"Tame" Ruffed Grouse

An amazing "tame" grouse joins us on the road. This ruffed grouse (Bonasa umbellus) is exhibiting a very uncommon overly-territorial behavior that makes it bold enough to approach people. This type of behavior is quite rare, especially outside of the breeding season in the spring. Most ruffed grouse are extremely shy and are rarely seen.
