thanks for listening to my comment,i am now 72 and all of this was my playground from about 1957, i was christened in 48' at All Saints, played at lion wharfe with my mates and climbed trees in the convent grounds, my great grandfather and grandfather were sweeps and lived just along from what was barclays bank in south st,then in magdala rd, till granddad moved to talbot rd where my dad was brought up,many happy memories of tiddler fishing in the minnie ha ha,making camps on the island in the "minnie" and fishing around the lock when i was a teenager,later taking my first pint in the apprentice ,my dad had an allotment round by the entrance to syon park ,and he used to bike down there with me on the crossbar to get me out of mums way i suspect, a few years ago when my mum passed away she left a letter saying that when my dad went as well that she wanted their ashes scattered around the trees just inside the gates of syon park where they did their courting,isleworth has so many memories for me ,will have to make a last visit soon to see old places before its too late.

My old stamping ground miss the gaff like mad The swan Apprentice Kings arms castle town wharf chequers great days all changed now i see I was brought up near the Alisa tavern used to walk along Richmond Road nigh on every day to get to the pubs and the tote betting shop in South street went to the blue school happy days
