Congratulations on another great video and also on the fact that you found a smart way to put this game into an easy solo-mode!
The only thing that was kind of "left out" were the schools that give each fighter a status-buff, a free combat Skill and a signature attack.
In the end i think it doesn't matter that much... Especially if you are trying to make an entertaining RUclips-video ;)
I will definitely try out your "does the enemy defend?"-roll. While it is more or less the same as using my before mentioned idea it has the benefit of easily adding a +1/-1 modification to simulate a more cineastic approach... Maybe -1 if the enemy lost two dice in a row or +1 if the same happened to the hero.
And this brings me to the final thing I have to say:
You have my full respect for your ability to stay neutral in those heated story's! I definitely need a lot of random dice rolls cause in my head, there is always one side that ends up as the enemy.
Your videos are cool, you are cool, the minis are cool and the birds in the background are cool!
    Have a nice day!

I love the flavor of the schools and the opportunity for some light role-play elements. Double fisting this game means that is a rule suite too far for my grug brain to handle. Maybe if I get an opponent sometime.

What a great mechanic! The d6/d20 choice reminds me of a Epée World Cup final bout I've studied. Leipzig 2005? I think. F. Jeannet (FRA) uses d20 and P. Kolobkov (RUS) uses d6. Doesn't quite capture it, but it's a good beginning.

It occurred to me today, that this game would work really well using those D&D interior location maps with a one inch grid printed on them.

Cool! Hey- what game system had the Napoleonic wars with elves, orcs, dwarves and undead (the Russians) - it was in the 90’s - an entire miniature line- any idea what it was?
