I've listened to a _lot_ of Mega Man covers over the years, but I really like the expressive playing in this!
(Though I must admit, the tone of the snare drum is fighting with the guitar a bit. But the rides sound amazing! I did see it was done in a loop pedal rather than a DAW so that's even more impressive.)
Thank you! Me & a friend recorded these video game covers over 10 years ago, before we had a DAW or any recording equipment. He played all the guitars & an electronic drum kit, and we just looped and layered everything on a loop pedal (which explains the audio quality. )
We have recently talked about revisiting these tunes & doing them properly with a DAW
@@justincecil1984 honestly the quality itself is very good imo! Like when you compare against using a 4-track cassette “studio” or something.
Being an electronic drum kit makes sense, I thought it sounded like a drum sample but then wrote it off as just being a short loop on the loop pedal :) but no yeah, if it was a real drum I guess you might’ve tuned the head a little tighter or looser.
Revisiting these might be fun, I’m just glad you’re uploading them all now to give them some air!
(BTW I tend to prefer playing bass over guitar too!)
Considering Mega Man's original name was rock man, this is quite excellent
