  • Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
    Coming up
We follow Jeremy Hosking's ex Southern Railway West Country Bulleid Pacific 34046 Braunton still carrying the identity of scrapped battle of Britain pacific 34052 Lord Dowding.
Before this video starts as you have seen over the last month in the national media about the terminally ill loving young boy Alfie Evans.
Sadly the day before The Welsh Boarders trip the adorable young boy past away. Our thoughts & condolences goes out to his family at this very difficult time.
This video is dedicated in young Alfie's memory.
    #R.I.PAlfieEvans
We start this video a week before The Welsh Boarder Explorer trip at Crewe Locomotive Services headquarters as we see the pacific being prepared for crew training runs from Crewe to Chester & back.
We see the 1st crew training run departure at Crewe as we see the loco leave the depot before stopping briefly in the station before continuing to Chester.
2 hours later we see the bulleid returned to complete the 1st round trip.
We see Braunton head off to Bashford Hall to turn round before returning to the station to take on water before the start of the 2nd round trip to Chester.
During the water stop this gave me the chance to have a gd look round the loco including exclusive cab access to the pacific.
Soon it was time to go & we got out just ahead of the bullied as we head to Chester to see Braunton roll in.
After a signal check the bulleid headed off to turn on the triangle before we end this part of the video with Braunton heading for home back to Crewe.
Then a week later came the main event. Saphos trains 2nd revenue train under Locomotive Services. We see the bulleid & his 9 coach load & a 47 at the rear pass us at the road bridge just outside Gobowen as the Braunton heads for Telford which is were we end this video.
Thanks for reading enjoy the film.
