Thank you for defending the youth, Dr. Aaron! It's always nice to see when an adult of our parent's age (as well as data!) has our back every now and then. :)
My daughter just turned 21, and I have a niece and nephew turning 16 this year. They are so much better than we were as kids. I was just talking to my sisters last night about how much better our kids are than we were at their ages. Kids today are fine. I want to send some parents I see to parenting classes, but that's a different issue altogether.
Though I decided long ago not to have children (unless I adopted or fostered) I still believe this video is spot on, as the kids I interact with are amazing now and I have no doubt will be great when they get older.
They was also suicide "Seriously considered a suicide attempt in past year" rates, which by with all the talked about "cyber bulling" and "internet shaming" with their "links to suicide" would lead reasonable people to believe that suicide rates in teens are the highest ever, but no, it is almost half of that it was in 1991 (17% vs 29%). This is not to say that things like "cyber bulling" should be totally ignored, just that it's effects are not as massive as people would lead you to believe.
+Geoff Nattrass The news is always about the rare. "Someone breathed" (nor is car deaths) isn't a news story because they are everyday events. The problem is that people viewing the news assume that news is the norm; when by defintion it is the exceptions to the norm that make the news. So people believe that terrorists are high risk threat they need to worry about, but don't think much about their risk of heart attack.
+Jeremy Streich We also have news are trends. Obesity is not rare, but they are a great deal of news about it. But news seems always be focused on the negative which shifts the public perception away from reality. It is not just "kids" but everything. Gallup asks people about if they "Feel Safe Walking at Night Near Home" and rate at which people fell unsafe has risen dramatically in the past 12 years, a 22% increases from 30% to 37% . People believe crime has increase but the fact is that crime has fallen dramatically in recent decades. All violent crimes have fallen by 27% across all violent crimes types. In the past 20 years, violent crime rates have been halved, but no one would EVER guess that from watching the news. News in American is not a service that informs Americans, it is a business that shows what ever gets people to watch and negativity gets people to watch.
Kids these days are way more mature then 30 years ago. They have so much exposure to the world thanks to the internet. I remember the only exposure I got was via the neighborhood kids and magazines.
I feel like the "sexed up" thing is 1) media hype, and 2) more that younger generations are more informed - because of awesome channels like this one! - about sex and the realities of it. I think that's why condom use is up, and why teen pregnancies are declining. Education and information is the key.
Would you please consider an episode on personality disorders, particularly what the DSM-IV called "cluster A" & "cluster c" PDs? There seems to be a bunch of "lay-friendly" info out there about the so-called "cluster b" disorders, compared to almost one on the others.(I'm referring to the DSM-IV because I've no idea what the DSM-V says about PDs: Australia (where I live) uses the ICD10 for coding, rather than the USA's DSM.)
My 13 year old daughter is so much better than I was at her age. Smarter, nicer, more empathetic, more mature, and far more self-aware. Also, I was born the same year as you Aaron! Am I older or younger? Birthday Nov 20th...
I was making a joke, a passing comment, about the hypocrisy of many boomers - something not to be taken too seriously. Also, you just sound you've turned in to a bitter old person before your time. You're doing exactly what every previous generation does to the youths of their day by wrongfully criticizing their lifestyles and the media/technology of the day. Who gives a shit whether you grew up with dial-up and they didn't?
+AFGNCAAP the great Not only is he bitter, he's also spamming the same thing on dozens of comments on this video, and it's been relevant to *none* of them.
I've never quite understood what the problem is with teens having sex. As long as they do it safely by using condoms/contraception, what's the harm? I don't get it. The whole fearmongering about sex has actually made me put it off for quite a long time until my late teens, which I regretted a little once I discovered how much fun it is and how important it is in your social/romantic development. I wish it wasn't made out to be so evil and dirty and dangerous and whatnot. It's perfectly normal and natural to have sex, just do it safely.
+liltonyabc massively is an exaggeration. More kids are overweight. But that's not their fault. American food companies are refusing to just use less sugar and salt. Instead they give people the choice of nasty over salted and over sweetened foods or ever worse tasting "diet" foods that are high in other stuff like fat or calories.
