Teunissen won stage 1 of the 2019 TdF on this bike, too! Memorable day on the tour. I've been curious about this bike ever since. Thanks for the review, Matt.
Noice vid Matt and the gang. I have a bog standard aluminium Bianchi frame that still rides beautifully after almost a decade. I can't wait for the clip of you with the guru Mr Holm 🤙🏼
The first time I rode Countervail carbon, I thought it was just marketing b.s., but I got 500m down the road and had to stop and check that my tyres weren't soft as I couldn't feel the usual road vibration. Is really noticeable through corners too - tracks so much truer. Descending is true and fast as well. Run it with high-tech, supple tyres and it is Wow!.
Bianchis are the coolest of cool bikes - discuss. Ok, discussion over. The heritage and that fantastic colour, celeste. Owning one is on my bucket list and time is running out so do me a deal, Sigma. When I get one I'll book a room with it.
I had a sempre a few years back and the frame was agile but also nice on long distances. Remember though that the bike manufacture is rarely beyond a framset so essentially you like the frame as the other bits are on lots of bikes.
@@glennoc8585 It's just that bit too far to go, ride there, ride for 3 hours then ride back. And I can do a supermarket run in Spain, much cheaper. Ps, screw Brexit!
@@greedfox7842 LOL that is definitely a colour combination approach - would never have thought of matching a handgun to a bike..! Then again living in Australia there's no such opportunity to have one, or to be honest, need one - matching or not!

What I want to know, Matt, is this: where did that Patagonia hoody come from, did you unfurl it from a jersey pocket, your team support or neutral service vehicle?
RepsacZ when your looking at bikes where the frame is 4500 dollars what could be wrong ? It’s like doing a review of the latest Ferrari and what would be your complaint , it doesn’t have a back seat ?
Most internet reviewers aren't going to be critical because they have to keep a good relationship with vendors in order to keep getting the latest models lended to them.
I see SigmaSports have listed what Matt was wearing for this which is an excellent idea for that helmet came into its own while on the move as opposed to the still pictures on the website. Will start looking out for different products on your videos...………….and buy more :)
Are the world Tour teams choosing a certain brand because they feel they are the best for them or are they chosen for commercial reasons ?. I do not recall Bianchi at the 22 tour which is interesting - as I recall Mitchelton Scott using them in '21. The colour I remember is called celeste. I seem to remember Ullrich wearing that jersey awhile ago. Good review I thought.
The Oltre XR4 CV is described as a road bike with race-orientated geometry. It has fantastic performance in all areas but is also an incredible climbing bike.
Hello i want ask you. I want to buy one oltre xr4!what are you say rim brake or disk brake? Mecanical dura ace or Electronic ultegra di2?? Please say your opinion!!
My first road bike was a 8 year old aluminium Bianchi Via Nitrone 7 with campagnolo veloce 2x10. About as basic at the Bianchis come but still a really comfortable bike to ride. Do yourself a favour and get a cheap old bianchi as a runaround bike, you won’t reget it.

Hello, The bottle cage is the VEL Carbon-I Bottle Cage > www.sigmasports.com/item/VEL/Carbon-I-Bottle-Cage/L1E4 In regards to rim or disc it does come down to personal opinion a lot but disc brakes are much better in the wet weather, they prolong the life of your wheels and they are also more powerful! Bianchi in celeste- classic, elegant... just a thing of beauty!
Why is watching Matt Stephen’s ride bikes so much fun?
Matt Stephens......legend of two wheels.....go Matt!

It's a great all-rounder and that day at the TdF proves it!

Bianchi with Mavic love going on here. Gloves, shoes, clothing, wheels. That thro-axle tho' - lovely.
The most beautiful bike I’ve ever seen and I finally bought one. I’ll happily ride this bike until I’m too old and then give it to my son.
Really iconic bike, I love Bianchi, especially the super clean cockpit
The big question matt is! Is it easy to clip in :)
Nothing like a Bianchi in Celeste………brings back so many memories - cheers team and Matt !
What a beauty. And the bike too.
Great to have found you, Matt. Good job, as always.

Always nice watching Matt! But in general, I can't remember ever seeing a negative or even critical review of an expensive bike...
There isn't much of anything wrong with them. You also have to remember he is working for Sigma Sports. They sell them.
It's not in his nature i think he'd rather not say much if he's not liking something.

Is this a endurance bike? Is this a all rounder bike for specially climbing?

Hey Matt, when you're on the bike, you have a similar posture as Pedro Delgado.
Can someone please explain what's meant by the '10 degrees of sweep'? I can't visualise it..
The sweep is the forward angle of the bars. From the stem, the tops angle forward at 10 degrees from perpendicular to the stem. :-)
Did they win on the disc version?

Matt has had a full bike fit at our Hampton Wick store and we set up his bikes to these measurements before he rides them. Cheers, Lucy
