Have you managed to get anything more than one finger touch to work with MacOS please? I noticed that in your video when zooming in on the map, you were double tapping. The Amazon page states… “[Touch for MacOS] Support single touch when connecting to a Macbook without need of driver. Compares to most other touchscreens need driver, help you save 120€/95£ cost” Also, I note this is said to work with USB-C iPads, would it work with iPhone 15 Pro with USB-C? Many thanks
The monitor is not capable than more than the OS has built into it. MacOS is not made for touch so some things will be limited but with other things like on an Android phone that would be different. I would search the Amazon pages questions as there is a ton more info in there.
Looking into touchscreen monitors for this exact reason - especially with the new release of M4 Mac Mini! Hoping it would be an absolute dream for Mainstage
I can see where this might be useful with a MacBook but traveling is another thing. I don't know how most folks feel but when I am away from home I want something that is light and portable and I don't want to have to lug another monitor around. I usually take my iPad with me when I travel. It fits the bill perfectly for me but of course I can't answer for everyone. Thanks for the video.
Yes, the iPad is a good choice also. This is for people that need a bunch of real-estate on the screen when traveling but overall it's not a huge package when in the case.
Thanks! I wonder if the Touch-Base software would make it work better when connected to a Mac. I really needed the multi touch feature but I haven't found any good videos yet. I will keep looking.
Hi Craig, this looks interesting! I am looking for touchscreen so I can use my macbook pro with either Final Cut or iMovie. How is that? Are you able to zoom in on videos using a 'squeeze' like finger gesture or swipe like? Thanks!
If Zooming is not built into MacOS then it would not work on the monitor. For things like Android phone etc. that has it built into the OS it should work. There is a ton of good info on the Amazon page under the questions and how it all works for additional info but there are going to be some limitations due to MacOS.
I do a ton of audio recording on my Mac. This would be great to use as a screen for the mixer. Then I could get in there like I use to with physical mixers instead of using a mouse on the digital mixer. I just hope it supports all Mac computers from 2019 on. I have a 2019 iMac. All I have on mine are the thunderbolt ( usb c ) ports. Hopefully this will work with them.
I would review the Amazon page to see if this fits your needs. I'm not sure but it should have all the info on that page including other comments from people using the device. Thank you.
I didn't need any drivers. It's not 100% perfect but adds some touch functionality for sure. I would read more comments on Amazon but overall it should work without drivers.
At first glance this might be ideal for someone like me that would like to travel with my M2 Pro Mac mini. I could easily stuff this in my big briefcase along with my mini and keyboard. I wouldn't need to bring the magic track pad but could if I wanted to. Even better, at the end of the clip I see you might be able to connect it to your smartphone? Brilliant. Then all you may need is the small power brick to power it. I see second video coming for this monitor? Now you don't even need an iPad or tablet and it would be a lot cheaper. I have to look into this for traveling.
I use a similar monitor for about five years. It has two usb c ports - one for power delivery and one - to connect to a computer. I was never able to make it work with an external power supply on MacBook. I had to power it exclusively from my MacBook. Recently I found out - why. The usb c connector is two way! The monitor can draw power from the MacBook or it can power the laptop. So when both of them have a power supply connected, the MacBook software gets confused. Now I used the monitor as a pass through device to deliver power to the laptop. It saves a usb c port on my MacBook and reduces load on the external ports. Too bad these Chinese monitors do not have proper documentation.
Is there any additional settings to make it work? I have a similar one but the touch screen works only if the mouse cursor is on it. If my mouse is on my primary display, the touch doesn't work. It just moves the mouse on my main dispay as if it is touch pad. I am on Mac Mini M2
in my case, if i touch on my portable monitor, the cursor always follows my finger. Is it possible to configure the touch like a mobile phone screen ? or is it not compatible for macos ? if i tried to connect my portable monitor to my windows PC or mobile phone, it works pretty well
I have not tried it on the iPhone yet but I'll let you know if I do. I would also check the amazon link as there are a ton of comments on how it works on that page.
thank u for you reply i have used amazon link that you provide and it turns out it can be connected to iphone with lightning to HDMI adapter but the touch feature will not be active on the portable monitor @@craigneidel
I don't think it works get with iOS but check out the comments on the Amazon page. It appears to work with a ton of other setups like Android but right now only the MacOS I think.
Has anyone figured out how to use a touchscreen as an extended monitor where it will function if the mouse cursor isn't on the touchscreen display? Any touchscreen monitor I have used on a mac will function but only if the mouse cursor is on the touchscreen display. If the mouse cursor is on the other display, the touch screen essentially just functions as a trackpad... which is useless.
Nice proof-of-concept, but in God's name, WHY?? An iPad Pro is one thing, but a "touchscreen Mac"? Doesn't make any more sense than a touchscreen Windows PC.
It's a bonus and maybe for business that has a Mac App like checking into a business when they arrive. Or paying a game. It's basically the same cost so why not?

Made for the pro audio world and musicians. I can add this to my keyboard station connected to my Mac mini. Running stems would be easy
It can be used that way. Just make sure it does everything you need and there is a bunch more stuff listed on the product page. Thanks for watching.

You can always give it a try and return it if it doesn't meet your needs.
Thanks so much for this review! very thorough ... going to use this on my music stand so i can compose at the piano
Thanks. It's not perfect but as good as you can do on a Mac. Good luck with everything.

Hey, how does the touch screen feel compared to an actual iPad? thanks
@@tommy2nes it's not going to be as good as the actual ipad screen.

Can the Usbc chord fit into my MacBook airs thunderbolt ports?
Not sure as you don't list your Air's age.
@@craigneidel It’s a 2022.
Yes, if it's an M Chip MacBook it fits the correct dates.

It's basically a bonus since it's about the same cost as a normal travel monitor. So at the end of the day it's a good value for what it is.
Does anyone know what its like with a Mac Mini, is it plug and play?
It should be plug and play but it only offers basic touch like I had mentioned and not a full pinch and zoom touch experience.
Craig, do you know if universal control works on this device?
I have not tested that yet but will let you know if I do. I would also search the Amazon page under the questions as sometimes it's in there also.

Inetersting device.
Any chance this thing works with the Apple Pencil 2?
I don't have an Apple Pencil 2 to test but if somebody tests post it here.

Doesn't really work great with any advanced stylus, but with finger or a cheaper pointer type stylus it works fine.