***** Well, “generation Z”, if that's what we're calling them, are still children! So, anything on them isn't final. Give them time to figure themselves out, develop character traits and be emotionally consolidate before comparing to others! But, sure, they're bound to be different. They're the first generation not to know the world without the internet
ColoringKaria Majority overweight. Is that better for you? I don't see how you can call nearly 70% of the population as overweight or obese as anything other than massive.
I'm glad that they're making healthier decisions about drugs, sex, etc. However, as a college educator, my main concern with "kids these days" is academic entitlement (which is the actual key term in case you'd like to look this up on Google Scholar) and the negative learning outcomes that go along with it. It would be really interesting to see an episode like this on attitudes, mental health, etc.
With physical discipline deemed as uncivil in both jail and raising a child. Children and criminals swiftly learn that they can exploit the system with little to no consequence. Dose controlled, non abusive, physical discipline have a greater impact on physiological development then verbal discipline? I've worked in customer witnessing parents get into the situation where a child is controlling there parents like a pair of dogs. Could the absence of physical discipline be contributing to the bossism? No matter where I look it seams the normal thing to do is to "carry our horses." Or "carry are cars" in a more modern metaphor.
The generation gap decline stuff is just psychological and it's been with us for centuries. I think there is even a scientific name. I figured out it wasn't true right after graduating from highschool and talking to some former colleague about how the new generations that came after us were so stupid. I thought I must have been a bit presumptuous so I looked into it more. Turns out, kids today are pretty great.
Wait are these from those surveys they make us take in school? Because if so, I do have to question the reliability of the information since most people don't really trust the anonymity of the surveys, and I wouldn't be surprised if many students who actually do participate in these behaviors wouldn't respond that they do. (On the other hand, there's a lot of people who joke around and say that they do all the drugs so maybe that offsets some of it.)
Re: obesity, wasn't it in the 80s that food manufacturers replaced real sugar with high-fructose corn syrup in all their processed stuff? And isn't that when obesity rates started climbing/when doctors were instructed to note when patients were overweight/obese, even when they weren't coming in for a problem that wasn't related to their weight ?
I think this show is awesome, and I mean this more as a philosophical inquiry than a criticism. Everything you said came from survey data: how do you know that today's culture doesn't just pressure teens to lie more?
+Amanda Lee Dube Would that imply that today's teens may be doing just as badly or worse than other generations, but they feel more guilty about it? I suppose that, with all the abilities of modern computers, it's more easy to be paranoid that a computerized survey is monitored, which may encourage lying out of fear. The usual argument is that modern media encourages underage drinking, smoking, sex, etc. and that sobriety and virginity mean less than they did "in my day." So if one agrees wholeheartedly with the anti-whippersnapper movement, it wouldn't make sense that teens were lying out of guilt. One would probably have to look through police and hospital records to see how many teens have been arrested or hospitalized for drug or alcohol use, although those could point towards a greater police crackdown on drugs or increased hospital efficiency.
Not that I want you to single out one person, but could you analyze the 'freelee the banana girl' diet? Many girls in my high school are starting to follow it. It focuses on a high carb vegan lifestyle, the vast majority of your food intake is fruit and calories seemingly don't matter. Maybe it's because I've been so influenced by the food industry, but it seems like this may not provide key nutrients and contain too much sugar.
+holypicklesmofo I googled this and it appears to be a drastic "lifestyle" diet promoted by an internet 'celebrity' - which means it's almost certainly nonsense.
