Its €900 in ireland for ps5 pro which is normally $950 if convert it still worth it for me hands down vr only way play racing games and if more people buy psvr 2 the better only way we would get a PSVR 3
Finally someone gave me some clarity on whether I should take the time to reconnect my wheel, and bust out some gt7 on my VR2. My pro has been playing Horizon Forbidden West the last couple weeks. I could use a change of pace
The car feels like it’s moving so much faster now. I play in frame rate mode … smooth as butter. I’m a little let down by the graphics but the gameplay feels crazy good …
They say 5 new cars but if you include all the engine swap cars it's always quite a decent number. I'm undecided on the PS5 Pro. I race in VR so if there's any improvement I'm definitely considering it. Edit : I just realised that I watch you most weeks on Thingy's stream as well.
I think the last couple minutes of my video pretty much comes up my stance on the Pro. Thingy does a great job making us look good on our Friday league races.
I have someone in my racing community that I race with every Friday who is a demon in VR. I will try to ask and report back, or if he sees this comment he can reply.
In my case I was already getting most of my games digitally since late in the PS3 lifecycle. I can see in your case that this extra cost for either the optical drive or to buy it digitally is not optimal.
Why is no one saying anything about the lack of UI inside the car for competitive racing. If psvr2 was meant for GT7, then why all this time Sony has not do anything with UI including drivers, the time intervals of the drivers ahead and behind you, your speed and other drivers pitting so you can adjust your strategy in the race. This video means nothing to me to be just little more clearer for$700. I would have paid $1,000 for UI to be updated. Sony looks like they will never fix it. This is the real fix needed not graphics. ps6 could have done that. Obviously you are not serious about your racing or you would be upset too by mentioning it. Sorry to be so upset but these videos burn me up inside. Gaming is fine but a real stretch for $840 with stand and disc drive for just a handful games using this new technology. Now critics are realizing that some the developers have botch their updates already and the games look worse. Thanks for your time.
Because the UI discussion has been beaten to death. You aren’t wrong but at this point most of us have given up on UI changes in VR. Sorry this video “means nothing” to you, but thanks for the comment and your insight.
@@Strannix1979 It's not like there are loads of different strats to use in gt7 it's normally change tyres or don't and after a race or two that becomes clear. Used to bother me at first not having a UI but not anymore and I'm serious about my racing!
I feel you. For league races, daily races, and official championships I still fall back to 2D for now. Other than that I actually use VR with zero HUD at all for immersion purposes.
It was never broken. But yes it makes it much better on the Pro. VR is way smoother now (with the projection option), just compare looking out to the side of a fast car.
Nah, it only fixed reprojection issues but many don't have VR experience they think oh it's higher res and better quality now. If PS just fix Reprojection issues then there will not be any noticeable differences
@BringMeThatLegend it was already smoother before this patch on the ps5 pro but now we actually have extra settings. I literally bought my PS5 Pro for GT7 and I don't regret it. I also have a 7900XTX 7800x3d PC
Both inside and outside of VR, GT7 definitely feels smoother on the PS5 Pro. Is it worth $700 USD? Probably not, but for those of us who like having the newest, it is worth it. This is also the first in-generation upgrade/replacement I've don with ANY Playstation since the Original Playstation where my disc reader eventually overheated and died. I'm glad I went for the Pro this time around.
There is a disc drive accessory if you REALLY need one for your Pro. Pop one side cover off and it attaches right to the Pro. I did not get one from Sony when I bought the Pro.
@2:55 You are talking about the foveated rendering, you can see this clearly on the capture screen but should be invisible in the headset.

Great video!!
Thanks!

I haven't gotten to Forbidden West yet. I just started the series with the remastered Zero Dawn. One of those off stream games to relax and chill.

Without reprojection set to on there is no difference in VR
Also the LOD pop in is so fixed with the Pro... no longer will you see lead cars rear wings pop in a few meters ahead of you...
Main one for me
The newer alfa 8c would LOD pop so hard the rear tail lights turn green😂
very well put video, i also really enjoyed how clear your voice sounds
Thank you for the compliments!

Ok so just so i understand the PSVR2 on the Normal PS5 non Pro is still the same? or is it improved as well?
I have the same question

@@deacondoo Great stuff count me in on that update too - have a good one thanks for the time you took on this
Is it sharper though,im not bothered by pop in or reprojection i just want it to look sharper
Most definitely sharper and smoother.
@deacondoo thats cool,thanks👍
it´s pity that we need to upgrade not only for the ps5 pro but also buy the external disk or buy again GT7 digital
In my case I was already getting most of my games digitally since late in the PS3 lifecycle. I can see in your case that this extra cost for either the optical drive or to buy it digitally is not optimal.
@ i got the gt7 disk on the launch of ps5, so there should be a way to validate it and download the digital version

It’s true that it’s a shame. I did go back to 2D for races with strategy.

I agree getting fed up with people making out the og ps5 version is unplayable in vr.
Trying it out on my PS5 Pro tonight
Umph... So i supose must buy PS5 Pro )))
Oh darn, twisted your arm right there, didn't I? LOL
@deacondoo was going buy it anyway any improvements for vr is always good
Yeah I ain’t buying another ps5.
Did they give Dying Light 2 a proper pro upgrade?
I feel that it is much smoother. I can't say that the graphics are a huge update, but with a game like DL2, the smoother gameplay does help a ton.
Is it $700us better?
Absolutely
@@frogboyx1Gaming Really? Man, if this is so I may have to go grab a pro tomorrow!

GT7 for PC when?
I'm 50/50 on getting a pro atm, but some of these changes might bump me to do something in the new year :D Thanks @deacondoo

I'll need a second Ps5 soon, so might try to push. Only issue is no CD drive I need for Gt7... oof
Keep us posted sir on your adventures!!

would be nice if they released gt7 on pc to try on 4090 vr :D
