I had the same issue, with glue keeping the battery from being removed, someone suggested using cooking oil or coconut oil. I used coconut oil, used a butter knife and slightly tapped it in with a hammer and pushed it thru from the opposite side as this video suggested. Just be careful with the ribbon in the area and wallah it slipped out and was able to replace the battery... working like a champ now. thank you very much for your help.
Thanks for the advice about removing the other side and pushing the battery out. It was still a task but the battery eventually came out. As you suggested the battery might be swollen somewhat, which it was. Everything back together and sounding just as good. Thanks for the advice.
Nice video ! Finally someone who takes the battery out carefully from the flip 4... all the other vids I’ve watched just have people hitting the speaker and poking the battery with sharp spikes
if anyone is having trouble taking it out because it has glue, dip a thin blade onto some goo gone then work around both sides of the battery but make sure u don’t puncture it just becareful and it will come out pretty quick because goo gone dissolves the glue and it makes it slip out easier and also becareful not to get it onto other electrical components
My flip 4, only bought it for like half an year, is having a battery issue where it runs real quick. And when it charges, I find some problems like stopping the blink (which indicates it is being charged) stops at 4 point and never run to 5th unless I replug it. And the sounds are getting distorted when the light hit red which indicates the battery has run short. I get it if the battery is efficiently using the juice by not using its full sound quality but when I turn up the volume at that moment, the battery runs out and the speaker shuts down. I bought it as my travel accessory and it doesn't quite help me with my purpose.
The battery on mine is really bloated. I tried pushing and it didn't come out. I asked someone to help and they pulled the cables from the connector out. So I'm stuck with a damaged battery inside the device (It's not leaking or hot or anything, and I'm afraid if I try to pull it out I may break it). Any suggestions?
@@tsmluis7620 didn't have to. Sent it to a place where cellphones are fixed and they managed to get it out. They had to make a tiny cut on the strip of plastic that holds the battery in place, but battery is out! I don't know about everywhere else, but where I live JBL speakers are really expensive, and I couldn't afford to buy another one now. Especially when the actual speaker is not broken
Hello Natalia, After spending several hours unsuccessfully trying to remove the battery with a pair of pliers and other small tools I used two medium in length thin flat head screw drivers, one on each side first by moving the battery from one side then vice versa until the adhesive strip that the place on each side of the battery to loosen it up a bit and then using the screw drivers simultaneously getting as close to the base of the battery with a slight piercing motion and ,pulling the battery upwards it eventually became loose enough and I was able to remove it.
Put some WD40, sesame or coconut oil, in all four sides of your battery. Try to slip a knife or in my case I used a metallic nail sharper, adding more oil as you go further in slipping the knife in. You must start to feel it moves side wise, at this point pull it with pliers from the cables, or if you have slim pliers take the battery itself, press hard and pull out. It worked for me.
Can someone please help me. My jbl flip 4 is not working, i. I tried to charge and plug in usb cable but it does not charge the battery. It keeps on indicating low battery(red light)
You have excellent communication skills, HOWEVER: 1) the two sides of my JBL Flip 4 do not twist off, they have 5 screws that must be removed; 2) You cannot open the opposite side two push the battery out on my Flip 4 because there is a plastic wall that prevents this; and finally, 3) My battery is GLUED IN!!!
@@mygiguser there are different version also know as GG,and TL on the flip 4 you got the TL model and the one with screw is the GG one i have the GG one to and on my flip4 is the battary swollen and its stuck heat does hep because there dont use glue for the battarys
Hi, yes there is a plastic wall, but there should be a small opening in the middle. There you can push the battery out. Use a long screw driver or something else that fits and pay attention on flat white cable!
i got the JBL Flip4. i didn't use it for a month because I went overseas. when i came back it's facing a lot of issues-not fully charging, sound cracks. now it's no longer powering on. since it's out of warranty, JBL is charging $100 for the repair.