+holypicklesmofo Healthcare Triage might be less suited to just general information on diet as it pertains to health and weight loss. As long as a.) your caloric intake is lower than your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure), you will lose weight, provided that b also applies. As long as b.) you are eating enough to get the vitamins, minerals, and energy you need to support your lifestyle and metabolism. Deficiencies can cause any number of health disorders, including gaining weight despite having a lower intake than TDEE. What you eat is less important than those two things. It is worth noting, however, that our body absorbs nutrients from actual foods, versus nutritional supplements, at far greater rates, as well as actual food having more trace minerals and vitamins that supplements cannot account for. Supplements are good if you have a specific vitamin deficiency, however. That being said, there is also the golden rule aside from deficiency of over-consumption of a specific thing. Fruit does contain large amounts of sugar, this is true, which can lead to anything from bad breath and teeth decay over time, to a crapped-out liver and diabetes. You would be best served to just stand up and yell at the top of your lungs at these girls that, a.) fast weight loss isn't healthy, they are literally hurting themselves without realizing it. It may not kill them, but it will hurt them in both long and short run, and that b.) cutting calories by eating just a little less each day, and/or adding a one-or-two mile walk may be all they need to lose weight or maintain it, and it will be far better for them in the long run. Also, c.) encourage them to learn more about TDEE, as I have found just knowing the numbers you need to shoot for will often encourage an individual to look at their caloric intake, and cut accordingly, whether to maintain or gain weight. It's surprising to know that the amount needed is actually quite higher than you would think. Basically, just tell them to educate themselves on their bodies and how it all works instead of taking someone at their word. It's not about counting calories, so much as getting an idea of how calorie-heavy certain foods can be. You can eat them, but remember to eat something nutritious but lighter in calories in the next day or so to compensate.
+holypicklesmofo Doesn't that usually come bundled with outlandish amounts of exercise, though? As far as the high carb content, you can eat as many calories as you want as long as you're burning them off. I don't know about Freelee specifically, but Durianrider has posted several blood tests, and he seems to be doing the same kind of high-carb high-fruit 30-bananas-a-day sort of diet. Unless he's flat-out lying (which I won't rule out), he seems to be doing great.
That's the thing. At times, she eats 3000-5000 calories a day and while she is active does not do enough to burn that off. Yet, she is undeniably very slim and has lost weight in the past doing this.
...oh, I get what he meant now. But when you compare percents and then say a percentage decreased by a percentage, I feel it's not clear, then, whether you mean a) a percentage of the whole decreased by a percentage of the whole (e.g. 50% decreased by 10% is 40%), or b) a percentage of the whole decreased by a percentage of itself (e.g. 50% decreased by 10% is 45%) That is, would I be /wrong/ to say that the decrease was "a decline of 11%"? I'm not sure whether there is a way to say it that is unambiguous by itself or if it requires context.
+Aexis Rai Yes, you would be wrong in saying the decrease was 11%. You can't compare percentage points like that. A 40% decrease means relative to the initial percentage number.
Regarding bicycle helmets: The first true helmet came out in 1975 when I was in college. After having had two serious accidents (one in 1974 where I broke my right radius and ripped the extensor tendon to my thumb and in 1976 when I was hit by a VW Bug and broke my left clavicle), I thought that I was lucky that I hadn't hit my head yet and bought one of the first Bell bicycle helmets. It was white with red racing stripes and red straps and minimal air vents. Back then it was the only true helmet you could get. Here is an image of it: i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/gM8AAOSw0t9U2ACM/$_1.JPG
Though I largely agree with you you did really overlook the obesity. Obesity has been well on the rise, and modern kids are far more sedentary than in the '70s. It's dishonest to ignore all the improvements, but it's also dishonest to overlook the changes for the worse. New doesn't mean better, new doesn't mean worse; everything must be looked at in the light of its own merits.
My generation, as well as those younger than I, are consistently criticized by those that have came before us, and sometimes even those that are a part of our generation. According to the data provided in this video, we are wrongfully being criticized for our so called bad habits. Instead, most of the population seems to believe we are a generation headed down hill, we don't care for others, only ourselves, we are rude, arrogant, and make poor decisions concerning our health, drugs, alcohol, and sex. The data shows that in every aspect except marijuana use, this generation has better statistics concerning unhealthy or improper behavior. So what brings about the criticism? In my opinion, we are criticized so harshly because media access is at an all time high. Everything we do is documented with a rise in social media such as snapchat, twitter, Instagram, and facebook. Therefore, the poor decisions that are made are broadcasted to anyone who is interested. We are a product of our generation, therefore most of us are active on at least one form of social media. It does not mean that more of us are making poor decisions, it only means that everyone else is more aware. It is important that the nation take this into account before determining that the current generation of teens and young adults is headed to Hell in a handbasket. This generation is already working hard to reach our goals and make magnificent discoveries to improve the lives of all those around us. This is not seen however, as the bad things overshadow what is important. Other generations should make a point to keep this in mind before condemning the current generation of kids and young adults.
