I think it is because he got off the island and lived a happy life with penny and his son. His life was fulfilled no regrets easier for him to move on, where everyone else suffered even if they got off the island their lives had sorrows of loss.
It makes sense that Eko's not there, though, because he was already at peace with himself when he died (as he says in his speech to the MiB posing as Yemi) so he doesn't need to be in the flash-sideways: he could move on right away. I'm more disappointed that Michael's story was left unresolved.
did you ever watch the epilogue? It answers a few more questions and implies that Ben and Hurley bring Walt to the island to help the dead people who are stuck there move on
@@gryotharian I like to think that even though Walt helped Michael get over his guilt of killing Ana and Libby he still chooses to stay on the island as a whisperer for whatever reason. Maybe to stay with Walt?
@@thepronoob4039 Perhaps he also needs the forgiveness of Libby and Ana Lucía (and perhaps the other Losies). Libby when she moved on she got to forgive him (as well as Sawyer, Jack, ...), so Ana Lucia is the last one
273Luke Eko would probably have been alive and huge role during the final season since the story in the island went deep into the mythology but the actor didn't want to be on the show anymore
Eko wasn't there simply because of the actor, but Hurley said he could see him sometimes. Michael wasn't there because he's stuck as a spirit on the island. Walt probably took over after Hurley so he might be alive, therefore no flashsideways.
@@ShadowZone1996 Doesn't matter if Walt outlived Hurley, everyone shows up in the flash sideways at the same time regardless of when they died. Michael's spirit was implied to be remaining on the island by choice, but the epilogue (The New Man in Charge) suggests that Walt helped his spirit move on. I think Michael and Walt were not on the plane because in the flash-sideways Michael won legal custody of Walt and didn't have to fly to Australia to get him. Ana-Lucia wasn't ready to move on because she still has to forgive Michael. Once they meet in the flash-sideways they will remember each other and move on together, maybe with some other characters who didn't move on at the end like Ben.
Hurley: She coming with us? Desmond: No, she’s not ready yet. I love how those who didn’t come with right at end are left open-ended and that there’s more work to be done to help those left behind join those who moved on. It’s quite a nice touch.
I didn't like that they showed Ana Lucia as a corrupt person, but she wasn't like that when she was in the other reality. I think they could have made better use of the character with more scenes, helping Desmond in another way.
She wasn't corrupt? She lied about the man who shot her to get him released from prison so she could murder him in cold blood. She threw people in a tiger pit to try to extract confessions from them. She purposefully seduced and had sex with Sawyer solely to steal his gun (the same gun she gave to Michael, hoping he'd murder Henry/Ben, only to have that very gun turned on her). She also murdered Goodwin, who hadn't actually hurt her in any way, and merely thinking he was connected to those who kidnapped some of her group doesn't make her judge, jury, and executioner. Remind me how "not corrupt" Ana Lucia was in the original timeline...

She was a dirty cop. It wasn't the first time she abused her position of authority and her partner had to keep her in check often. Worse, her mother absolutely abused her position of authority by protecting her from the consequences of her actions.
Second that police officers can't use their guns to kill people for revenge, no matter what the guy did she shot him in cold blood, which made her trigger happy and she killed Shannon. Michael and walt aren't there either. Michael is a sad dude--most disliked character.
