IN LOVING MEMORY OF CRESCENCIO HERNÁNDEZ 6/19/1946-7/19/2017
With a natural voice that reflects maturity and style, Crescencio Hernández holds within him a deep love for Mexican music. Proud of his home town, Chapala, Jalisco, he starts his musical career at age 3 by influence of Priest Raúl Navarro and teacher José Odilón Navarro, both his main impellers in the world of music. After playing the triangle in his home town music band for a while, continues his musical education under the right guidance of his uncle and protector, Mr. José Hernández Montoya, building a discipline that Crescencio would later teach to his own students. It is during his adolescence when he starts his career as a Mariachi trumpet player, and decides to emigrate to the United States, where he is invited to be part of the most important Mariachi in the American Union:”Los Camperos de Nati Cano”. Due to his talent as a trumpet player and his singular sound, receives the invitation of Mr. Silvestre Vargas, at age 18, to join the world’s best, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, becoming the youngest member of the Mariachi Vargas and making history as a trumpet player.
During that time, landmark recordings were made, many still considered true musical jewels today, in which Crescencio Hernández took part with his singular trumpet sound next to José Alfredo Jimenez, Lucha Villa, Miguel Aceves Mejía, Estela Nuñez, Felipe Arriaga, Yolanda del Río, among others. In the decade of 1990, Crescencio’s restlessness to improve himself takes him to an intensive seminar in composition and musical arrangements at the prestigeous Dick Grove’s School of Music, known world-wide as the best school of modern harmony.
In 1992 he becomes Vicente Fernández’ Musical Director, and later for Alejandro Fernández, who inspires him to write the song “El Potrillo”, composition and musical arrangement both authorship of Crescencio Hernández, being this song the one that gives Alejandro his personal identity. Not satisfied with these achievements, he decides to take two Audio Engineering courses, summing to his career as a recording producer, which shows in his debut production entitled “Sabor a México”, composing, arranging, and giving proof again of his creative capacity.
Due to his prestige as an arranger and producer, he participates in Victor Manuel Lujan´s “Antes la Ausencia”, conducting and arranging for strings and brass sections, fully demostrating his potential and experience in a totally different kind of session, now with an orchestra, quite opposite to Mariachi.
Considered a very important representative of our traditions, proud of his musical roots and a lover of Mexican music, he is compromised with the new generations to show and teach them about the wonderful world of Mariachi, creating a new generation of songs and musical arrangements, beginning with the most authentic ‘Son’ through the ‘Huapango’, ‘Rancheras’ and classical music.

Esta catalogado como el mejor trompetista del mundo y la técnica que logro desarrollar de hacer la respiración continua pero articulando esa no a habido alguien que la mejore
