I said this on the actual Pasadena video and I'll say it here: They could, and should, 100% do a whole Sabaton-style album of mundane history rendered epic. The founding of McDonald's...The "Emu War"...The formation of Nanowar itself...That time Joakim wrote an entire song using nothing but pre-existing metal song titles as lyrics (released on their first album)...
Long live meme metal! 🤣🤘 Seriously, this song sounds more like Sabaton than some recent Sabaton songs, and the fact that Joakim looks like he's barely keeping a straight face in all his scenes just kills me.
06:22 that "divine ponytail" is a reference to Roberto Baggio whom nickname was "Divin Codino" (litterally "divine ponytail") because the ponytail he had in the 90s 🥰
Fun good song 👍🏼 But no...... I'm happy that sabaton makes new tunes that doesn't sound like "they used to sound before" Stormtroopers, valley of death, christmas truce & hellfighters are some of their best ever 🤘🏼 I love the the old ones aswell The best thing is that they play a mix of new & old live. Saw them a few weeks ago 😎
Every football/soccer fan knows where they were that day. I was watching it in the Company rec room on Ft. Davis, Panama. It was a battle for the ages! Many cases of beer were drunk that day!
What a great song. Captured the essence of Sabaton amazingly and precisely. Those guys are seriously awesome 😃and on top of that having Chuck Liddell himself as a guest 😃incredible 😂
"Catenaccio dignified" always get me. "Catenaccio", literally old or big chain, is the name of a very defensive playstyle, that Italian team have always been "accused" of. It's an effective playstyle, focusing on defense and capitalize the few offensive occasion, but not flashy and not very entertaining, so a lot of people shunned it as a tactic.
I've just recently discovered this song and the epic music video. Had to come here for the reaction of my favourite (and only-watched) react channel. This is insanely funny on so many levels.
Goals as a Dad. Sharing stuff like this and getting into it with your son...well, for me and my wife: it is Nightwish. When eh was an infant with severe colic, we put on Nightwis's album Imaginarium (took my wife to their concert when she was 5 months pregnant with our son and she told me on the drive home that Jr. was rocking out the entire concert) so, while it is ironically funny that putting that album on the Yorx boombox and him settling down and crashed for the night in less than a minute, well, going on 12 years (including when he was a bun in the oven) Nightwish is still something he asks for. Even my wife, who I introduced to Nightwish, was shocked to how much Nightwish calmed our son down as an infant.
During the European Cup won by Italy in 2021 they had players like Chiesa (literally Church) and Barella (literally stretcher) that are perfect for jokes on war and faith. Also the spectacular defence of old school defenders like captain Chiellini and Bonucci fits very well with a song about tradition, old world values and virtues. Now I want that song!
I'm from Spain, and I think that the thing we most remember from that World Cup is Mauro Tassoti breaking Luis Enrique's nose on the Italy-Spain match...
I was vacationing with my family and we happened to be in Brazil on the night of the game. At the end of the game the entire town WENT. CRAZY. The celebration was a more memorable experience than the game itself!
As a Swede who remembers the world championship 1994 vividly and not only because we won bronze medal 4-0 against Bulgaria, I was laughing hysterically when first hearing this song and seeing the video. I mean, the final was BRUTAL for Baresi and Baggio - I still feel bad for them almost 30 years later XD It was also, to be honest, one of the most boring finals in a world championship EVER. And all the football stuff aside: this is an AMAZING song AND video! They out-Sabatoned Sabaton! Joakim should consider changing band XD
MAybe i'm crazy, but i still want to find if Maldini or any of the old team is on social media and send them this video 😆 Losers or not, it's still a great tribute!
Nanowar already kinda did a lot of rhapsody, blind guardian and manowar -like songs (fight the dragon, karkagnor's song, metal lalala for example) plus countless parodies of songs. Yeah but i'd love for them to do a whole album like that, especially outside power metal! (i'd love for them to dunk on black metal)
This could be on a Sabaton album and without context, I’d probably think it belonged there. Wouldn’t think twice If Sabaton doesn’t cover this, they are crazy
Bulgaria lost to Italy in the 1994 semifinals, we had two penalties which the refs didn't call. I love this song, but I am glad Brazil avenged us at the finals.
Soooo, you think *this* is the best Sabaton song not made by Sabaton? You should really read up on the band Sabadu... One of Chris Bowes' (alestorm, gloryhammer, etc) many sideprojects...
I don't know much about fotboll but geting a yellow card for shooting an opponent with a handgun. I think that is a red card offence, but I don't know all the rule of fotboll.
Though about the only cover-songs-album, what one has to admit is that they've covered different bands over the years. Rhapsody (of Fire) in like every second song (I also think Power of Imodium is from a sound perspective Rhapsody-alike (listen to Reign of terror by Rhapsody), or Barbie, MILF princess of the twilight featuring Fabio Lione himself) or Blind Guardian in The quest for carrefour. Therefore I think such cover-songs will be there from time to time on every "normal" album, but not as a stand-alone-cover-album. At least that's my opinion.
Yeah, I give in, that's something different. Though, as with Fabio Lione for example, that also happened, but very rarely. Funny enough, DragonForce is actually working on something like that with Alestorm, Sabaton, Amaranthe,... Or at least, they were...
A want a parody of Rata Blanca singing about the fifa world cup of 2014. Germany vs Argentina Or a Gojira song talking about France vs Argentina in 2022.
Speaking of Gojira and France, the French parody metal band **Ultra Vomit** made in their _Panzer Surprise !_ album a parody of both Gojira and Calogero (think somewhat like Formia) : _Calojira_ !
“The Greatest Sabaton song never made by Sabaton” perfect description. Also Sabaton must absolutely cover this live in Italy.
I love how Joakim is obviously fighting not to laugh several times. Props to him for playing along like a boss :)

