Trent Brown is okay but he's trending down and as nice as Andrews is, he's always injured every year. Even in Mac's rookie season where he pretty much showed his limitations, what helped was the O-line playing great as a group.
The easy answer to why the pats offense is bad is because their entire offensive identity was molded over 20 years towards having the single greatest QB to walk the earth. If the current team was able to run the Brady system they'd be a top 10 offense, the physical talent is there. But they don't have the experience, trust and confidence to do so. They put up respectable performances with guys like Cassel and Jimmy G while Brady was out. They were clearly a downgrade from Brady, but the team still functioned and won a good % of the time. Even going back to when Bledsoe had to step in. What we're seeing now is a complete disaster unlike any time they lacked Brady previously. In retrospect, this decline started while they still had Brady. There were games they lost where teams just manned up on the Pats and Brady's wrs couldn't beat 1 on 1 coverage already. I bet him seeing the writing on the wall is part of why he left. Now the skill pos talent is worse still, and the qb is far worse. It seems Belichick is still fielding a competent defense, but he needs a coach who can pick and develop offensive guys or they're going to stay a bad team.
Certainly not in 2019. Brady knew his talents were being wasted when the best BB can surround him besides old Edelman and old James White were Jakobi Meyer, Philip Dorsett and Mohamed Sanu (off a trade). Sure BB flopped picking N'Keal Harry but the WR first round class of 2019 wasn't any better with the Ravens picking Marquise Brown. And his ass would be shipped off years later. Its the teams who picked in round 2 where all the WR talents were that got rewarded.
@@TheMelnTeam I'm convinced BB has not dealt well with the 'brain drain' not only from his staff but also the scouting/front office. In fact many of the Pats FO guys would also move on to other openings in other teams like the Texans (Nick Caserio), Cardinals (Monti Ossenfort) and former Raiders GM David Ziegler (who was the guy who brought in Josh McDaniels and a bunch of Pats guys on the coaching staff). So BB who can't find other guys to do those roles from the outside has taken more responsibility for those roles. But sadly he's also only willing to work with people he's known who may be a bad fit than someone an outsider who could be a great mind.
If fields keeps doing good I feel like they will take Harrison jr with the #1 draft pick and we will have no choice and take either Caleb or Drake maye
I don't think the argument holds: at 1:10 or so, Mac just flat out misses the throw. It's a good design, decently run route, and he just puts it too far, either by making it too much of a line drive, or just aiming too far. I'm not one to say Zappe is anything but well below average. Also at 4:30, it looks pretty clear that the QB is not reading it 1 2 as he goes right to # 2. At 5:50, tyquan totally stacks the DB, which is great, but not on that route. Hard to know if the coaches coach that (unlikely) or it's just a poor execution by the relative noobie.
Its hard to see who individually is failing in this Pats offense. But it is VERY clear that every part is failing either way. The O-line isn't up to snuff so that hurts the potency of the run game. The receivers can't separate so granted that puts more pressure on the QB. But the QB has also lost confidence in himself and faith in the staff to help him out. Its not like he's mobile either so he can't keep opposing defenses honest if they choose to play man coverage (the MOST looks on MacCorkle among league leaders).
Saying everything is broken, and then showing a play where if the QB just throws the ball 1 yard different 25 yards downfield is a QB issue not ‘everything’ as argued. I don’t think every play is the qb’s fault by any stretch, but more accurate throws and the pats pick pick isn’t quite as amazing. I note the pats defense has been top of the class; they didn’t need much to flip Ls to Ws. I am all for them losing more from here…I just want to see pick 2 traded for a 2025 1st and 31 7th round picks (I want to see the entire league go in on the idea of helping Bill make the first 32 team trade.)
Never should have drafted Mac. Had opportunity to draft talent and build roster before finding their QB and they did the big mistake of taking a “Brady like” qb without giving him any tools or good scheme
@@williamhermann6635 Sure he had some great highs all the bonehead plays he has showed off this year and last (with Patricia) were present in his rookie year as well. Its hard for someone like MacCorkle to succeed trying to play perfect ball every week just to win with a stacked offense. Because he's not mobile and if he gets scared into a back legged throw, he's throwing that ball to no mans land either way.
As a Raiders fan, I noticed how McDaniels and Zieglers departure have impacted the patriots. If Bill can bring them back and get a QB he’ll be back in playoff contention
atleast the defense will be good next yr especially w gonzo n judon back. rb core is good too, just some linemen and a wr1 so bourne can slide down to 2
Wanna bet? I would wager the Pats offense rebounds with Mac Jones stuck on the bench. LOL. BOB is a excellent offensive coach - their line gives them reasonable time - and they have some speed in Thorton and some sure hands in Henry and the other receivers.