"No policy changes on alcohol"? When I was a kid in the early 90's a possession of alcohol ticket was $60. Today it is hundreds of dollars. That is why weed took off so much in the late 90's because the war on teen drinking made it cheaper to get caught with pot than a six pack.
Does anyone else notice the 10/1/2017 expiration date on the medicine capsule? I wonder if that means Aaron will stop producing videos on October 1st, 2017...Hmmm.
You/we are the worst generation. But that's a good thing, you don't need to be as good as people that came before because your lives are pretty good and theirs were pretty shit.
+Diana, the Inorganic Vegan Every generation is the worst. I bet you didn't even have to walk uphill to school through hurricanes, both ways, while sharing a single shoe with your younger siblings.

woobmonkey Wow, so struggle is a sign of superiority? So Ethiopia is the best country in the world? Also, I had to ride my bicycle 6 miles to school in blizzards.
Also, they have so many things I'd have killed for as a kid. I mean, in college, I wanted a general purpose, 64 bit RISC computer, and the last iBook or Powerbook had left the market by the time I wanted such a thing. Now you can get one for $35 off the shelf. And let's not speak of smartphones and tablets. No, we had CB radio.
These results dovetail nicely with a book called "The Fourth Turning" which explains an 85 year cycle of culture. Notice he's comparing from 40 years ago. This trend will not continue forever. We'll see similar values to 1970 in 2055. The world isn't always improving or collapsing into nothingness. It cycles as we learn from our recent mistakes and forget history.
Less kids are using psychedelics than previous generations? I'm am kind of mixed about that. On one hand I think it is great that kids are not messing with their brains with such powerful drugs at a young age. I am not trying to insult children by saying they are less experienced thus less capable of dealing with the bad side of the world, but I do honestly think it is the truth. I think kids are so inexperienced that they lack the experience necessary to even understand that they are less experienced. I certainly was a test case for Dunning-Kruger when I was an adolescent, and I still am, I just have enough wisdom/experience now the be able to recognize it and admit it. I had no idea I was so clueless about the world when I was young, and anecodtally I see it in virtually ever kid I encounter in some way. Like me when I was that age, they seem to think they're so intelligent that they stumbled upon a new way of living and interacting that the older generations never even considered. That I was the first young person to ever just decide racism or sexism or any other social issue which negatively impacts people is wrong, and that no older generations had ever been as thoughtful or enlightened as I was. Thankfully I quickly saw how full of shit I was, and so did all my peers, and of course the adults who stepped up to show me how wrong I was also went through it in their day. I have no idea if kids are wiser now-a-days (in general) so they don't walk around thinking they're smarter and tougher and indestructible, but I have met plenty who fell into my trap. Like me and my generation, and previous generations, I think with a little guidance and just some time and experience they will come to that realization and productive adult life can then begin. Anyway, that caveat turned tangent aside, I think it is great that kids are more likely to wait until they are older and wiser to start messing with their assumptions. Someone who does not know a lot, who thinks they know a lot and who also thinks they are invincible taking psychedelics can quickly become messy. It seems to demonstrate a perspicacity inherent in our current generation that IMO really does make them awesome, because they are showing more restraint and a better ability to think ahead than I at least had. However, I think the turn from me being a stupid kid who believed their own hype into someone confronted with the truth that I don't know anything was primarily brought on by my use of psychedelics. I started pretty early, but I think it gave me a bit of a head start on some of my peers because when I first did LSD I instantly understood that I know nothing and everything I thought I knew was unsubstantiated bullshit. That is not to say other people who try psychedelics will have the same sort of benefits, but there can't be any potential if the act never happens to begin with. What I mean by that is I don't advocate young people doing psychedelics, I just think they helped me when I was young (though I also would probably have benefited more if I waited until I was older to try it). I hope young people continue this trend and even go farther, so less try psychedelics or unprotected sex or other drugs/destructive behavior, as we will all be better off for it. I just wonder if we are going to get a generation of intensely boring, still in the dark children who have a harder time breaking out of the youth mindset trap. I think since generations previous to the widespread use of psychedelics in the Western World turned out generally the same as every other generation, psychedelics or not, that they will all be fine, but the bittersweet aftertaste is still a concern. I just hope some of them, when they are older and more worldy, consider giving psychedelics a shot so they have an easy tool by which they can question all their beliefs and assumptions and go hopefully learn something useful from them.
