i think the fight is bugged. im pressing the buttons for dodges and parrys well within the timing window w/ the easier window perks but i cant seem to trigger them.
same here, I was doing great against the other bosses, this guy the prompts do not seem to be working. even parering annd dodging seems off for this fight.
This guy in general his timings suck. The dodges timings are not when you'd think they were. Holmes does great videos, with this fight I'd almost wish he'd say when the move is at this point you dodge, because he obviously found out when they were but the timings don't feel very accurate or when you think you would
Like his head slam yellow attack, I slowed the video down and he doesn't start his dodge until after gigas hits the ground... Like who created that hit box
I did it after about 40 attempts. First, you naturally learn his moves and when to parry as you repeat it over and over. Then you learn to keep dodging when he's glowing red. Most important thing is to back off every now and then. I found the blink to be ridiculous on this boss, i.e. it flashed my blade blue for such a short time I couldn't hit circle fast enough. I think I got maybe one of those hits in.
The dodging in this game is super weird. I'm so used to a souls game where the moment the movement starts down dodge but this game it varies so much. Each move has such a different timing on it. And the forward charge is ridiculous to perfect dodge. Literally don't know when to dodge. He's literally in your face but that's not the time to dodge. Alot of his dodge timings are very weird timing
Couldn't agree with you more. I had to drop it to story mode after 3 hours of trying to bit the boss. Unfortunately story mode is a cake walk. The difficulty levels are ludicrous. It's either way to easy or on normal the dodge and parry modes become near impossible to use due to the timing issues you mentioned. I love the game so much but it's definitely a bit buggy with some features.
@@CornballLyric I have found it throws you in to difficult bosses before you've got the muscle memory required to actually fight them. As a consequence you have to attempt it between two dozen and a hundred times before you get it right and then of course you're not sure why you got it right. I had that experience with the Corruptor, which is apparently "easy". Now I'm on the first Gigas and it's next to impossible. I don't want to drop it to story mode... :(
@@xHolmesWalkthroughsx7 yup brute is in the 1st desert area, in the city ruins area, drop down a large hole and he's at the bottom. Forget what the quest is called tbh. Eastern side of the wasteland map. There's a broken bridge with a turret at the end of it that has a balloon thing. Hope this helps ya to figure out where I'm talking about

Nice fight! My stats were higher when i encountered this....nerve wrecking abomination of a boss fight. Got my ass handed to me about 20 times😅 Main issue being the camera to be honest. Waaaay too close for my comfort. Although sometimes the timings (perfect dodge/parry) felt weird. But honestly it was more a matter of seeing what was happening (a whole lotta mess of flying dirt, fluids and rocks), rather than fighting against clumsy controls. I really wish the devs put an adjustable FOV.
Fighting this boss was like fighting that optional extra boss from the Demo. Hard but satisfying. Once I got those parries going, easy lol. With dodging, does the direction actually matter?
Saltyaf38 For reals lol! I resorted to utilizing the gun and quickly shot the barrels as (lucky for me) he seemed to land next to them every time he jumped back to create distance. It dealt massive damage, and along with perfect dodge coupled with the powered counterattacks, I took him down fairly easily. The perfect counter definitely seemed a bit buggy for me, and the camera angle was really whack at times. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be that way, or if I had gotten a bit rusty after a day of not playing (lol), but...he's dead now so I guess alls well that ends well for all of us who have defeated him haha!
@@Saltyaf38 I've since 100% the game and if you want to absolutely cheese the game use the suppression spine and either the burst or beta spine. For beta abilities L1 + Circle is your best friend as it downs, then for burst abilities they can all down but I liked using R1 + Triangle for extra balance damage. You can effectively permanently CC any boss fight like this and beat them while they're down, also dont forget the grenades for knocking them down too.
Corruptor was weird for me. I just couldn't "get it". Tried about 50 times and failed every time. Next evening, I defeated it easily on the second attempt. I think a night of sleep made some connections concrete, so I had much better muscle memory, timing and coordination. It's weird how that works.
When he goes Berserker mode after going Berserker mode in the 2nd half is insane.

I hate this boss with a passion. Such horrible design to have a boss that either runs away from you or overly aggressively chases after you.
not to mention the camera is so fucking up close you cant see wtf the boss is doing half the time.

This Boss is very boring.
Took me one hours and finally beat him 😥. In other hand, the nearby horse boss (corrupter) are much easier and only took me 3 attempt to win 😁.
