostbusters may be an expensive license to pay for Mondo. The standards of Mondo are known to be better quality. You have to take into account the cost to the sculptor, to design each individual Ghostbusters character. These are very detailed compared to other figures. Cost to the sculptor for all of the Ghost characters designed, including the smaller ones. Cost to a factory to produce them, and as it is a small run, could prove more expensive than mass produced at a discount. Prototypes could prove expensive, especially if further communication and action is needed to make changes. Cost to the factory workers who will be painting these products, who will have to be good painters, rather than painters who are generally used for mass produced pieces. They are not regular color injected pieces, and instead are hand painted. Cost to the artist/artists who designs the box art and packaging. Cost of the packing materials, including plastics. Cost of marketing the products, including visting Comic Cons, paying the photographers, and paying someone to promote the line. Shipping costs involved in delivering them to customers. Mondo will have to pay a percentage of their sales to the taxman. I guess somewhere in there Mondo still have to turn a profit.....
@RetroToyEscapades Your welcome buddy. It drives me nuts that so many people do not take into account the cost to make these for Mondo. Many just demand a price based on mass produced prices. There is some real creative drive gone into these.
We all know the price is honestly too high but other popular content creators won't mention it because they've befriended with Mondo and none of them want to say anything negative about this line. I'm sure they are all getting free figures from Mondo in exchange to cover the line in their channels. If Hasbro or Mattel were the ones releasing this line, everyone wouldn't be shy to talk about the $100 per figure.
@@edwardjohnson6744$100 for a mass produced ‘cartoon detailed’ figure with pretty much no articulation and basic paint (which will rub the moment you articulate it. Yeah…. Bargain.

Irish man here, your prononciation is spot on. Its Sow-in.

This is awesome.
Buy with slimer they need to make Janine as well.
Looks great!
I’ll chase the 200x series:)👍

Never thought I’d see a statement where $200 for a pair of 6-inch plastic figures constitutes a bargain….but its almost 2025!

Facts!
Great point.
Actually Trend Masters Exterme Ghostbusters produced a Sam Hain figure albeit different design~🎃👻🚫☃
What do you guys think of the $101 price tag?
@@RetroToyEscapades I think, I guess I can't get the Haslab Ecto 1-A now...
The price is fairly close to what it should be based upon the quality of the sculpt and paint job
Thanks for checking out the vid!
For the sake of ‘friendly competition’, Hasbro should release these on their “Plasma” series…
Waiting!
Tempting, but so pricey.

Comparing apples to oranges. Hasbro's quality is no where near as good as Mondo.

Samhain is overpriced!
@@RetroToyEscapades yes that's what makes it over priced, honestly $120 tops for the set!
The $101 pricetag is too rich for my blood, sadly.......

I'm assuming their 1/12 motu will be the same price range. Well I'm already out.
Wait for the bootlegs. hehehe.
🤔
It's only too much if the product quality is lacking.
$100 for a Marvel Legends quality figure. Does Mondo think we're idiots? Ya'll have fun with this one, I'm out.

Mondo has 1/6th scale Batman figures for $220. $100 isn't bad at all.