Sort of a misstep on the bullying thing. Yeah, less physical fights but that's not the only sort of bullying. We now have "cyber bulling" style things to watch out for with the kids. When I was in school it was mostly verbal harassment and that was really only about 13 years ago. Physical fights were rare.
Psychological trauma is real and does have a lasting impact. If you're verbally bullied all day at school and go home to your safe space online and find it there too, it does have an impact. I put it in quotes because I hate the term. The reality is you can get one or two people who say mean things at school and others sort of whisper it around you. Then you get online and because people think words on the internet have no consequences, you have 30 or more people saying it in spaces where you can see it. It's not peer pressure at that point, it's just bullying.
zekelyness Have you tried... idk... not being a victim? Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and whatever newfangled thing the kids are into these days all have a block feature, every computer has an off button, and everybody's eyes have lids on them. If you can easily opt out of it, it's not real bullying.
I am a 34 year old women with a handicapped and I walk with a cane and I can tell you the most helpfull and polite people are kids and teenagers. They are generally the first to open doors for me without me asking, give me their seats on the bus, etc. Funny enough the only age group that does better at this is the 75 years old and up and its not by much. The worst, baby boomers, don't get me wrong my parents are baby boomer and I love my parents, but in terms of politeness and helpfullness, babyboomers are the worst, they kind of have this entitlement thing going, for example, since they've been taking the bus for so long they are entitled to their seat, never mind that I can't stand up for that long, its their entitlement! So when I hear people complain about kids, I kinda get mad!
I agree with most of this video. But as a Dutchman I have to say: bike helmets? Meh. If you're not riding at 30km/h, riding in a busy city or doing stunts, you'll probably be fine.

I was just talking to my sisters last night about how much better our kids are than we were at their ages. Kids today are fine. I want to send some parents I see to parenting classes, but that's a different issue altogether.
I love this episode.
As the Internet generation would say, "Evidence! Or GTFO!"
THANK YOU for this video.
never clicked on a video faster
+InvisibleMan I wasn't born in the 2000s though, haha! Thank you for the information, though.
aaaand our parents will attribute this to greater parenting
Though I decided long ago not to have children (unless I adopted or fostered) I still believe this video is spot on, as the kids I interact with are amazing now and I have no doubt will be great when they get older.
That 60% condom use number should *really* be a lot closer to 100%. I'll take what I can get though. Good job, youth.
This video made me feel sooo much better about being in my age group!
Just curious: How many children were in the sample populations of "Then" and "Now" that this data is based on?
Kids these days are way more mature then 30 years ago. They have so much exposure to the world thanks to the internet. I remember the only exposure I got was via the neighborhood kids and magazines.
Vsauce has a pretty good video talking about the idea of kids being terrible, commonly referred to as "juvenoia".
So....
Why are you kids still on mah lawn!!??
Haha I took this survey ^^;; It's like I'm in healthcare triage!!!
I feel like the "sexed up" thing is 1) media hype, and 2) more that younger generations are more informed - because of awesome channels like this one! - about sex and the realities of it. I think that's why condom use is up, and why teen pregnancies are declining. Education and information is the key.
