Including Grombi melee defence, enemy have real chance of 10+6+3=19% of hitting a land to him. Avreage speed attack is about 3 seconds for sword/shields infantry, other types have lesser speed (like 4.5 for great weapons etc). Let's think that every 3 seconds Grombi trying to tank 6 strikes with 19% chance of successful. In a minute he will face ~23 strikes. In real, I think it will be less strikes per minute. Usual melee damage totally ignored due to lacking of armor piercing damage in first place to calculate, and, of cos, mountain of his armour. Grombi just didn't feel usual melee damage, he is higher than that. Armor piercing damage reduced by 90% and usually about 1 to 4 damage from infantry and arrows/bullets. that point you made about how many units grombrindal can hit is spot on, would be nice to see in-game on some tooltip how many targets they can hit instead of looking it up on 3rd party websites
Yeah, I just finished a blessed dread campaign. And the confederated malus is a beast. I gave him a top tier balanced army but in his battles I just used him and a dark sorcerer. His army was there just to cheer him up while he made a blob of enemies and the sorcerer killed them all. As far as I know armour rolls the armour value against the incoming damage, if the armour roll (any number out of eg. 152 for Grombi, 76 avg, roll) is higher than the damage value noting happens. If you roll less, that number is subtracted. (eg. roll of 15 vs. dmg 20 = 5 dmg) Armour piercing damage ignores this step. That's why really high armour and APdmg are both so good. The Lizardmen's missiles have very little AP and it seems like resistances are calculated before, so that armour almost never rolls below dmg value. Noticed that on an empire general with 90 missile resist, he depleted a whole skaven army's arsenal, only artillery doing any (if minuscule) damage to him...
