The videos in their entirety aren't necessarily sexualization, by definition. Pointing out moments when Jimin is clearly knowingly, willfully, acting sexy isn't sexualization. What I do see as sexualization is removing his face from frame to focus fully on his...for the purpose of public comments, let's just say... pelvic region. What I see as *problematic* sexualization (which I don't think these videos are guilty of) is creating a sexual feeling from a moment that wasn't originally sexual in nature by removing context through editing. Whether that be cropping photos and videos, slowing the clips down to give the illusion that acting sexy was their intention, zooming in to only focus on what they want you to see, as well as trimming the video again to force your focus. Everyone has the right to be sexy as well as sexual when they want to be, they shouldn't be shamed for it, and appreciating it isn't inherently problematic... although some do take "appreciation" WAY too far. The problem is that people also have the right to not be sexual whenever they want, and the fact that they do act sexy at other times doesn't negate that right. Basically... (might be an iffy analogy, as far as how it correlates, but I'm tired) Imagine a person who occasionally posts thirst traps then goes on to post a video of themselves playing on the beach with their kids and some thirsty mf edits it... Cropping out the kids, slowing it down, adding sexy music. Essentially removing all context. They've taken something meant to be innocent and fun, and manipulated it into something that the person in the video didn't intend, but also didn't consent to. Those are the times when the edits go too far, for me at least.
I expressed a similar opinion to this in my own, but you've been way more concise about it. Kudos, even if that analogy isn't to my taste.
The issue for me is we can't truly know what character Jimin wants to portray and his personal boundaries since we don't know him. By common sense we can deduce that crotch grabbing in Bapsae was intended to seduce. But was he intending those VLive clip moments of licking a lollipop or drinking water as seductive ? If not and he was unaware, is it unacceptable when people crop out to just his lips doing otherwise ordinary things? Is it wrong to find his lips attractive enough that even if he didn't intend it, it's sexy to you?
It's such a complicated issue and reminds me that fans and celebrities can't be as intimate as they'd hope to be for many reasons.
Agreed. I also, personally, get a serious case of the "icks" when people sexualize videos of the members from before they were adults.
@@GudetamaSit There's a way to do it, that I actually think these videos stay within the boundaries of for the most part... minus crotch zoom edits, which for a me are borderline. However, I've seen clips... thanks to stan twt... that take the same moments, and through their editing make them feel *overly* sexualized. I agree though. Because we don't know them personally, it's hard to know for sure what their intentions or boundaries are... I just think that some people forget that the members are real people, and that there *are* boundaries *at all*.

All of this is Jimin. The face, the body, the expressions, the way he moves - it’s all him. Some clever person just slowed down what he was doing, and he was doing it as an adult, in public - on stage, on sets, and he is fully clothed. He is also not doing anything vulgar or in poor taste. He is incredibly beautiful. And he is naturally a very sexy MAN. It is impossible to watch Jimin perform and not find him attractive. Do we sexualize him? I guess we do, to an extent…But he is a sexual being, you can’t see him as an asexual person, or a eunuch - that is just not the Jimin that he shares with us. In a way, he sexualizes himself - it is not a negative thing - and he always behaves in an appropriate and classy way, so no one can take offense, but unquestionably, he knows he is sexy, he knows we find him sexy - and it does not make him unhappy! He enjoys expressing himself onstage (sometimes he is goofy, and often he is sexy af), we enjoy watching him, he loves our response to him, and we love to see him happy and enjoying himself. I have seen some crazy pics where strange people have photoshopped Jimin, and that obviously goes way too far, he didn’t consent to any of that and it’s NOT him…
Honestly I don’t mind the clips of him on stage performing haha cause.. well it’s Park Jimin. He knows how to perform, he was born to perform... it is a little weird when they throw in clips like him sucking on a lollipop and make it overly sexual but I also think Jimin knows what he’s doing to his audience 😅 he has a whole persona for performing, but it’s just one side of him. He has a beautiful heart and giving soul and we love all sides of him 💜

I dont see big problems with these videos because it is compilations of their sexy moves and performances. Like, Jimin knows what he was doing and he knows that the fans enjoy. In my opinion it was a problem when Jimin was just a teenager and Bighit used his body to caught fame. But now he is a grow man and he can use his body in the way he wants. Can I just say that I truly think Jimin captures SO many people because on one hand he has a very feminine delicate look to where he looks like an angel and on the other hand he is extremely sensual and sexy but is NEVER overboard with it. There are very few people who can just genuinely have that sexy aura and not even specifically do anything that’s in a sexual way. I think he owes it to his ballet dancing training plus the fact that he is a passionate person when he dances. He admitted it himself that when he dances, he is absorbed into the world of the song or melody that he is dancing to. All in all, he is a very gòod and passionate dancer. There’s a natural sensuality to Jimin that honestly just leaves us out of breath. He exudes charm like no others. If anything, that speaks for his talent as a true artist who has the ability to captivate his audience, no matter gender, age or sexuality.
I agree that some moments are not necessary in the videos. However, as a whole, they are not so outrageous as to be labeled as overly sexualizing Jimin. I think some moments were captured quite well, with enough of an appreciation undertone and tiptoeing on the line but not crossing it.
Park Jimin is a sensual creature. To appreciate him as an artist, it is just impossible to leave out the sex appeal that is wrapped up in a beautiful and talented package.

I honestly don't find a problem with these videos... Like, they are showcasing a side of his stage presence, he's a performer and this is one of his selling points.
To me it crosses the line when, for instance that one video of JK from one of the documentaries, he was backstage having a hard time breathing, he had to take his shirt off and was all sweaty due to just being back from performing. Many people commented on how hot he looked and this and that... Literally dismissing the fact that the poor dude was struggling with his health and trying to get air to his lungs and back to normal.

After rewatching this video a second or even a third time actually, I've come to realize how beautifully sexy Jimin really is. There are so many shots of his face that are utterly gorgeous, sexy, and even erotic because of his beauty and the expressions that he makes. He is the most sexiest man I have ever seen! I find myself wishing I had a photograph (or poster) of several images in each of the 3 videos because they are just so beautiful to look at. People don't get upset, Jimin can take many women and men down. Why is because he has so much sexy charisma, Jimin was born with it just ask Suga. Jimin was born to be a star but he knows it, but he is going to be with his group. I do believe Jimin will be a solo star after military with some members, it will take a few years but he will be something to be reckoned with. In my opinion he is one of the members that has the biggest duality. He can go from being very cute to acting sexy in the blink of an eye. I do believe that there are people that sexualize all seven of them, but I think it’s easier for people to sexualize Jimin because a lot of his habits are considered sexual. For example, him constantly touching, biting, or licking his lips. In another video I commented that when you have naturally plump lips you do this out of habit and not because you’re trying to come off as sexy. I say this because my whole life I’ve had naturally plump lips and as I got older I would touch them more out of frustration, contemplation, or boredom. There have been multiple times that I’ve been accused of trying to bring attention to my lips to be flirtatious or sexy.
