Its not that you were lacking beavers. You were lacking beavers with all the needs met (i.E. green beavers, your beavers were yellow). From what I could see, they were lacking water (when I played that level, I had to blow a couple lakes in the forests for the beavers). I think the same happened on the other map where you didn't get 100% (you had the animal, but it wasn't green). I usually do a round to make sure that I have at least one of each species happy after I hit 12/12, but before packing up. A couple of times I actually had to engage in biome reformation at that point because some combo was missing (for example enough wetlands+fynbos for frogs, or water+forest for beavers, in your case), and this is why I do the check before packing up.

I had the exact same issue. Not enough water for the beavers. And I had the exact same solution aswell 😂

You lost wetlands because you set up a dehumidifier right next to some, and dried it up.