Thank you for this wonderful and informative video.
Awwww thanks, proto-Aaron
keep up the good fight against that proverbial old man.
+InvisibleMan I think you forgot a "/s" most of that stuff is awesome (except JB but every generation has shitty pop stars).
Never say never. BUT ....... I will never unsubscribe from this channel!!!!!!!!!!!!
What other educational shows are made in that building? I'm always on the lookout for more informative channels to watch!
+Andrew Combs crash course ,sci show(space), animal wonders ,sexplenations and the art assignment
Whenever I do those kinds of surveys I feel like I'm "pretty great."
get rekt old people
-Science
I just want to say thank you
"You're the worst generation!"
*sips tea* "We didn't ruin the housing market."
What the shit are you on about?
I was making a joke, a passing comment, about the hypocrisy of many boomers - something not to be taken too seriously.
Also, you just sound you've turned in to a bitter old person before your time. You're doing exactly what every previous generation does to the youths of their day by wrongfully criticizing their lifestyles and the media/technology of the day. Who gives a shit whether you grew up with dial-up and they didn't?
+AFGNCAAP the great
Not only is he bitter, he's also spamming the same thing on dozens of comments on this video, and it's been relevant to *none* of them.
John Harvey well then
I've never quite understood what the problem is with teens having sex.
Well we are all getting massively overweight. But you can't blame that on the kids.
+liltonyabc True! After all, babyboomers are blowing up like balloons at an alarming rate, too!
I don't see how you can call nearly 70% of the population as overweight or obese as anything other than massive.
liltonyabc no because that's factually untrue. How is 30-40% the majority?
thanks for the compliments m8
I'm glad that they're making healthier decisions about drugs, sex, etc. However, as a college educator, my main concern with "kids these days" is academic entitlement (which is the actual key term in case you'd like to look this up on Google Scholar) and the negative learning outcomes that go along with it. It would be really interesting to see an episode like this on attitudes, mental health, etc.
How can I take such a survey as a teenager? I wanna contribute data
No thanks Sam? Thanks Joe?

With physical discipline deemed as uncivil in both jail and raising a child. Children and criminals swiftly learn that they can exploit the system with little to no consequence. Dose controlled, non abusive, physical discipline have a greater impact on physiological development then verbal discipline?
I've worked in customer witnessing parents get into the situation where a child is controlling there parents like a pair of dogs. Could the absence of physical discipline be contributing to the bossism?
No matter where I look it seams the normal thing to do is to "carry our horses." Or "carry are cars" in a more modern metaphor.
I got 2 min unskipable ad at the beginning of this video >;(
Ha. The $10k Patreon level has restrictions. I guess we won't get "Healthcare Triage brought you by smoking!"
Was that animation drawing in the cement... was that Stan?
Can you do a uk version?
Re: obesity, wasn't it in the 80s that food manufacturers replaced real sugar with high-fructose corn syrup in all their processed stuff? And isn't that when obesity rates started climbing/when doctors were instructed to note when patients were overweight/obese, even when they weren't coming in for a problem that wasn't related to their weight ?
Good ol' Juvenoia. Awesome to have some data to back up the progress the generations are making ^_^
Could someone tell how there's data going back to 1972 if the survey started in 1991?
Simply agree. :-)
That link to the incidental economist goes to an unknown page.
Let's be honest here, everything is pretty awesome today. Literally everything.
Can't believe so few young Americans smoke, do you know of any similar kinds of studies in the UK?
what about our numeracy skills? are we doing worse or better than the 1972s?
I think this show is awesome, and I mean this more as a philosophical inquiry than a criticism. Everything you said came from survey data: how do you know that today's culture doesn't just pressure teens to lie more?
+Amanda Lee Dube
Would that imply that today's teens may be doing just as badly or worse than other generations, but they feel more guilty about it?
What age specifics are we talking about?
so the sky still isn't falling
did you say the sky is falling!? THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING
aaaaaah when I was young people worked in the fields
1:17 "a decline of more than 40%" - *what?* 27 minus 16 is 11, not >40. How is there not an annotation correcting this yet?