Firing Bellichick is not the answer, but he does need a stern talking to about his utter refusal to draft good recievers, or any offensive weapons at all for that matter
You know for all he's done everybody sure gives in awful easy Where's your loyalty? I bet you if you keep Bill around next year or the year after that Patriots team will be one of the best in the league.
Its more like Mac has already showed his limitations in his rookie year. The same back foot throws without any touch was there in 2021. When he's frustrated he's made boneheaded plays. The only difference then was the O-line was also better so the Pats can run the ball. Plus the wide receiver talent is at its absolute worst. No speed, no separation and no ways to get defenses out of playing man vs Mac in passing downs.
It seems Tom was the entire offensive mind of the Pats dynasty, essentially the offensive coordinator the whole time. Which is part of why the pats/Belicheck coaching tree wasn’t all that good.
Hes always had bad offenses. Brady routinely sucked until the 4th quarter when teams miraculously just collapsed against him (not literally every game but a ton of times in his career). The defense always is what kept the dynasty patriots in games
I'm torn because he's done so much for us but I think he has to go. He's still a defensive genius but it's not worth putting up with the baggage he brings for the offense.
@@williamhermann6635 Yes correct but unless he's willing to give up GM duties I think this may be his last year. I'd be open to giving him one more chance considering all he's done for us but his leash will be incredibly short.
Relic? He's a defensive coach, hell he admitted he never had any part in the offense, he just let Brady and McDaniels handle it. Considering the defense has been elite even with half of it on IR i'd say he's still an elite coach. Hard to call him an outdated relic when he's the one regularly popularising defensive schemes, the man killed the Rams
@@TheTeremaster I think people are wording things wrong about BBs place in the Pats org. Anyone who knows ball acknowledges BB as a coaching mind on defense and overall game management/adjustments. With the brain drain from his staff and the front office however, BB has had a harder time playing his GM role. Which is the whole scouting, roster building and replacing staff roles. And he's doing it with people he 'trusts' as opposed to taking a chance on talented minds who can fulfill the job. At this point however I think its hard to separate BB from both roles so something has to give.

@@kghostthegreat Bill O'Brian is a total hack and has a massive ego. I wouldn't be surprised if part of the problem is him refusing to adapt to how the NFL plays defense nowadays.
Any offensive play calling wiz needs some good talent and especially a great talent at QB to even begin to play beyond their potential. Look at the Texans offense for one. OC Bobby Slowik is from the Niners offense staff (like McDaniel) and there is no way he gets results especially earlier in the season with no O-line due to injuries if he didn't have CJ Stroud as QB.
@@t4d0W oh yes. what I'm saying though is that a good OC can take this personnel grouping and do _something_ resembling offence with it. you can scheme guys open, run the ball and pass off of PA, use motion to make the QB's job easier, etc etc. I'm not saying a new OC would be night and day, just that Bill isn't doing that as well as he should.
LOL... How people are relishing the hate. Belichick could retire today as #3 goat in head coaches... Maybe you should look at how the whole NFL seems to be lowering the bar. And if anything is going away it's the era of discipline, just like happened to the NBA 30 years ago...

Bill is not going anywhere. If Zappe does good/decent the rest of the way, Pats pick Harrison in the first round.
If fields keeps doing good I feel like they will take Harrison jr with the #1 draft pick and we will have no choice and take either Caleb or Drake maye
Any Eagles or Washington breakdowns you’d recommend?
I guess he really does need a Tom Brady.
The argument is that one, or multiple aspects of this offense is failing on every play. I think it holds.
Don't compare him to brady. Please. They're nothing alike.
He looked good as a rookie but then Patricia came in and ruined him forever.
Honestly a hell of a block attempt by Stevenson on Nunez-Roches
As a Raiders fan, I noticed how McDaniels and Zieglers departure have impacted the patriots. If Bill can bring them back and get a QB he’ll be back in playoff contention
Can you do a video on why the eagles have done so bad the last two games please
atleast the defense will be good next yr especially w gonzo n judon back. rb core is good too, just some linemen and a wr1 so bourne can slide down to 2
Wanna bet? I would wager the Pats offense rebounds with Mac Jones stuck on the bench. LOL. BOB is a excellent offensive coach - their line gives them reasonable time - and they have some speed in Thorton and some sure hands in Henry and the other receivers.
Do patriots fans want vrabel as HC?
