Yeah why should I get punished for my parents smashing in one part of the country. I want to explore the country and hunt animals I never had the chance to hunt growing up.
To many videos about Montana hunting opportunities. The out of state rush of hunters from Washington, Oregon, California etc. really does ruin the hunting experience for the locals. Most pay little respect and treat Montana like a play ground. Game numbers are down. Fish and game still hasn't realized there are way to many non resident tags available. Hopefully the complicated system will keep people out.
@@shanekujala I have points in Montana because it gives me a unit to go to. With the general combo license it's open for most of the state. Being a non-resident I would have no idea where to start. Thanks for the tip though!
@@jakef1977 that makes sense, just giving ya a heads up, I have 12 elk points personally, hunted units with people that take 16-25 points and it’s just not what u expect it to be, throw a dart at a map and you’ll find better opportunities, LE is only good for low hunter number hunts
You say "preference points are purged every year unless an applicant applies" Applies for what... A combo tag, just a preference point (later in the year) or what? So what do I have to apply for so I do not lose my preference point? Thank you.
You better start talking about how they’re gonna take your gun rights away in Colorado before it’s too late. there’s a Bill right now getting ready to be passed. Better speak up.
These videos are how they convince people to sign up. They help manage all these craziness of these application processes, and point systems. Def worth it and great of them to put these out.
Montana is really way too complicated. My brain hurts. Luckily for me I am going out with a guide /outfitter to learn boots on the ground on how it actually works.
On x and go hunt are the downfall of all public hunting. Show up to a spot that had no one for years to having 20+ trucks and wall tents everywhere. All out of state. Cheers to gentrified public lands.
I cannot wait until Montana goes to pick your season.
These point systems are insane
Good don’t hunt here then
thank you! this was super helpful!
And we wonder why it’s getting more crowded every year
Same amount of non resident tags are given out every single year
yes but much more competition on getting those tags.
@@leejohnson8800competitiveness doesn’t change his comment? Same amount of NR tags.. same amount of ppl lol
You are a non res in 49 other states relax!

Thank you God's Blessings

@39builds-h9v They've been giving out the same number of non res permits for years and years. You're imagining things because you suck at hunting.
If I buy a general tag can I still build bonus points?
I know preference points are purged if you don't apply but are bonus points purged if you don't apply each year?
No they’re not. I have 5 for elk deer antelope and haven’t applied for a permit yet
@@chasefreeman254 thanks!
I'm just building points in Montana. I don't know when or if I'm ever going to be available to hunt there but if I do I'll have points to play with.
Points are terrible in Montana, general units are the way to go for everything but antelope

The way I understood it you wouldn't lose your preference point you bought in the summer unless you don't apply the next year

And people wonder why tag prices and guided hunts are becoming so outrageously expensive smh
Why
How about you don’t tell people that haven’t paid for GOHUNT all that information???
Me me me
