- Saw this at the Maple leaf parade in LaCrosse, Wi. Thought it was pretty awesome! I was curious, so I looked it up, It's called the Red Giant. it's owned by REO Mobile Media, LLC
www.reomobileme...
I recognized ICT as the sleeper manufacturer and gave Woody at Indiana Custom a call. It was built early this year, is 200" long and features 2 - 7'x11' sliders used to mount the large flat screen TV (s). A great example of an inventive trucker - he has it on a marketing contract. It looks like it could draw a crowd! Thank you for the post!!
Seen it at a few truck stops when I parked for the night. Always has a lot of orange cones around because they don’t want you too close.
@stayingman you are correct, it is in fact an ICT sleeper that measures in at 252" on a 430" wheelbase - The LED screens are 11'x6'. Some of you may have seen this truck on tour with Alex The Ice Road Trucker late last year. Come see us at the Mid America Trucking Show in Louisville March 31- April 2, 2011.
0:08 that horn sounds so awesome!!! 😎😎😎
I saw this semi for the first time in Sioux Falls, SD during the Convoy of Hope back in 2012. Impressive. Not a coincidence that it was the last semi in that convoy......
@CourtnRob Hey CourtnRob, thanks for posting this video of our truck - priceless exposure! The next time we are in LaCrosse we will have to meet up! BTW the trailer is 53' and the tractor is 45' - total length is 93' pinned up.
This gets my vote for absolutely the coolest truck on planet Earth
@bionictrucker1 the axle actually stays on the ground through turns due to the heavy weight of the tractor (43,000lbs). We rarely lift it and only do in certain situations with "humped" surfaces. Good thought though.
The Big Screen TV on that has a remote door that shuts and seals closed to cover and protect it. Has anyone had the Pleasure of seeing inside the Cab? WOW!!!!!! Also, 2 of the tanks that appear as gas tanks are actually water tanks for the bathroom/shower on board. Those tanks were designed as typical tanks, with the exception of the heavy duty protective plastic on the inside to keep the water safe from contamination with a filter system.
I saw this truck in person on Thanksgiving 2010 in Houston. Met Alex Debagorski from Ice Road Truckers, he was doing a book tour on the truck. It is an impressive site to behold.
you're pretty lucky. I'd love to meet someone from Ice Road Truckers
@@plumbingstuffinoregon2471 stupid staged show for retarded people.
what a RIG. old timers would be in aw..... thanks for posting.
@CourtnRob Rob is correct, there are 2 covers to protect the screens from flying debris
I remember that truck when is was brand new. Last Diamond Reo off the line. It was pulling a reefer trailer then. It was 100% custom built for DAX Trucking from Green Bay WI. It had a big sleeper on it, not quite the control room that's on there now but big enough.
Ayo im named after a trucking company 😂
I would call that a motorhome
toterhome*
@born2flyau We did in fact have this beast in Times Square in NYC back in late October - navigated those streets with no problem - Tighter yet was Hoboken, New Jersey - though it sure helped to have police escorts!
Sure we make big wide turns, but other motorists have politely moved out of the way; they really have no choice:)
I've actually seen this truck in person at the 36th Annual Iowa 80 Truck Show in Walcott, IA.
It's at a Classic Car Auction this weekend in Punta Gorda Florida. December 4th and 5th 2021.
@kdrapertrucker you are correct, there are 3 150's and another 100g on the driver side for water
I found this truck parked I n two rivers, Wi when I was trying to find the place I was delivering to.
I'm parked next to him down there Louisville Kentucky right now.
Dude's driving a New York apartment.
A motor home? Will be nice concept 😎
@Dre4774 The cab is customized like an RV inside with wood floors, bathroom, pull down bed, fridge, two burner stove, microwave, dining table, LED lighting, central vacuum and more. The wheelbase is 430 inches...
@mjcygnus Imitated but not duplicated - this truck was in Wisconsin on that day - The only trailer it pulls is the 53' trailer seen in the video above.
Very nice truck
i helped build that bad boy. its is a sweet truck
+Blaine Gose Does that center axle steer? It looks like it must in order to navigate turns?
Ergo Proxy it’s called a tag axle, and will turn as the truck turns
I thought this was a Pete 379 with retro-headlights myself until I got a closer look.
