While I am 100% on board with this update, my biggest gripe is that chain links don't give vibrational feedback. That vibration is what connects the player to the music and notes. Without that feedback, chain notes simply feel like regular notes that are more annoying to hit properly.

    • @AuroraStarstorm
      @AuroraStarstorm 2 года назад +7

It's also good for just very fast maps, players due to their reaction will need to basically move from point to point, which if your move from overhead to both arms outstretched can be very awkward. Arcs telegraph the player to brings there arms down in preperation for the horizontal swing.

Since the arc notes don't increase your score at all, I think there should be an option to turn their visuals off. If they added score that'd be one thing, but since they are just visual they feel like more of a distraction when going for score. I really wish there was a non-combo-breaking bonus for staying on the arc, even if it was just a little.

Can I just take a second to applaud Beat Games ingenuity with the arc notes.
They could’ve so easily made the arcs restrictive, allowing a new type of note that can potentially make things much harder, but instead opted to improve the general experience. To me that is absolutely perfect, and paired with the new lighting the maps have a ridiculous amount of atmosphere and beauty in them now which I couldn’t agree with more.
Congratulations, you’ve done amazingly on this one!

You guys made a new sabers teaser right? I thought they would be out by now. Can you give me some info on when they will be out in Beat Saber? Thanks.

While I'm not as bug a fan of the chain notes, the arcs add SO much more when it comes to being part of the music. It just feels so much more natural!

I like how they add a really good challenge to the songs cause when I did one of the vol 5 songs I was confused thanks for telling me there purpose can't wait to see some challenging and creative things with these notes

The team at beatsaber should add these to older songs or have like 1 handed versions and I mean like add a new play option like there’s 1 handed, 360, 90, and no arrows

Ok, so now i know abouy Pre swing, post swong, and accuracy when hitting notes. This definitely helps.

I wish there could be an option to turn them on for any song or turn them off, imagine playing the DLC songs or older songs with these blocks, that would be insane!

No!!! Not until they let us turn them off so we have a choice.

I really love the decision to make arc notes pretty much aesthetic
was worried of mappers starting to become too constraining to where the player's movement and creativity is stifled.
Knowing that its more of a guide really helps

i'm expecting custom maps with fake out arcs that have nothing to do with where the notes actually are

    • @EclipseHighroller

Not me. Having to Follow a hold, like in synth riders or even ddr, makes the game feel so much better.
Beat sabers has needed hold notes for the longest time, and they implied they were adding them with the arcs when it was announced, but it’s nothing of the sort. Hold notes are paths to be followed or else you lose points/combo. The arc system here is just a path that follows you which makes it pointless

Floor blocks and arcs would be pretty cool, stabbing the floor and getting the since of gliding with it just seems neat, cuttable walls also seem like they would be fun and could be a more challenging arc.
