    Great lesson. You always have some really practical ideas to try. So on the Lydian dominant trick, on a G7 you would play the chord tones of an A7? Did I get that right?

    What about open chords? Like C maj, E maj?

      Those are the easiest. Just play a C Major Pentatonic or Am Pentatonic, for E the same E Major Pentatonic or C#m Pentatonic. You need to know your major and relative minor scales. Your relative minor is usually 3 frets down from your root. Example using the 6th string C is on the 8th fret, its relative minor is 3 frets back on the 5th which is Am.