27*0.6=16.2, so about 16 when rounded down. So a 40% decrease
...oh, I get what he meant now. But when you compare percents and then say a percentage decreased by a percentage, I feel it's not clear, then, whether you mean
a) a percentage of the whole decreased by a percentage of the whole (e.g. 50% decreased by 10% is 40%), or
b) a percentage of the whole decreased by a percentage of itself (e.g. 50% decreased by 10% is 45%)
That is, would I be /wrong/ to say that the decrease was "a decline of 11%"? I'm not sure whether there is a way to say it that is unambiguous by itself or if it requires context.
Aexis Rai You wouldn't be wrong. Either way, this isn't important to the point he's trying to make.
+Aexis Rai
Yes, you would be wrong in saying the decrease was 11%.
Here is an image of it:

Though I largely agree with you you did really overlook the obesity. Obesity has been well on the rise, and modern kids are far more sedentary than in the '70s. It's dishonest to ignore all the improvements, but it's also dishonest to overlook the changes for the worse. New doesn't mean better, new doesn't mean worse; everything must be looked at in the light of its own merits.
"go tell your parents I said so." well you are the doctor here
My generation, as well as those younger than I, are consistently criticized by those that have came before us, and sometimes even those that are a part of our generation. Other generations should make a point to keep this in mind before condemning the current generation of kids and young adults.
i actually took this test 2 hours ago in class
Cool :) out of curiosity... were you completely honest? I feel like I would be tempted to bend the truth a little
PLEASE do an episode on coconut oil!
Thats what ive always thought
"Go tell your parents I said so.";D
"No policy changes on alcohol"? When I was a kid in the early 90's a possession of alcohol ticket was $60. Today it is hundreds of dollars. That is why weed took off so much in the late 90's because the war on teen drinking made it cheaper to get caught with pot than a six pack.
Every generation thinks that the upcoming generation is going to hell in a hand basket.
Now you young whipper snappers protect your damn hearing! -recent former child
I’m curious how this pertains to mental health.
Woo, using less meth! :D
...So Invisable Man has posted the same comment 18 times...did no one notice?
People have been mostly ignoring him, hoping he'll go away. If that doesn't work, and he keeps posting the exact same thing, it might qualify as spam.
;)
Does anyone else notice the 10/1/2017 expiration date on the medicine capsule? I wonder if that means Aaron will stop producing videos on October 1st, 2017...Hmmm.
I hate this "you're the worst generation" shit.
You/we are the worst generation. But that's a good thing, you don't need to be as good as people that came before because your lives are pretty good and theirs were pretty shit.
How are we the worst?
+Diana, the Inorganic Vegan Every generation is the worst. I bet you didn't even have to walk uphill to school through hurricanes, both ways, while sharing a single shoe with your younger siblings.

woobmonkey
Wow, so struggle is a sign of superiority? So Ethiopia is the best country in the world?
Also, I had to ride my bicycle 6 miles to school in blizzards.
This is great!
I don't know if I missed it.. what was the age range of "teens." Also... I'd love to see it by year.
Mr Humpty Highschoolers.
✊✊✊✊✊Get off my lawn!
am 13 years old
i wonder what the data on prescription drug use, depression and suicide looks like among teens today versus 40 years ago.
Depression is a disease. Idk why you think that would make one generation worse than the other.
Damn juvenoia
Kids are expensive.
cost:
-Child support
- Alimony
Pretty expensive.
I'm amazing. I know.
Every parent wants their child to have a better life than them. Then they get jealous and annoyed when their kids actually have it.
+zekelyness "cyber bullying" a.k.a. "not real bullying". No one can harm you through an internet connection.
It's not peer pressure at that point, it's just bullying.
zekelyness
Have you tried... idk... not being a victim? Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and whatever newfangled thing the kids are into these days all have a block feature, every computer has an off button, and everybody's eyes have lids on them. If you can easily opt out of it, it's not real bullying.
This guy for president lmao