There's a lot wrong with the coaching, and being closed off to "outsiders" is a huge part of it. No new ideas. No new talent.
I would be willing to bet BoB is fired in the offseason and josh comes back. the real question for the pats is what the bears do in the draft.
Please fire Troy brown as wr coach. He's awful.
Coaches cant magically coach talent into a player. This offense is severely lacking talent.
So are the rest of the receiving talents of the Pats. You cannot tell me any of them can get separation in isolation.
Lol and today they said they're parting ways. Nice timing.
What’s Mac’s biggest regression from his rookie year?
Its more like Mac has already showed his limitations in his rookie year. The same back foot throws without any touch was there in 2021. When he's frustrated he's made boneheaded plays. The only difference then was the O-line was also better so the Pats can run the ball. Plus the wide receiver talent is at its absolute worst. No speed, no separation and no ways to get defenses out of playing man vs Mac in passing downs.
Actually we're 3 and 10 😂
1:44 “Mano a mano” not “mano y mano” unless you do mean “hand in hand”
they literally reported lastnight that this is Bill last year. talk about timing
DeVante Parker has been one of the worst WRs in creating separation for years. Bill gave him an extension.
it's not so easy without that Tim Brady guy
It seems Tom was the entire offensive mind of the Pats dynasty, essentially the offensive coordinator the whole time. Which is part of why the pats/Belicheck coaching tree wasn’t all that good.
Delusion it's a talent issue
so basically, they cant hit a post and bc of that crossers never work
Will be funny if Malik Cunningham becomes a great QB and Belichick never tried to use him
Hes always had bad offenses. Brady routinely sucked until the 4th quarter when teams miraculously just collapsed against him (not literally every game but a ton of times in his career). The defense always is what kept the dynasty patriots in games
Bill is the GM in NE. They will never get rid of him 😂
when the highest paid players on your offense are hunter henry and juju, youre gonna have a bad time
"Bill Belichick ended the Patriots offense." I fixed your title.
? drafting another QB doesn't make the wr fasters it just ruins another young QB
I mean, Tom Landry fell apart, too.
I'm torn because he's done so much for us but I think he has to go. He's still a defensive genius but it's not worth putting up with the baggage he brings for the offense.
The offense just needs more talent. Theres no magic scheme for an offense full of mediocre or worse players.
@@williamhermann6635yea well he also does draft sign and trade for the talent on offense the offense is bad cause of him.
@@doc8187 Thats a personnel thing tho. He may be terrible with personnel decisions, but hes still the greatest coach of all time.
@@williamhermann6635 Yes correct but unless he's willing to give up GM duties I think this may be his last year. I'd be open to giving him one more chance considering all he's done for us but his leash will be incredibly short.
@@JordTheeNord My guess is he'll probly retire.
yet zappe with actual reps in practice and we win a game
dude probably stopped cheating which stopped him winning
Wow. You _almost_ made me feel sorry for Belichick. 😂
Don't, he is the GM as well.
He’s could be waiting for Caleb in the draft if they are gonna get the #1 seed
It would be awfully tough for the Pats to get the 1st overall pick at this point.
They fucking fired my coach! 😡😠
He should get Brady
We are 3-10 at the time of this posting
It's not that Brady made belichick. It's that Belichick is a relic of a time long past in the NFL and it couldn't be more obvious.
Football's Rome has Collapsed.
Dump bill o'brian and see how things go from there. preferably hire an offensive coordinator from either Shanihan or McVay. Belicheck has kept his side of the ball in order.
I doubt it’s a Bill O’Brian issue. Jones has regressed heavily, and the WRs (a bunch of high-tier “role player” type WRs) aren’t playing well
@@kghostthegreat Bill O'Brian is a total hack and has a massive ego.
Belichick to chargers 2024? 🤔
MHJ at 3.
LOL... How people are relishing the hate. Belichick could retire today as #3 goat in head coaches... Maybe you should look at how the whole NFL seems to be lowering the bar. And if anything is going away it's the era of discipline, just like happened to the NBA 30 years ago...
This is a wicked cope.
@@Benjiizus LOL Sorry to ruin your hate trip... Go back to seething... LOL
Wow, what a prophet.

Belichick checked out 2 seasons ago. Pretty apparent. He's done. Doesn't matter how good the d or o line are or not.
How the mighty have fallen…
Happens to everyone. Very few coaches retire on a high note. To put it in perspective, even Vince Lombardi was fired by the Packers.

They didn't fire him. He went to the redskins because he felt he had accomplished all he could with the packers. He died after one season there. @@williamhermann6635
