Sal refuses to let the world forget Bloodlines. And that's both hilarious and awesome.
He's Sacrificed TOO MUCH to let go now... all these years of searching.... it must mean SOMETHING!!!
Hey if we don’t learn from history, history will repeat itself. Look at the Dark Matter Universe.
Feels like an eternity since the last GBU episode. Today is indeed a good day!
@@Akkbar21 😎
Hey, I remember the Vertigo Angel and the Ape! Wait, I remember the original Angel and the Ape. Oh god I'm old...
Look out! Gunfire’s power allows him to use that hammer like a weapon!
Oh no, it’s Richard A. Shea or Rick A. Shea. Who? You know the supervillain, RICOCHET, LOL
I know Loose Canon from a Superboy issue in the 90s. They were really trying to push him. Then I never saw him again.
I'd watch the hell out of a forgotten vertigo episode
Meanwhile at DC HQ the "someone is talking about bloodlines" alarm is going off.
There’s a fun story from Hitman artist John McCrea about how he felt there was a rivalry between his book and the Gunfire book. Something about how both books were gun centric or similar at a glance. The whole time he gave it his best effort because he refused to have Hitman cancelled before Gunfire. This sentiment was led to the infamous “Oh no! I turned my own ass into a hand grenade!” gag from Hitman One Million.
I love these episodes with obscure characters, its so funny how bad these things are, and yet i find myself searching for these issues to read them myself
The further DC tries to bury Bloodlines, the louder Sal will scream to the heavens about its existence like a raving homeless man.
He'll find a way to recoup the years of collecting every issue of Bloodlines, dammit!
Loose Cannon vs Damage. Who y’all got? Winner fights Weapon H and loses. (We all lose; yes I know)
Y'all got the books I sent yay!!!!!!
OK, so this is proto-NEW AGE OF HEROES, I get it, and DAMAGE is another shot at Loose Canon. Is good to remember how many times Dc has tried the same ideas, hoping they fare different.
Saludos desde Panamá.
I support a "forgotten Vertigo" episode of GB&U!
I second this!
So glad to have GBU back! Love this show. Also EVERY SINGLE THING I know about Bloodlines was taught to me against my will because of Comicpop!
I had this playing on the back while I worked and thought "Enema" was a very representative name for the quality of the Bloodlines characters.
They had one of these crossovers every year trying to push new characters, and none of them ever stuck-except Hitman, which makes Bloodlines the best line-wide crossover ever!
Unpopular opinion, but they should do that again today. Maybe not as a yearly crossover, but DC and Marvel should both a anthology book where every month they pair a different writer and artist to create a new character
If the character gets some buzz, it can get a second issue, or a miniseries or a backup feature. If it falls flat, who care, just move on. Otherwise, both DC and Marvel run the risk of stagnating. It would also be a great way to try new writers/artists on something with no real stakes. Sure, 90% on the characters won't stick, but 9% will, and 1% will be pure gold.
The full fantastic four is back
Oi Tiffany is taking no BS this episode. You can feel the disdain melt off her and the wanting to not go into any tangents. Still an amazing episode I'm glad to see it come back!
Not really! That day Ben was the one who was hungry and didn't want to stray from the books.
@7:28 You guys are putting WAAAAAAAAAY more thought into this, than the actual creators/writers.
I would very much watch a forgotten vertigo episode.
Honestly, I'd love to see Gunfire brought back. The idea of a maniac running around shooting people with everyday items really tickles me, and a good writer could do some really creative fights centered around that power
Unfortunately Gunfire got fucking killed off-panel in Heroes in Crisis. RIP Gunfire.
@@scubasteve4355 Good news, that's been retconned so no one died in Heroes in Crisis. Because even DC eventually realized that was a really horrible idea.
Always excited to see the entire crew together whether it be on Back Issues or here on Good,Bad and the Ugly
Len Wein created Swamp Thing! , Wolverine ! , & Gunfire ? 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
Its been a minute since GBU glad to see it back
New Bloods is the most 90's sounding thing and I love it
ARGUS, also had a miniseries and HITMAN a long running series...plus LOOSE CANNON was featured last year in the Superman backup stories!!!
Gunfire huh, I wonder if Monty Oum was inspired by this book when he created RWBY, “EVERYTHING IS A GUN” (LOL)
A special treat is GBU
Fantastic and fun. I do love it when there's more debate at the end but this did seem pretty cut and dry.
I eagerly anticipate the next episode of GBU!
GBU! and of blood lines? Loving it!
New GBU is exactly what I didn't know I needed today!
25:28
I just want to publicly apologize to Sonic, Chain, and Grasp of The Seekers. Clearly we found the worst Supervillain trio with Bounty Incorporated.
