    That part at 3min15 where he mentions the actual cause of the hyperkeratinization (which ultimately is the trigger that starts the cycle) is unknown :(
    That seems to be the "genetic factor" dermatologists refer to when they talk about your skin being "defective" compared to normal skin. Our skin function is genetically broken and not as usual. Something about keratinocytes being sticky and forming clogs instead of shedding the way they do for everyone else.

      @@xDomglmao it's the part that makes me sad, though! I seem to be doomed to a life of mild but persistent adult acne where I have to spend money and time on medicated products to keep it under control! I can't even remember what it's like to wake up as a kid and not think nor care about what my face looked like! How depressing lol

    great video but Im wondering why the bacteria thrives in sebum if it is meant to have bactericidal properties. Isnt sebum part of the non specific immune defence?

      +hussam z hello , actually the hair follicles and sebaceous galnds are present all over the skin except the palm of the hand and the sole of the foot , so acne can potentially apear in any place except those

    • @luu4448
      @luu4448 3 года назад +1

      When you introduce oxygen in the sebum rich area I.e via popping the pimple and breaking skin, the oxygen oxidises the sebum and causes black heads i.e open comodome. Without rich oxygen supply they would be white heads I.e closed comodome
