Yes, TXT is young and is still exploring their sound but at the same time--similar to Red Velvet--variety, fusion, and experimentation are already signature TXT sounds (electronic funk and R&B are usually fused with other genres such as pop, rock, hip hop, and EDM to name a few). Rather than focusing on flashy vocals and rap, their music is characterized by high production value and complex harmonies, counterpoint, layering, and instrumentals (hence the incredible quality of their bsides). I would contend that TXT have a unified and unique sound despite the variety and diversity of their discography. Yes, their sound is still evolving and developing and we have yet to really see a lot of flashy vocal content (flashy doesn't necessarily equivocate difficult and vice versa) but the technical aspects of mastering the vocal styles and techniques is pretty impressive. Again, I believe their killing point lies in the incredible production value of their music. They actually do quite a bit of spoken lyricism (kind of in between rapping lines and singing melodies which is made difficult by the need to have good control of flow and melodic phrasing--BTS does this occasionally as well but not nearly as much since their rappers generally stick to rapping and their singers to singing whereas all the TXT members can rap and sing) which is pretty cool and is pretty signature to them. I think a lot of people underestimate and overlook TXT because their music isn't super "hard" sounding (in both senses of technical difficulty and style). TXT's music is more likely to be in the major mode or a similar mode which comes off as less intense and dark (aka happy music). Mode is dictated by where the Tonic (base note) lies in the scale pattern so doing one mode isn't necessarily more difficult than another even if it sounds cooler. From a musical sense purely, TXT has my favorite kpop discography despite them not necessarily being my favorite group. I really think that their discography as a whole is the best cohesive collection of well produced music in kpop currently (this is merely a matter of my personal opinion so if you disagree that is completely valid).

I’m really glad you said this. Just because they’re trying different things doesn’t only mean they are still trying to find their sound. They are versatile and they are not doing just one thing. That happens quite a bit in K-Pop in general from what I’ve seen.

However, recent kpop trends are less likely to be fusion based and if they are, it tends to be based on already successful sounds. TXT and RV are two groups that are still very experimental and versatile in most of their music. This is not to say that recent kpop releases are never experimental, but that it's not as common anymore. Some artists will get so focused on having a signature style and sound that all of their title tracks start sounding the same even if they are very different in some ways.

Yes, they said so at the press conference before the release. But it's not just about hats and jackets - if you see the full dance break version of the song (from the press conference or the comeback show) you see that they also did a quick change with the help of backup dancers and THAT'S where the full Filter effect comes in!

The one that you said looked like V is Beomgyu who has said that he studies V's facial expressions to work on his stage presence. So there are a lot of faces he pulls that are reminiscent of Tae. Actually TXT’s concept and the sound of their music is recognizable to me, my first thought was this is such a TXT kind of song, it’s magical, fun, kinda reminded me of run away somehow. They also have a dark side like can’t you see me, one of my favourite song by TXT. Idk maybe im wrong but that’s my vision of them :)

This is, hands down, my favorite TXT song! So glad you got to listen to it. I also recommend "Crown," if you haven't checked it out yet. Also, FWIW, the blue hour is what we in the US call the golden hour (i.e., the period of daytime shortly after sunrise or before sunset, during which daylight is redder and softer than when the sun is higher in the sky). It's a photography term, and in a lot of cultures throughout the world is also considered a magical time. :D

I think rather they’re showing us their super versatility and how seamlessly they can navigate from one concept to the next. No need to be pigeonholed in one particular concept. I really love TXT for the extra creative leeway they can provide for the BigHit songwriters and producers - they can perform songs that maybe might not be “suited” for BTS, (though as a hardcore ARMY myself, we know they can do everything!) and basically showing us all how BigHit is a creative powerhouse!
