I think if you spread out the horse poop, it would probably get the grass healthier. Horses tend to stay in sections, which gives you the growth vs the cockle burrs. Also, adding garlic salt from Redmond salt agriculture division in their water helps them be immune to fungi infections and keeps the flies down.
Google how to get rid of those burs! You'll probably find a 100 ways to help!Peppy is so gorgeous! I'd love to have her for sure. At least we know how noisy that highway is!
I dig them out here in IL in my pasture but I only had a few plants. U have a huge takeover. Try mowing the plants when then only get 6ins tall before they burr up. Then maybe do sections, roping off the areas in groups & spray?
This is the first place I’ve ever lived that I didn’t have cockle burrs. I lived in Florida, Tucson Az and I moved from Naples in SW Florida to North Florida and I have sand spurs but no .
Is there a way you can drag a fine weighted mesh through the field they should catch on something like that. If the material you drag is inexpensive enough you could throw it out instead of picking them out of the drag.
Let animals help you. Put goats in there. They’ll eat the plants which the horses won’t. Or maybe better find someone who has chickens with a mobile chicken coup and put them in the coconut areas Let them eat it to bare ground. They’ll eat the seeds too. It will probably take a day or too and then you move to another location. What is left will be fertilized bare ground free of seeds and bugs ready for replanting what you want in there.
Cockleburs were the inspiration for the inventor of Velcro. Isn't nature wonderful? 😊 Have a great day!
I have seen ranchers drag a burlap bag through the field with their tractor to capture the cocklebur seeds for disposal.

Nu-Stock best for rain rot, cuts, tender hooves, ringworm, any other fungus. This stuff has 73% sulfur, pine oil. Works great!!!

Peppi is gorgeous looking. Will discing the pasture, get rid of the heavy areas of cocklebures?
I put baby oil on the burrs in my horses mane and tail.
Your grass looks like mine. But we have to mow ours. It's been raining for over a week so we can't get it done.
We haven’t had rain in months that’s just from irrigation
After the live stream but from Northern California Redding
I hate getting those out of my husband’s clothes.
Goats and hair Sheep should help with all the weeds.. Not only helps with weeds but helps break the parasite load. Check it out.
I hate cockleburrs too. They must be good for 'something', but I'm not sure what that might be!

Hello!!! Try Round up or 2 4 D anime. I have found myself battling burrs. We also used a push mower in the worst places
Hi it’s rose from Kensett, Arkansas
Research what kind of soil cockleburs flourish on…certain plants thrive on different soils
Just lost the picture the last minute. Maybe it was the heat again? 🤷♀️

My ex turned my sheep out in an area that he wanted "mowed down" that was full of cockleburs-- ruined a whole year's wool crop. 😢
Oh no

Maybe if you braid the manes and tails. You would only have to pick them off the braid instead of the tangled mess they are when in a lose mane
If I have missed see the 66 stallion , please show him.
He is still in Bayfield , Colorado
Eugene Oregon
Way too familiar with cockleburs!!! Dogs, horses AND myself. A nightmare when horses' tail is loaded! Talk about a 4 hr job!