And now I want a Sabaton song about Brazil vs Germany in 2014.
Don't Fuck!
We forget all about this fucking game!

@@Andy_from_de, just kidding man!

Maybe it should be done in ABBA style to the melody of Waterloo. 😂
If you want to do this one from the Brazilian perspective, just play "Smoking Snakes" backwards...

I just noticed on this video that the pink wig *does* have a ponytail ! (not many frames that it can be seen on...)

Yeah, it would get boring if they just made the same song over and over
This is an anthem! I was 7 years old by the time this happened but the World Cup of 1994 will forever be remembered in Sweden.
Every football/soccer fan knows where they were that day. I was watching it in the Company rec room on Ft. Davis, Panama. It was a battle for the ages! Many cases of beer were drunk that day!

Catenaccio and park the bus wins championships...
This song reminds me of how I miss the more classic Sabaton sound. The heaviness the speed and all that good stuff they did so well before.
Same with us
Ehm, The red baron?
@@simonhansson4722 Its a great song

I dunno, "Hellfighters" was pretty brutal.

These guys never disappoint
Sabaton does not have a bad song to date. You always learn something.
Now I suggested Nanowar of Steel, to make a song about Euro 2004...
They must do that! The year the miracle happened
I finally realized today that it's totally riffing on The Last Stand. Not only a similar sound, but a reference to Castel Sant'Angelo!

As per Mel Brooks, you really have to love something in order to parody it right. Nanowar of Steel really love metal, and they really love Italy.
"Italians lose wars as if they were football matches, and football matches as if they were wars."
Now we are waiting for this episode on Sabaton history channel 🤣😂
During the 94 world cup Ronaldo play for Cruzeiro, today Ronald is the owner of Cruzeiro
I thought he was at PSV already at that time
We all need Mr. Sabaton Tankman to be a commentator for Soccer games from now on. The guy's a great natural.
This is so much fun!
"It's about something that I absolutely love: Footie!"
