One of the strongest methods I've found to touch the unity is contemplation/experimentation with paradox. Paradox and the dissonance it causes is a sign our minds are conceiving something which is incomplete, perhaps too zoomed in and divided into false dichotomies/categories. Holistic understanding, especially later in our years, requires us to dissolve the boundaries our minds have built around things, shake off the foundations we've erringly created that ground us in a static interpretation of our lives. We learn more by unlearning the things we think we already know. In the mystical sense, when you read the book of genesis backward, we are invited into the garden of eden by giving up the fruit of knowledge between good and evil. We "dissolve" the false binary of good and evil, and find the unity/garden has been with us the whole time. While dwelling in unity for eternity sounds incredible, we are as humans still here on the physical plane. This does by necessity involve divisions from the source/non-duality, a kind of sandbox that allows non-duality to experience itself in the unfolding of cosmos. The purpose of the life force that seems to manifest from the seemingly lifeless material framework is to reach back toward that unity, as we are the Universe experiencing itself, both separate and complete - seemingly a paradox on the surface, but diving into deeper paradoxes can reveal something that isn't expressible...the closest I've found as a stepping stone toward that form of thought is: Zero and infinity are the same entity, and it is terrifyingly beautiful when you touch it. Once we clutch onto a particular side of the bottomless truth, we've neglected the mirrored form that binds...and fall out of the source for a time, chasing our own constructs into divisions again. It's natural and expected while we're here as physical beings...but when the source is touched, it's a promise of what's to come again - perennially.

Rationality believes in 2 (duality) and can understand 1 (unity), but hasn't the slightest clue about 0 (nonbeing). It's why the East had to invent zero.
Paradox is the sword that ruptures logic to reveal more paradox.

Now I'm going to have to find Huxley's book. The Perennial Philosophy.

There are many places to read it online since it is now in the public domain. Here is one: archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.200276/page/n25/mode/2up
Nothing beats reading a physical paper copy though!
