SS3 was so unexpected in DBZ. I remember back in 90's when Buu arc was airing they did not reveal Super Saiyan 3 but hinted at a power. So when Goku said this is even beyond I was 9 yrs old and my mouth was open. I remember me and my friends were talking about SS3 in school next day!
Same happened to me but with Dragon Ball super. I wasn't alive in the 90s but i sure experienced an similar memory like yours in the Tournament of Power saga, after the day Goku obtained UI, i was talking about that all day with my schoolmates. Seems like Dragon Ball still suprises

God I remember coming home from school excited to watch DBZ and this happened (Goku turning SSJ3). I was 12 years old and this was the most epic thing I'd ever seen. This theme just made the moment even more special.
Whats interesting to state that SSJ3 is in an entirely different leauge than SSJ and SSJ2, and same thing happened to me as Well, hell SSJ3 is still one of my favorites in the dbz universe.
Agreed. Its mainly because this transformation was so unexpected. There were no hints in the story about anything beyond SSJ2. Goku just dropped it outta nowhere
I will still be grieving over the loss of Akira Toriyama tomorrow and for probably a long time after that, but we should try not to be sad that he's gone, but glad that he lived, thankful that we had him at all. Akira Toriyama was a teacher to millions across the world, and what he taught will live on... Legends never die.

The fact that Goku begins the transformation sequence with "You're going to love this" (at least in the original english dub) is awesome. It's not only a thing that Goku knows about how Buu will react, but also how WE, as the AUDIENCE will react.

honestly, i think that it was better when you saw goku having a TRUE transformation for once. a true transformation like the first SSJ, triggered by anger. Everything else was just training. I want anger, and a sudden burst of power. I feel like cell should've killed gohan ssj2, goku gets angry, goes ssj3 and that is how it continues on

So you mean Gohan ssj2 kills cell, cell comes back as super perfect, Gohan dies, Goku goes ssj2, whoops cells ass in an epic battle of Kamehameha then get fucked when majin buu comes along like 7 years later.
I used to be overweight. I was scared to go to the gym because I know I would get judged. Then i heard this song. No longer was I afraid of what people thought. I put my headphones in, went into that place, ignored the outside world and became a super saiyan within myself and I lost over 100lbs. I'm still going strong! >:D my power level is over 9000!!!

I pulled my pants down, sat on the toilet, clenched my ass cheeks and started ascending to Super Saiyan 3. I screamed for 6 minutes straight, pushing the shit and created a 14 inch monster. I lost 6lbs.
Something about this theme always gives off this immense optimistic energy, like it's one of those light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel feelings.
This song for some reason helps me push my limit when training. I feel a power inside myself. I think this songs unlocks our spirit energy as it reminds us of how Goku pushed his limits and reached SS3

I remember when ssj3 happened, holy hell everyone's mind was blown. The world rattled. Everyone i knew was drawing that shit as a kid, or their computer background was ssj3. My brothers would draw him all the time...Good old days...

toonami in 2002-2003 was dbz wrapping up in the states and the music acting and visuals were so on point..if only the buu arc wasn't so tedious we would all call it th best experience ever..it really was special to watch as a kid
I always come back and listen to this as a avid dbz fan this theme shows pure masculinity and power definitely one of the best themes out there and one of the best scenes in anime.

No no no this is what would happen 4 mins ssj3 1hr ssj God 5hrs ssj blue and 20 hours ssjb Kaioken Atk 25 ssjb Kaioken x10 30 hours ultra instinct omen and as vegeta would say OVER 9000 hours MASTERD ULTRA INSTINCT
At the moment it was good for clutch but SSj2 is a better overall form for Stamina usage, then again God and Blue (and Kaio-Ken) probably drain further and 3 is mastered at this point. Still favorite transformation.

This might not have been enough to stop Buu, but it marked the beginning of the end for Babidi. The reign of terror he had been unleashing on the earth, stopped by the most powerful warrior the earth had ever seen, and stalling out Buu long enough for him to realize he didn't have to listen to Babidi's orders anymore. It was the start of things improving for the better... until Super Buu came and fucked everything up.
Quinton Blackburn But Super Buu would have never came had it not been for Hercule getting shot. Ironically Super Buu was evil but in all reality he was throwing a tantrum. I don't think Buu ever cared about anyone and seeing someone who was his friend got hurt made him lose it.
SSJ3 was far stronger than fat buu but Goku, being Goku, didn't fight at full and kill fat buu, kid buu is stronger than fat buu and 100% SSJ3 could destroy him.

God I remember coming home from school excited to watch DBZ and this happened (Goku turning SSJ3). I was 12 years old and this was the most epic thing I'd ever seen. This theme just made the moment even more special.