@MrJpsj, Wow, if this is the last Diamond Reo, that makes it a collectible the moment it left the factory.
Every now and then I will see that trucked parked down by the beach where I live on a nice night and he plays movies on that big tv for everyone.
@cj382 Im no expert but, I think it has two big covers that go over the TV's.
That is an amazing truck
@CourtnRob With a 53 foot trailer most are 70-80 feet depending on sleeper length.
@joetish89 the sleeper is 252 inches (21 feet) on a 430 inch wheel base
You will never run out of fuel with them fuel tanks... 😂😂😂
There are some pictures on Google that show this particular truck with its TVs covered. Just google "red giant truck" and you'll see for yourself :)
it's at the Wilco in Troutman NC today
Looks like an old Diamond Reo
It is
that's huge
@Randy N Is a sleeper cab that size legal for independent use too? I hardly know anything about truck driving I'm just curious. That is one big cab!
E85LONEFOX yeah
Beautiful
Very wide turning radius.
Wonder how the middle wheel work in turns...
it's decoration
Mac attack zach it’s not decorative! It’s a pusher axle, or some call it a tag axle!
Poorly but this truck was is more of a novelty only used every now and then for events like this.
Makes my Volvo 730 look tiny. Lol
@recola455 the axle is steerable and follows the front wheels
how does one take a turn in that...
My new beer hauler
@chevyz711998 3.8mpg with the wind at our back and downhill...;) The truck and trailer weigh 72,000lbs empty, throw in 6 drive shafts and yes, you got a diesel guzzler
It Can Either Haul Styrofoam or Sail-Boat Fuel
I wanna see it do a wheelie
I passed this truck last week on the West Virginia Turnpike, I didn't see no tv on the side. Is there a way they can cover it up?
What would the fuel economy on this thing be like?
hes probably lighter weight than most other trucks out there fully loaded. and frontal area for wind resistance is no different at all. with that in mind, a typical commercial truck is somewhere between 6 and 7 MPG
Dave Gonzales without getting super technical... yes, im serious. the cab may be long but the trailer is short. and the trailer is where the weight is carried in a truck. but the more important thing is the axle and tire combo he is running. he legally CANNOT be heavier or even as heavy as your "standard" truck. he has the same amount of tires on the ground but in a less effecient combination and shorter bridge.
+Black70Fastback That was well articulated. Thank you.
That is not a truck.................its a bus! XD
Why did that lady say awww?😐
Too big for my taste, looks like you can park a couple of cars in there
!!! "WWWOOOWWW" !!!
You should have a contest for charity and the winners get to ride with you in the MOST BEAUTIFUL IVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE ID PAY YOU 500 BUCKS JUST TO RIDE WITH FOR A WEEKEND AND ID BUY YOU DINNER!?
Максимальная высота фуры?
Im not sure. Normal North America height?
Nice.
4 fuel tanks? Or more?
How many people are required to drive this truck?
One
@@CourtnRob really? Unbelievable! Hello from Russia
its so big he was able to install at least 2 more fuel tanks, so think he must now how four of them, bet he could go at least 1000 miles or more before he has to stop for more fuel........
actually he would be able to do 2000-2500 miles before filling up, those look like 120 gallon tanks and if he has two on each side so he has 480 gallons when completely filled
rick russell that means he could just about drive from California and almost to New York without even having to fill up.....Just curious also if he would be able to watch TV like a football game on those Huge monitors on the side, that is a rig to be proud of......
Andrew Silva yeah he can watch TV he has a satellite dish on top of the rig, but it would just depend on how he has the big screens wired up. but if sure he could if he wired them up correctly, those screens are essentially a giant flat screen TV. you are right that is a rig to be proud of, that took him a lot of money and a lot of time to build. I only wish I could be driving a rig that nice
Apparently the two extras are water for showers and crap
You know never thought of that, know that motor homes have their own tanks for stuff like that but those are more hidden away within that framework of the motor home.....and probably easier to empty out when the time comes,
How long is this?
@90redgiant Whats the length of a regular truck pinned up?
Long boi
@Randy N, how big a engine hp does the truck have & what source of APU does it use to generate alt electricity?