I missed this show , hell yeah.
100th video on this channel!Congratulations!
Always interesting to see an episode where every book is a contender for ugly. Glad GBU is back. hoping to see more of it in the future!
Bloodlines sucks to such depths that not even Future State can reach - except Shazam and Titans Academy tries, really tries to suck that bad.
Loose Canon huh, more like “GLASS CANON” LMAO
ah yes the scourge of the dollar bin alongside valiant, knights of the dinner table, and 90's mini series
Views be damned I would eat up a Forgotten Vertigo GBU!! 👍🏾🙏🏾
I want Gunfire to come back someday
I thought it was New Books for a sec and I was like, hey they already did these 20 years ago..
Bloodlines my fave , the gift that keeps giving
hearing the episode i kept asking myself; " wtf is with all the enemas?"
Great choice!
I picked up Anima because Hand & Witcover wrote a Joker story I liked called “Jangletown.” I kept expecting Anima to get better, but it never reached its potential.
Even in 2022, we can't escape Bloodlines
Spinal Tap, Jack, what's next? Waxwork II: Lost in Time??
Fuck yes!!!
Gunfire, you are some sort of loose cannon. I mean the line is asking to be stated.
ITS RETURNED! YES!!!!
Happy to see this series return ❤️
Gonna hit this one up later tonight after work.. I'm already laughing from the title alone. This should be good!
Chuck dixon told me he hated working on the bloodlines Crossover. Because of all the new characters having the same exact back story
Oh wow GBU sweet!
I missed GBU
Can’t wait 😛
Ahh.. its been awhile.
Boojum is a Lewis Carroll reference. It's from The Hunting of the Snark.
Agree with Sal, Loose Cannon was the best of the bunch. Btw, don't tell Ethan that there is a wrestler in WWE named Ricochet! lol
2:08 VertigoYOU ?
I feel like we need a wrong box retrospective. There’s just so much trash, and that always makes for the best episodes
No mention of Major Bummer? The Ultimate 90s Slacker? I am disappoint.
Edit: Or SNNNOOOOWWWWFFFLLLLAAASMMMEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Love GBU!
Man the New blood was the inhumanity of the DC Universe and they did it twice with Dark Nights Metal 🤘
I actually liked loose cannon visually he was interesting being a mood ring of power.
Man I like gunfire
Oh hey I have a few issues of Anima. Kinda thought it would be cool, definitely didn't realize it was tied to Bloodlines 😂
i was wonder where the angel and the ape came from after the rogues black label firts issue from williamson
GBU!!!!!
Loose Cannon A.K.A. Mood Ring Hulk.
I think I agree with Ethan
Oh she has a stand!
Really interesting to learn more about this dark chapter in DCs history as it reacts to virtigo and trying to look more modern, also I was raped as a kid, and see how unsuccessful it was compared to say sideways or the Terrifics, and how everyone else acts like it does exist
ohhhh its Anima, I thought her name is Enima. My initial impression was why would DC put that on a comic tile
I will watch it if you cover Angel and the Ape
Don't forget Hitman!
Each time they say Anima it sounds like Enema
Let's goooo!!!!!
YES GBU!!
What about... THE RAY? hahaha
I dont know why i keep hearing Enema instead of Anima
YESSSSSSS
These titles have a marvel UK vibe ..
Aah I love GBU!
What is the idea of transcript when cc is available
To find specific moments in the video.
No Hitman?
No Psybarats?
No?
So, here's the issue with "predictable anti-specific-hero-villains"...it's basically A DC staple. You called it yourself. Reverse Flash. Bizarro Superman. And so on. Expecting creative and new from a company who've written themselves into a corner with the very existence of Superman means you'll be disappointed. It means nothing can happen anywhere anymore.
I’m sorry, but every time one of you guys say “Anima”, all I hear is “enema”
loves me some GBU
There is no good here. Lol
Hitman was the best thing that came out of Bloodlines
I'm distracted by the stain on Tiffany's jeans.
Ah good...you know I already felt like I shouldn't wear them, but I thought eh...it'll be fine. At least I know the acrylic paint I got on my jeans years ago is super distracting.
@@TheRealZubes Thanks for solving the mystery of what the stain was,I guessed chocolate.
OK,Not distracting, Should of said spotted the stain. No hate here, Love you all and your work.
@@TheRealZubes you had the stain on your jeans but your hair looked great so everything evens out
Wasn't ZERO HOUR the breeding ground of a lot of lame new books and characters for DC?
It sure was. So was Invasion, Dark Nights Metal, Millennium, and more.
